Momma was experiencing two competing instincts. Came to see that stallion because she was entering foal-heat (first estrus cycle just after foaling), and the instinct to protect her foal.

Google up some horse herd behaviour in relation to mares with new foals it's normal for a mare to do what this mare did and this is typically why a mare with a new foal is seperate from her herd for a bit of time before she brings the foal back to the herd and why some trainers and breeders keep a new mare an foal in Thier own paddock ECT so mum and baby can bond properly before they start socialising baby with new horses

It looks like they were testing to see if the mare was back in heat(they have long gestation periods so they're ready to breed again only a few days after giving birth). Depending on where they got the stallion or how he was raised they have him on the lead to try and make sure he doesn't pester the mare and accidentally hurt the foal(stallions are not usually raised with herds when domesticated and it's rare they ever even breed on their own so most have no idea how to act and injure the mare or foal. If raised correctly however, like in the wild, a stallion is a great teacher and friend to both the mare and foal and it's very healthy for them to be kept together(unless you don't want any more foals)). The mare wasn't ready to breed yet though and wanted to stay between the stallion and her foal just to make sure the foal doesn't get caught up in anything(being only a few days old they don't know how to keep themselves from getting hurt) so she kicked out at the stallion. The pee that escaped on one of her kicks was because she is in heat and mares squirt a mixture of pee and hormones out during their heat to try and excite stallions. Hope this helped explain some things. In all there isn't anything awful about what is happening in this video(hard to say without more context) but it could have been better done if they were all unhaltered and in a field together without human interference.

The mare recently foaled. Due to their long gestation they go into heat around a week after foaling in order to make sure the next foal enters the world around the same time next year. The mother was agitated after the foal didn't move in the direction she wanted it to go after the nudge. Foal got too close to the stallion which triggered her parental instincts to protect. That's why you should never bring a mare with foal near a stallion. Now other mares is another story. Sometimes the mother will allow it while other times the mare will be treated in a similar manner as the stallion. Watching body language is a huge deal since those hooves can be deadly. Some farmers use a testing stallion as a way to tell when the mare is in heat. Unless you want the tester to be attacked or the father he should be in the stable where it's more safe.
@TheBarkinFrog

If you don't bring a mare with a foal near a stallion, how do you breed them back? Because a LOT of horsemen breed their mares back on their foal heat, for precisely the reason you gave. So they foal the same time next year.

A cowboy buys a horse from the town pastor. The pastor explains, “To make the horse go, you gotta yell, ‘Thank God!’ And to make it stop, yell, ‘Hallelujah.’” The cowboy rides away. He rides all day and starts to nod off in the saddle when he notices he is about to ride straight over a cliff. Searching his memory, he yells to the horse, “Hallelujah! Hallelujah!” The horse grinds to a stop just at the edge of the cliff. The cowboy wipes the sweat off his forehead. “Phew!” the cowboy sighs. “Thank God!”

You see this! You did this to me!! *Kick*
What I see is that she was warning him to stay away. Horses are *always* communicating with each other. He would have been showing interest even though he was on lead. You can see that mum was already showing warning signals towards him (head tossing, active tail). She then walked up to him head on, with purpose and snaking head (challenging) putting pressure on him, saying you better move away buddy! He didn’t, he stood his ground so mum went straight in and told him his place! When he didn’t back down the first warning and he came in again she showed him the big guns. When he was submissive she walked away. You notice how she makes herself a barrier between the other horse and her baby. Keeping the foal on the outside and then moving it to the inside and away. As she moves away she talks and tosses at him again like “hey you better not come in on us”. Horses are naturally curious about new herd members so he probably wanted to say hi and check out the new baby and the baby was probably curious too haha but mares often like to keep close to each other with their young until they get a bit older.
OMG..😊i luv it..🙏non-verbal communication is awesome
