Factoring using difference of two squares

👉Learn how to factor quadratics using the difference of two squares method. When a quadratic contains two terms where each of the terms can be expressed as the square of a number and the sign between the two terms is the minus sign, then the quadratic can be factored easily using the difference of two squares factoring method.
To factor a quadratic using the difference of two squares factoring method, we simply express the quadratic as the product of the sum and the difference of the square roots of the terms of the quadratic expression.

use this as a example. x^2-4 x^2 square root is x 4 square root is 2 now your equation should look a little like: x-2 but you originally got the negative 2 from a positive and a negative 2 multiplying together. which means your equation should now look like (x+2)(x-2) does that make a little more sense?
