I was in Hong Kong as a small child in the early 70’s and my parents knew Jackie. She took them into the Walled City to have a look and it was a terrible hellhole. Because of this connection I read “Chasing the Dragon “ as an adult and Jackie’s description of how she began to use her gift of tongues and see real results in her ministry really spoke to me. For many years I had had the gift of tongues but left it unused. I took Jackie’s example and spoke in tongues every time I drove anywhere. In the past 7 years or so since I started doing this my spiritual life has grown and expanded beyond all recognition. God has transformed me in that time. And today, watching this interview I find another life changing gem from Jackie. She said that in places where she has missed the mark or done wrong, because she has repented, Jesus is able to redeem these things and make them better than they ever would have been if she’d done it right in the first place. I’m someone who has done things wrong and taken many wrong paths. And have thoroughly repented. But I find myself full of regrets that I cannot shake off....”if only”....”what if”. But now I can see a light dawning. The Lord is able to redeem every mess I’ve made, and turn it round so that there does not need to be any more regret. Fantastic!

I had gone to Hong Kong for two weeks to teach English at a church. I saw a park there in Hong Kong dedicated to Jackie Pullinger, whom I had never heard of before. I had forgotten all about hearing her name. But, 12 years later I woke up one morning hearing her name in my mind and the thought that she was willing to be obedient to the Lord Jesus. I had been praying Lord teach me how to teach, proclaim the gospel, heal as Christ did. I am very excited to hear Jackie was praying the same thing, Jesus teach me how you taught and loved! Matthew 9: 35 nAnd Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. 36 oWhen he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore spray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

Read Jackie’s book in my 20’s I am now leaving my 60’s this year (70 next year)

I'm from Brazil and listening to that , we can see that God is working everywhere and in many different ways, which shows us a tremendous agape to the souls in earth.

A woman after my own heart...she is real, down to earth but with her eyes on Heaven...she does not subscribe to spiritual cliches. She has proved to be a gloriously loose cannon for God and a precious true member of the Body of Christ. She has inspired me to use my prayer language a lot more...a vital tool in our walk with God for the pain that is in world that we are surrounded by and cannot get our own heads around intellectually...pray in tongues often.
