I was given that book to read 21 years ago… I was unsaved and detoxing from heroin. Within a few weeks I ended up in a Christian rehab, giving my life to Christ. I am now 21 years clean and sober. Jesus gets all the glory 🙌

When Nicky recommended “Chasing the Dragon” in Bible in One Year 2021, I ordered it immediately. I’d no idea at all what I’d been missing with the gift of tongues... in one week of using my one little sentence of heavenly language that I have, I’ve been rocked by how much strength, comfort, and breakthrough I’ve already experienced. Her testimony motivated me to put it into practice when I’d scarcely valued it prior. So in our Share & Prayer friends group in Houston, we’re reading Jack Deere’s book “Still Surprised By the Voice of the Spirit”, and watching videos pertaining to her. I just shared this video with my friends, and I think the Lord is moving this little band of ours out of our dusty wilderness of just knowing Bible verses to... knowing God himself. I. Want. More!!

I attended HTB in the late 80’s and Jackie Pullinger came to speak one Sunday, in 1988. I was in flood of tears then, and I’m in floods of tears now. The simplicity and power of her message is so profound, and The Holy Spirit really ministered to my very core. Thank you so very much for uploading this. God bless you deeply.

A friend of mine gave me the link to this video and it awakened memories within me. Of my years as a hopeless heroin addict in Hong Kong in the 1980's. I met Jackie in the walled city in kowloon in 1984, I was two years in to a ferocious addiction that toremy family apart. I knew Jackie by her Chinese name, Poon Siu Jeh, and she guided me for a couple of weeks. I withdrew from heroin for those two weeks, but didn't have the faith or strength to stay off it. My mother died from alcohol addiction that year, and it catapulted my heroin addiction to a new level. I was eventually kicked out of hong kong and continued my addiction in the UK. I was injecting by this point, but while I was in Hong Kong I was smoking it (chasing the dragon). I overdosed on a bench in soho in 1988, along with two other addicts. I was resuscitated, but the two guys with me weren't so lucky, and they both died next to me. I got up and ran away and got a friend to lock my in his flat where he detoxed me with cannabis oil. It was truly the worst, most painful three weeks of my life. I stayed clean after that. Now 36 years later I'm still clean, I never relapsed, and I still think of Jackie as being the catalyst for my recovery. Even though I didn't successfully give up heroin through Jackie, she did manage to show me a brief life away from the drug, which helped me during my detox and recovery in London. I went on to join the fire brigade, and also used my experience to counsel many addicts in the following years. I would like to thank Jackie personally for her intervention, but haven't got a clue how to contact her

She is simply a false prophet who knows knowing about the gospel. Very very few believers understand the Good News of the gospel since most fail to understand that scripture relates that sin allowed the devil to bring sickness into our lives and that Jesus came to free us from our sins and to teach us how to overcome them. Now on the other hand you have thousands of believers condemning their souls daily by blaspheming the Spirit of truth since they are eagerly relating their misguided beliefs about sin, sickness and scripture wherever they please and they willingly follow the many false prophets of this fallen world. Care to understand what the majority of believers clearly are not comprehending? First, can a believer possess a sickness or a disability? Yes it is definitely possibly for a believer to have a sickness or a disability in their life? But if a believer can get sick or they have a sickness or a disability then it certainly proves that they do not know God and it confirms that they have no idea what scripture is relating to them. They are simply a misguided believer who has been deceived by the devil’s many lies. Second, so is this deceived believer then a Christian? No they definitely are not since they are nothing more then a unclean believer who has fallen for the devil’s lies and deceptions and so they possess sin and ignorance in their life. They are considered ignorant by God since they clearly lack knowledge of God’s word and commands. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6 NKJV Third, what exactly is a Christian then! Well the world’s definition of a Christian is someone who believes in Christianity and that is totally incorrect. God’s definition of a Christian is someone who is a sanctified disciple and who lives exactly as Jesus did. A Christian is someone who has overcome sin and sickness in this earthly life since they allowed the Holy Spirit to sanctified their heart in God’s word and truth. They understood how to test the Spirits and so they went through God’s purification process that took many years, endless hours of reading scripture and praying and they endured many trials that required quite a bit of faith, patience and suffering. A Christian who is sanctified in truth can easily discern a sanctified Christian from an unclean believer in seconds since they possess the mind of Christ and they are able to judge everyone and everything. They can no longer sin nor can they ever get sick since they are now born of God and so the devil can no longer touch them with sickness or disabilities. “Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul. And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭11:25-26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭2:13-16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.” ‭‭I John‬ ‭5:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ So of course you will find that the many lost and deceived believers of this world will try to justify their sin and sickness by twisting the scriptures to coincide with their misguided beliefs. They will claim that God allows sickness and disabilities in order to display His glory since they do not understand the John 9 scripture or they may say that their affliction is simply a blessing from God. These deceived believers just will not accept that their sickness or disability is from sin and that it is a curse from God. They clearly overlook what God related to us in Deuteronomy 28:15-68 and they are blinded to the blessing that Jesus provided for all of mankind. “And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: ‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive; For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.’” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:14-15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Because they lack knowledge of scripture they willingly continue to live in sin and their ignorance of truth. So they will claim that Paul’s thorn in the flesh was a sickness or they will try to manipulate what 1 Timothy 5:23, Galatians 4:13 and Philippians 2:26 are relating to us in order to justify the sin and sickness in their lives. They will try to use Job and others from the Old Covenant without even realizing that we are all born in sin and there was no forgiveness of sins in the Old Covenant since Jesus had not arrived yet. Now once these misguided believers start trying to justify their twisted beliefs by misrepresenting the word of God they have now condemned their ignorant souls since they are blaspheming the Spirit of truth with their lies. God is Spirit and His words are His truth so blaspheming the Spirit means that you are speaking against God’s word and truth. So once they do these foolish things they are then denying the power and the goodness of God and they have blasphemed the blessing that Jesus provided for all of mankind through His sacrifice. Psalm 107:17. “Fools, because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, were afflicted.” Know what this means? First transgression, it means an act that goes against a rule, a law or a code of conduct. Next iniquity, it means a wicked act or thing, sin. Finally, affliction, it means something that causes persistent pain or suffering. Translated it is saying that you are a fool if you do not follow God’s laws and commands and you go and sin because you will then have pain, suffering and sickness. God commanded us live a holy and righteous life and He expected us to overcome both sin and sickness in this wicked world. I can definitely testify that this blessing is possible since I am someone who has been sanctified in truth and I can no longer sin nor do I ever get sick. So for anyone to say that we all sin or that we all get sick is simply a lie and that certainly makes them a fool in the eyes of God. “Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” ‭‭I Peter‬ ‭1:13-16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.” ‭‭John‬ ‭5:14‬ ‭NKJV‬ Finally, most ignorantly believe that Jesus came to forgive our past, present and future sins. This spoken untruth is having people believe that they can continue in a life of sin and then simply repent and God will forgive them over and over. This is why many believe that if they repent just before they die then Jesus will save their sinful soul. This twisted reasoning would mean that you can continue to steal and then simply repent. You can then lie and then repent. You can then murder and simply repent. You can keep committing whatever sin you desire and simply repent afterwards and you will always be forgiven. Hopefully you are now comprehending how this is simply a lie and it is just utter nonsense that was fabricated by the devil? Jesus came to call sinners to repentance. This meant for us to stop sinning entirely and to start living holy and righteously just as God commanded. This is why very very few of us will be saved and the majority of believers will simply perish in their sin and their complete ignorance of truth. “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭5:32‬ ‭ “And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved, for the Lord will carry out his sentence upon the earth fully and without delay.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭9:27-28‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Can I, though 1 Cor 12 (see below), encourage you to focus on how you can love God and bless others? And your heavenly Father will help you to love Him and love others in a way that He has designed you to, and with whatever good gifts he is pleased to give you. 1 Cor 12:7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 1 Cor 12:30Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues?

Sounds like your chasing signs rather than a relationship with God.

My dad has had a Christian faith for 45 years and the entire time he has been in the wilderness and it has been a time of great struggle, he hasn’t yet received the gift of tongues. Everybody’s journey is a different one.😇

What a joy to hear her speak, but having to wade through that terrible cringy ingratiating and sycophantic intro by the Gumbles, ugh 😫

as I look at this video , I am saddened by the stack of videos on the side of my screen. On the right I came across a living example of "The Gospel ,While Denying The Power Thereof." A speaker with the title "Why Suffering?" by a leading Evangel-lectual figure, Philip Yancey. So sad. I meet many such who say 'I prayed for God to do thus and so, and He didnt do it.' Enter Jackie. She led the most dreadful examples of human suffering, heroin addiction, into the Baptism Of The Spirit. The Holy Spirit had baptized them into Jesus Christ. We call it the 'new birth'. But they need to ask Jesus to baptize them in the Holy Spirit, subsequent to salvation. Here the evangel-lectual crew misses it. Did the needs God addressed by the Holy Spirit somehow "cease" at the death of the last apostle? No.Thus "cessationism" is wrong. She led young men to Christ, and then into the Baptism of the Spirit as well thereafter. Minus the Baptism, they wouldve been asking "why suffering?" like the Yancey types. Endless exonerations of a supposedly loving God who blesses His people with little or nothing. They wouldve died of an overdose and to what end?
