Faces of Africa - Sons of Africa

Their fathers did not see eye to eye and their relationship ended up in war.
But their sons, Jaffar Amin, the son of Idd Amin former president of Uganda and Madaraka Nyerere son of Mwalimu Julius Nyerere former president of Tanzania, embarked on a journey of peace, of discovery and of reconciliation up Mt. Kilimanjaro, Uhuru peak 5895 metres above sea level. It's a grueling journey but they are determined.
Will they reconcile and end the rivarly which has lasted for decades between their families?

Jafar Amin can be a good leader for Uganda, this can be clearly seen from his sincerity in pointing out the weaknesses of his father's leadership and those of our African leaders. I love his selfless sincerity and exuded happiness for reconciliation. Thanks for sharing, Faces of Africa.

To me I wasn't there during Amin's rule but he's the best president my country has ever had. He loved his county genuinely. He was only dangerous btn the end of 77 &79

Jafar, you're the best example of the whole generation. People should stop condemning innocent children for the wrong rules and when you look at it? You will never understand who's wrong and who's the right ones

Reconciling with "enemy" ( actual or perceived ) is very difficult . Congratulations to both Amin and Nyerere for their courage to face the demons of their fathers. This courage raises the possiblity of building Africa (East Africa Region first) as a single nation.

My father was in the army, for me since I spent so much with him I kind of understand the Amin style of ruling and people should know that Nyerere was also not to be messed with.

They are not poor. Its just that they are not thieves, they did not engage in senseless accumulation of wealth. Their fathers never planned to be richer than all other fellow countrymen put together.
