I suspected that might happen. The amount of modern equipment on both sides forces them to dig in as breakthroughs become impossible because both sides check each other. This war can go on for years without any result, and people there will die for failed politicians interests. Ukraine may win this war (you never know) but it will pay for it with thousands dead and a completely ruined country.

this looks awful already but imagine the conditions in the trenches back then without modern clothing, hygiene etc. Not to take away anything from what these soldiers are going trough... trench situation might be slightly better now but now they've added drones that drop grenades straight on your head with pinpoint accuracy.

Sitting here in Germany in my comfy room and watching this feels surreal . I hope a lot of people seeing this and the support will grow for this country of heroes - Wishing all the best for the upcoming offensive!

They don’t have thermal on the FPV drones.. thermal optics are heavy and expensive. They may use thermal optics on higher altitude observation drones or satellites.

Ww1 was 100x more intense than this. Nevertheless this footage is a fantastic example of what soldiers are dealing with. I think alot of people watching now realize that war isn't like playing a game of call of duty. Its terrifying but you conquer your fear in order to survive and keep your comrades alive.

@@only1shinobi I disagree. WW1 had far more men thrown into the meatgrinder but the intensity argument is somewhat specious. What we see here is basically what any random soldier would have seen in ww1 except all the weapons are on steroids and theres literal AI only bots circling above that can kill you

@jef clark yes however the artillery bombardment went on for days on the front lines of ww1 leading to thousands of men breaking under the pressure with shell-shock. Poison gas and machine guns littered all across the battlefield made charging across non man's land almost always suicide. The Ukraine war is bad but the scale and intensity is much smaller. I do agree that precision weapons are terrifying but your chances of coming back alive is still greater in this war than in 1914. Trust me I'm a military vet and historian, I've been watching hours and hours of Ukraine footage since this conflict started. War is terrible regardless but I'd rather be in Ukraine than ww1. If you disagree then it is what it is. But this footage is incredible and I hope non vets can comprehend how shitty war is now.

As a former served US Marine that was some pretty intense footage. You guys remind me of US Marines. You guys fight fearlessly and aggressively. Great coordination with the supporting units. I wish the cameras didn't have to be blurred out when seeing dead body's. I get that the dead need to be respected, it's just that showing the graphic scenes would do a lot to place emphasis on the realty of War and show why it must be avoided at all costs. I think its very thoughtful of these soldiers to accept being filmed putting their lives on the line potentially sacrificing themselves for the war effort. People sitting from a place of safety and comfort need to watch this and appreciate their (yours) reality. I know I sure do, if I do say so myself. I think ending the War even if accepting the loss of the Donbass, Donetsk and Crimea etc is part of it. The people of those provinces will always find a way back to democracy if they want it. Even if they have to win their freedom through a riot, or resistance in the province its more ethical than waging a War for it in my opinion. May the dead RIP. Thank you for posting this video.

I never thought there’d be a major war between two majority countries in my lifetime. I was brought up that nuclear the possibility of nuclear war made these wars impossible. Russia snuck in one last war before Ukraine becomes nato.

I couldn't find anything about it in the commentsection, might be a stupid question, but the wounded soldier at 19:51 knocking his hand against the wood. Is this a common technique not to fade or just his level of stress and adrenaline? My prayers for every soldier, no matter the flag, every loss is one too much. 🕊

These warriors show the courage, determination, strength, skill, and tactical abilities to carry the fight to the orks. This is hard work in wet muddy conditions. Thank God for the drone operators giving support and tactical information. I hope the wounded are alive and healing well. My full respect to the men carrying to fight to the orks. I used to know the cruelty of war only through movies and few of documentaries, can only imagine how fragile life is. now we can see this extremely cruel battlefield through the webcast, which is really terrible.

terrain, lack of air supperiority for both sides, drones exposing your position at all times, drones rendering armor nearly useless in most scenarios, etc. WW2 was the rise of heavy armor which is what allowed Germany to Blitz through enemy lines. Drones have now taken us back to where both sides have incredible firepower but no defense from it.

9:30 seeing that dudes plate carrier fly up that he covered himself with and hearing the plate itself fly by, this shit is crazy and sad
