i remembered in iran 🇮🇷 the majority of people really deeply loved khomeini and were ready to die for him ...it was for real ....when he was patient and hospitalized ,so many people went to hospital 🏥 and ask to get heart donor for him....they teardrop and said :we don’t want life without imam ...it was very strange form of love ❤️...you knowhis funeral ⚰️ was the most busy funeral in the history and over 11 millions people was participated and even today it is a record in guiness...

I was young and non Muslim at time, despite my being Sunni and Ayatollah being Shia,I always liked him, maybe at first because he let black people go free, now I feel he really wanted his ppl to live according to their deen

This is one of the greatest interviews of all time. Mike Wallace was one the finest journalists this country has ever produced. He knew what to ask, when to ask it and he had guts. Most journalists today do not speak truth to power. They’re more interested in not jeopardizing their access than anything else. As for Ayatollah Khomeini, regardless of how one feels about the man and his regime, he was one of the 20th century’s most important and intelligent leaders. What he accomplished was no easy feat. The Shah was perhaps the most powerful ruler in the Middle East. No one could’ve foreseen the events that would unfold shortly after Carter’s famous “Island of Stability” speech. Not only did he mobilize the nation against the Shah’s regime but Iran under his leadership was able to withstand a nearly decade long war that began almost as soon as he took power.

@M I have Iranians friends and I practice Islam from the Shia school and my acquaintances have a different side. They love the Islamic system. You push Zionist propaganda narratives. The Iranian voters supporting the Islamic government are 60% or more, forget polling. That 60% is the majority. I know Western pollsters wish the tide would turn but these are the facts. The reformists are not the majority, the terrorists attacking targets in Iran are not the majority, the Shah's lackeys are a small diaspora of dissidents and opponents seeking economic opportunities not governing the country. You are entitled to your opinions but your opinions are not backed by facts. Open your eyes and see what is on the ground in Iran.

@M I know the Iranian culture is infiltrated by Western cultural practices (e.g., drugs, homosexuality, alcoholism) and I know many Iranians who hang in bars or night clubs here in the US but hate the Iranian government. I've studied Iran since the 90s and there is little change in the people; there will always be disagreements, dissatisfaction and opposition pockets. America is not alone in this either; many Blacks want reparations, justice, prison reform, judicial reform and equality but they are not the majority so the Congress acts according to the majority. Blacks, Mexicans and Native Americans are the minority, not the majority.

Yes, Persian is indeed a beautiful, poetic and complicated language but the last person to represent it is Khomeini! He is not educational enough to speak in a good manner at least as an Iranian leader would. Also, soft personality? He bombed, burned, tortured and raped countless endless Iranian People. His successor Khamenei is even more brutal and dictator. He did speak softly because he did not care and he could not speak.

Farsi seems incredibly similar to Hindi/Urdu. The word "Azadi" had me guessing meaning "Freedom" even before the interpreter translated it. Unbelievable how languages evolve.
