Americans can only can take a a shot at Biden's age because they can. If you think this is straight down the middle then you're on the far left edge of a cliff. This is standard tax payer funded left wing waste of air. Biden is a corrupt deep state puppet like most recent US leaders and they advocate for his presidency and give him the air of legitimacy. Meanwhile, the left criticise the war mongering, funding militias and crony capitalism, which the deep state functions on. Yet they understate Trumps policy positions and successes and popularity out of sheer hatred, because he is not an advocate of current left wing ideals. It's not what he's done; the left forgive and overlook a lot of immoral behaviour, it's simply his politics they don't like and they'd rather submit the world to the tyranny of the unaccountable, corrupt, murderers that comprise the deep state. I find it disingenuous when looking at global politics, it allears Biden and the democrats are far more dangerous to global stability and economic prosperity than Donald Trump and the republicans.

Just starting to watch it. I predict the two co-hosts are going to focus on “Trump’s lies” and how Trump “failed to answer the questions”. Let’s see if I’m correct…

Can anyone here be honest and just say that it is over. Biden is done, and Trump is a shoe in. The world needs it.

I like to remind people that Bill Clinton, who left office in January 2000, is younger than both Biden and Trump.

Why do expect him to finish a sentence if you don't know how to start one?

Um Chas, as someone who had ties to he US via my fiancé, I can confidentially tell you that the millions of migrants crossing are burdening the social security system and are being granted expedited amnesty. We have had illegals being housed in New York, Chicago, Denver, Houston etc that have displaced thousands of people in the Projects and that have replaced many people on waiting lists as priority. Secondly, some of these migrants are literally handed prepaid food cards to use in bodegas and supermarkets with up to thousands of dollars monthly. When Trump says they are destroying social security they are LITERALLY making it harder for entitled citizens.

That Nixon v Kennedy segment was fascinating. A bunch of details I wasn't aware of in there.

My fellow Australians lets put this into context. *FIRST:* America is still 25% of the worlds economy and most of OUR TRADE like all international trade relies on the US Dollar being the worlds reserve currency. Either our deals are done directly in $USD or the currency exchanges rely of $USD. *SECOND:* We are about to stake the future of our nation's security on America still functioning as a reliable partner. I actually went to college in America and have many American friends. No doubt most American's can be relied upon but we are talking about the guy who sits in the Whitehouse as the world tries to deal with some very serious issues: Russia-Ukraine, Israel-Palestine and China-Taiwan. *THIRD:* There's the elephant of all elephants stomping through the room, *CLIMATE CHANGE.* Make no doubt about it climate change will affect the worlds food supply and starving millions make for dangerous times. One of these 2 doesn't care and the other is incapable of doing what's needed. Love America or hate it, doesn't matter as much as knowing the guy in the Whitehouse is *RELIABLE* and can be counted on to do the right thing under pressure.

If you don't think illegal migrants take out of the US social security system, then you might want to take a closer look at New York and Chicago and what the illegal migrants are costing in health care, housing and other benefits. It is staggering.

I’m not sure this debate will change anything. Yes the debate was bad for Biden, he looked tired and old, because he is tired and old. The GQP are always releasing videos to make Biden look old and senile so I’m not sure if they will get any benefit from clipping parts of the debate. Magas won’t be changing their vote, and others that didn’t watch the debate will think it’s doctored video like all the rest. Democrats, independents and never trumpers will vote for Biden over trump no matter what, so it won’t change those peoples votes. The relentless lies and not answering questions that trump did will be used to make him look like the maniac he is, so I’m sure the Biden campaign will make use of that. trump didn’t look presidential, he looked like a liar, a cheat and a thief.

Even more important to put a younger, more handsome candidate up against him. Trump is vain, Newsom would totally rip the guy a new one and play on Trump’s obvious insecurities! Honestly the Dems, if they want to win, have to get behind Newsom. The guy is made for TV and a savvy operator. Harris for VP, she actually did well post debate, but isn’t popular enough to ensure a win. Another term in which to ‘grow’ into who she actually is, rather than playing the role she was assigned to in the Biden admin, could set her up to run next time.

It was a horrible debate. No answered questions. If Biden had just ignored Trump and answered the questions, I would have been happy.

Pls consider organizing the vice presidential candidates debate. It is more relevant now than ever.

As soon as Biden began to speak, I thought, SLOW DOWN! He was trying to speak way too fast, which tripped him up! If only he had taken his time and slowed down, it hopefully would have reduced his mistakes. I cannot believe that the Democrat Party thought it was a good idea to put this senior back in the race for president. Here is the proof they need to replace him, and let him retire in peace. Trump answered no questions and just repeated his rally lies. What a terrible choice for US voters.

If this debate was Trump Vs Gavin Newsom trump would look poor. Newsom is a great debater even though I am not sure he could get elected

I think Eric Swalwell, rep. from California, would be great as a Biden replacement. He was part of the first Trump impeachment hearing (national exposure), is a lawyer (quick on his feet & an eloquent orator) and has that throwback look - could be an extra on a "Leave it to Beaver" remake - that a lot of older Americans would subconsciously feel comfortable/nostalgic with.

i thought that too. i don't really like newsom... he seems greasy and over-priviledged. his smile feels fake. swalwell always seems authentic and well grounded.

Yes I found that stunning to see how low the bar has been lowered in the US when Trump's performance could be even remotely call Presidential in what is called a debate, yet lacked any of the professional standards that most normal debates are meant to be held too. For me the real failure in the debate was that of CNN and its so called moderators who had zero control over what Trump said or did.

Excellent contributions from both your guests: Heidi Heitkamp, and Liz Mair. The can be no question that this no longer Biden v Trump. The new campaign hasn't taken shape yet, but the current one just ended.

It was honestly just sad, it felt like some kind of elder abuse. You can’t help but feel embarrassed for Americans when this is the choice they are being given.

So, for the past 3 years Biden had been coherent and well adept with problem solving. Yet it takes this debate for you to acknowledge facts. I truly love this show but it’s incredible to see how much you are ignorant to the facts.
