Advantage of being as shortsighted as I am is that spooky, shadowy figures in the night are too damn blurry for me. Now sleep paralysis daemons have to be within a foot to be able to get a vague shape.

Remembered this video while thinking about things and here's what I think of it. It's like the face resembles your intrusive thoughts and other things in your mind that disturb you because I usually think of many things before falling asleep. Turning the fan on is like trying to distract those thoughts and they might work initially but later on it gets harder to ignore them until the face has almost come out of the wall, you have to face it right then and there, feel what it makes you feel and listen to it. Then after a while, it feels like you've calmed down, you've faced it, so it's peaceful now right? But that face, that intrusive thoughts, those things disturbing you in the night, they're not entirely resolved, just put off for dealing with later on; The face it still in the wall, just pushed back in, back in the corner of one's mind. It's quite scary how real this is to me. Thank you for this wonderful video Matthias. It captures that feeling, those thoughts, the way they're dealt with quite well through this face-in-the-wall metaphor

Happy Halloween! I was working on another video for this month, but realised I wouldn't be able to finish it in time. Feeling a bit down that I wouldn't make it in time, I came up with an idea for a halloween short and wondered if I could finish it in one day. It's a bit unusual for what I do, but was a lot of fun to make. Another video coming soon!

Actually the only piece of media to ever literally bring a tear to my eye. Didn’t even realize my eyes were watering. I understand exactly what the meaning of this video is without being able to articulate how I feel. I’ve watched quite a few videos from this channel, a lot of them I understood, some I didn’t understand their perspective, but this one definitely expresses how my soul feels on some lonely, empty nights. I saw someone compare this to intrusive thoughts, and if I think about it that way maybe that's why it didn't quite resonate with me the same. I am not scared of the faces I see in the dark before I go to bed. I do not sleep with the fan on. And I am not scared of the thoughts that pop into my head against my will. They simply are, like how sand can be both calming and irritating, not inherently anything. I am not scared of the shapes I see in the dark. I do not need the fan to fall asleep. I have many problems of my own, but I think both this and how I relate to it made a little bit more sense to me. This was a very good video.
