How refreshing, they didn't turn the interior into a modern condo! Beautiful!

Such an elegant building and beyond impressed with the stunning interior details that are surprisingly intact... not worth 4 million dollars though, especially considering the land has been sold off and there are noisey, crowded, subdivisions built right next door and then there are the ugly, smelly, factories you can view from the rooftop. (Not surprised the current owners chose to move and are selling after six generations lived there... with the endless yellow vest riots closing down the streets of Bordeaux, this is the last property I would ever buy. Buyer beware!)
What a relief that the interior hasn't been modernized. Incredibly beautiful!

Shouldn't you decide if it's 19th OR 20th century house, before putting it on YT?

There is a French expression unfortunately very difficult to translate, we say "Se coltiner le pouilleux sur le terrain". There is no English equivalent for "coltiner" and 'pouilleux".
Price?
Someone kindly tell me the name of the song

@@sonicdeeofficial8925 Property taxes in France are not very high. Climate in that area is mild, so heat should not be too terribly expensive. Air conditioning is unnecessary. Consider what kind of property you could get in this country for that price, and it is a bargain.

@@sonicdeeofficial8925 Not compared to U.S. property tax.
Only thing personally didn't like much was the children carving on walls and statue on the stairway otherwise it's a beautiful chateau!!

This house was lived in by nuns? Religious catholic objects every where?

The higher up you are in the church the more luxurious the accommodations (a bishop would live in a luxurious mansion like this and nuns would be sent there as household staff) and while we all know the church has always had more money than God, it was quite common for a nobleman, on his deathbed, to leave one of his properties to the church... the church would then ensure he would be blessed and promise he would get into heaven when he died. (Just another way the church would increase their massive global property portfolio.)
Maravilloso!
