I've been flying RC sailplanes for 43 years and you're right, I'm not too happy about this. As much as I dislike geo-sat-push-a-button flying I don't entirely blame quad-copter guys. The open skies we use to share and enjoy are being commercialized and each cubic mile put up for sale.

The problem is they should have been requiring it before now. You can kill someone if you crash a large fixed wing into them. Just like a little drone.

@@ellzgoespro6568 you do know not one person has been seriously hurt or killed . Ever in out Hobby. Not One. Maybe.. possibly.. could.. are not logical. Fact's. Not One. So why do feel the need for rules? No could possibly.. a golf ball could kill someone? Any stupid person can by golf clubs.. hit randomly into a Park.. housing.. concert.. I'm Shure has happened? Now you suggest all golfer's get a license? GPS tracked balls? I don't think you deserve freedom. You so easily give away.. or take from others? Hoping your not American? If are you definitely want my gun's.. lol I seriously doubt could kill anyone.. hurt heck ya. But kill? I've hit myself lol hurts! But mostly pride.. but is your opion. And we still can have those.. @@ellzgoespro6568 I have to disagree. I started flying R/C fixed wing when I was 12 back in the 70s long long before any of this mess. No one ever got hurt. No cars were ever crashed into. . I don't have an issue when it comes to regulation. Like in finance or health. But regulating air under 450' is just ridiculous on the face of it. Why now? Because businesses want to use it. And they have deep pockets. Hobbyists have never posed a threat to the air space because we're small in number and there is a lot of space. It's corporations that want to use UAVs as a delivery system that started all this. It's not a very efficient system and there are bound to be losses from theft and vandalism. Let's see how long they're willing to go when they start losing tens of thousands of dollars in drone gear.

20 years ago a guy I know did a maiden flight with a 60 size at park. On his first round he lost orientation and dropped out of the sky into baseball backstop fence just before the parking lot. The same guy was recharging his alkaline batteries in his transmitter over and over again and lost a 30 size biplane at a couple hundred feet up and it barreled in full speed into a different parking lot barely missing cars. He had equipment with no failsafes. I have flown since the late 90's and I've seen dummies fly all models (planes, heli's, multirotors, pizza boxes). Back then when you invested in a radio, receiver, and other equipment you had a substantial about of money to get into it. Today its like a kids week allowance and that is why we are seeing so many new dummies.
An officer approached me while I was flying and asked me if I was licensed. Instead of showing him my part 107 I gave him this certificate just to see what he would say. He came back five minutes later and said, have a good day sir.

Brand new to this - getting a dji mini 2 and wanted to be prepared. Took less than 10 minutes with UAV coach and was completely free!
Ha,ha...4 1/2 minutes. Guess that Evelynn B Woods speeding reading class finally paid off.
I just took it. I spent 5.5 minutes including the download. Can't thank you enough Russ, Jim

About 7 minutes for me. It really is super basic info that anybody flying a drone should already know.

I did it on my cell phone; but the download option was not accessible because of the screen “real-estate” not a big deal at all, just an FYI.
Thank you Russ!! I just did mine and it literally took less than 5mins. Basic knowledge and great for the upcoming drone pilots.. as always much respect for keeping us in the loop as well as the new pilots
Thanks Russ. I thoroughly enjoy your videos. They’re are informative and professionally done. Your a great asset to the drone community. Thank you, Phil Kentucky
Thanks for the info Russ, took me about 8 minutes & I have only been flying my drone about 3 months. Love your channel and all of the great info & help you provide to new pilots.
Valuable training of basic knowledge for every drone pilot. It is the equivalent to the EASA 'Proof of Completion of the Online Training'. Thanks for sharing!
I'm a student of Greg's over at Pilot Institute. He's a great teacher and the course is amazing! Thanks Russ for this video and all the videos you put out!
Thanks, hadn't even heard of this. It took me 15 minutes because I actually read the material before answering the questions. I'm planning to take the 107 test shortly, but thought I might as well knock this out first.
Another great job Russ. Thanks SO much for all the work you OBVIOUSLY put into your channel. So refreshing to see such high quality and germane content. Thanks again. You are much appreciated!!!!

Russ you are the best!!! I built this up in my mind that it would be hard. After you informed us that it wasn’t that bad I took the test and passed it with 100%. You do a fantastic job in educating the public and keeping us informed.
Just took the test, haven’t got the Part 107 yet but I’ve been studying for a week now. This certificate took me 5 minutes and I didn’t miss anything. Thanks for the info Russ
I just took the safety test and passed using your recommendation. It was easy and good information plus I did learn a few things about flying a drone I didn't think I needed to know so I like it
Hey Russ, the "TRUST" test was super easy! I completed it in 15 minutes. I've been flying drones since Sept 2015. I felt no anxiety when taking the training. It also helps that I'm a Commercial Airline Pilot and I'm use to doing recurrent training as required by my employer. Love your awesome and informative videos...you're the best. Keep up the great work!!
Russ, you beat me. It took me 5 minutes and 7 seconds to complete the test. I wasted time figuring out how to bypass all the informative information and get to the test on the second part. I'm glad I saw this video ( however, I watch every video you make) as I hadn't thought about using this section as a part 107 pilot does once in awhile. Thanks!
Just took this test and i pass took me like 8 minutes I have to thank you because I wasn’t aware of this information. Thanks buddy
Finished it in less than 4 minutesThank you Already have my Part 107.
Thank you. First to bring it up and totally correct on the ease of the test. I also agree that the information is relevant and well presented (on the pilot institute site where I took it). It is important in my mind that people entering this arena be educated and I think this does the trick.
So timely. Just saw your vid and taking test now. I already have my Part 107 and breezing through this. Thanks again.
Thanks Russ..... Went through Pilot Institute, once I'd watched Greg's update info. Went through all the steps, printed out my certificate. Training session was easy. Good review info for those who have their Part 107 Certificate.
Did it and passed your post along to friends. Thank you, sir.
you were right buddy. it just took me 5 minutes. Very easy for any person that fly a Drone. Thank you for the info. I really appreciate it. 😊👍🙏
Thank you for this video! I haven’t heard of this before. I have my 107, just recently, I am scared of my drone, and going to over come that. I’m going to take this course, and so glad I subscribed to your channel! Thank you for all you do for us, the time you take to break things down is awesome!

Flying a drone is like riding a bike or motorcycle. The fear of crashing can make you nervous. Whenever I take my drone out for the first time I can feel the nerves start tingling. I know it's going to be fun, but at the same time scary too. I imagine it's worse for people who fly RC planes. Drones pretty much fly themselves. Unless it malfunctions if it crashes it's because of something you did. Hitting a tree limb you didn't see, flying sideways into a bush when trying to land, stuff like that. But practice makes you feel more comfortable flying. I've been flying for about 4 years now.
Followed your advice. Took the course and questions. Took me 15 minutes to complete and print certificate. Thank you
Thanks Russ, as always you lead the pack in drone insight and info. TRUST done in minutes.
Thanks Russ for this informational Video. I just finished taking "The Recreational UAV Safety Test." Completed in about 20 minutes. Thanks again.
Thank you for all you help Russ. You have one of the most helpful and informative channels on KZread.
Thanks for posting this! Just went and completed it! Easy stuff!!
Thanks Russ.Very good right to the point no b/s video. It took me about 15 minutes to carefully read all the information and answer all the questions.Got a 100%. I do have my Part 107 UAS Certificate.
Took it and it took about 10 minutes. Thanks Russ for another informative video.
Thanks Russ. I just took it. Took me about 10 minutes. I read the first part and after that I went right to the questions.
In the last year I started my journey be getting a recreational certificate and wasn’t long before I decided to get Part 107. So glad I took the additional step. I learned so much, and still learning, as it opened up so many more opportunities for flying. I’ll be getting Part 108 when it’s in play.
UAV Coach - I used and found it very useful. I tried my best to think like a beginner. For those who are new its pretty darn good. Definitely agree on the experienced users. Very fast very easy.
I actually read through the whole thing, didn't really learn anything new. Took me 10 min and I am certified!! Thank you
I did my Part 107 training with Pilot Institute. They are awesome as well.
Ty for the link took me 8ish minutes and wasn’t a problem at all. Love your vids
Thanks Russ! I've had a drone for a while now, but the laws/rules etc. really put a damper on my flying and has really killed my desire to fly. This information was really helpful and has kind of rekindled a spark in me to get back out there.
Thanks again for the info. Appreciate you always doing the leg work.
I am Canadian from Toronto and I just got my TRUST certificated through UAS Couch !! I followed you video The awesome part was that all the time I was thinking that I was studying for the test but it was actually the test lol . I got 100% in the test!! :) Now I got the TRUST and drone already registered with FAA and I got air hub portal app, Rec Rock Canyon in Las Vegas here I come !! :) thanks for this video
Studying for my 107 currently. Actually happy to do TRUST. Just another learning tool!
Wow! That took a load off of me! Thank you!
Thanks for the video. I saw it this morning around 6am on my way to work. Did the exam and it took me around 20 minutes ( with all the readings) I passed it 100% and got my certification. Thanks a ton. I would love to take the 107 license in the future
Went to the page, read along and aced the questions. Pretty straight forward. Thanks for the links!
Great vid, Russ. Took mine this morning from the AMA website. It took less time to take and pass than it takes to make a post complaining about it.
Thank you! I took the test and easily passed it. I also now know about UAVcoach! Very helpful information!
pilot since 87', FAA is not what it use to be, don't forget that ever.
Thank you for this video. I took the test right after watching this and passed.
Good Refresher, I am a recreational pilot and stepped away from drones for a few months. The test offered by Pilot Institute was really easy to follow. Thanks for your video other wise I would have never known about this change from the FAA.
Great information, glad you shared this or I wouldn't have known. Training was simple, anyone with prior knowledge will breeze through this. Took me about 10 mins as I'm still learning and absorbing everything.
Russ, thanks for spreading the word. Regretfully this is a necessary evil and it is a good 5-10 minutes you will never get back, but it is something we all need to do. Thanks again
You have the best videos your not in it for the money you really want to help people. I love that about your videos. I went to uavcooach web site took the test in less then 10 mins. I not as fast as you but it was easy and now I have my certificate THANKS RUSS
Thanks Russ! It took me about 15 minutes to complete, download and print out my TRUST certificate. Truly appreciate the info!
Thanks for getting this out there, Russ!
Thanks Russ for providing this information and the links for the test.
The key piece of info that I was wondering about was if I needed to take it even though I have my 107. Thanks for answering that, Russ.

You need to stop asking for licenses to do what a free man with God given Rights. Not government given if get a license. Our hobby is toy Drones. Planes.. cars . Not one person in the history of our hobby has ever been killed or seriously hurt. So not about safety.. that should be very obvious. What is your conclusions based off that fact alone. If not About safety. Which it's not. Then why. You do enjoy and value your freedom?? Your a fucking Sheep. Stop Helping them take our rights. It hurt your feeling's? So be it. Not One! Why did you get your 107 ? Wasn't for safety.. so why?

Mavic pro owner here. Been watching your channel since inception. Thanks for the info, I signed up took the test, took me about 15 minutes, and got a 100%. All of it is just general knowledge and basic common sense. Gladly screenshotted my proof. Keep up the great content.
Thank you. Just took it and passed it. Seems like basic knowledge stuff that every drone pilot should be knowledgeable on.
Thanks! I already owned my part 107 for years and recently renewed but I did this one too, took me minutes!
Greg from the Pilot institute was the first video that I saw on this topic and you were the second. Congratulations for providing timely information. I got his notice because I had gone through his training.

I saw something about this test on the Mavic Pilots forum. I started to read through the posts and said, "You know what? I'm going to cut to the chase and go get Russ' take on it on the 51 Drones channel." Thanks Russ! We can always count on you for the latest information.
Thanks dude!!!! Completed my in 10 mins.

Great video Russ! Took the Trust test and it was an absolute breeze!
Thanks for the information. It doesn’t really matter what any of us think about it, we’ve got to do it. So I’m off to get mine in a minute.
Thanks for always providing great information. Happy Flying! Hey guys, took the test at 8 o'clock this morning... pass and already have my certificate. Thanks Russ again for the outstanding information, "We All appreciate it".
Perfect. JUST what I was looking for - thanks !
Thank you for this! I'm doing the test right now. I think this is great and a step in the right direction as we approach the remote ID deadline.
Thank you for the info ! And keeping me up to date !. Test passed (107) :)
Thanks for the great video! I just took the test and took about 10-15 mins. I think its great for new recreational flyers like myself with no 107 license.
Took mine yesterday - Easy Took me just a few minutes to complete.
Took the test and it was easy like you said. Thinking about taking the part 107 soon.
Thanks so much for this. Done in ten minutes
easy test. was not aware of it until Iwatched your video. Thanks
You are the first person to call a quad copter - a quad copter. Every RC aircraft is in fact a drone. No human is onboard to fly it. Including our military drones. I have encountered some intense conversations with a few people because they think airplanes and helicopters are not Drones. They say the Drone law is for Drones only. Lol. And I say “Yes. True. “. They don’t understand the terminology. You are the only person I have heard address this. Thank you.
Thank you Russ! New sub here. I just took the test which took about 20 minutes and I got them all correct the first time. I have been flying my drone for about three years now. Again, thanks
Done. Thanks Russ
One last video before I go to bed. Still had enough time to pass the test and get my certificate! Thanks! 👍
Great video ! Completed and got my certificate ! Thanks !
Thanks, Russ. Another hoop fulfilled.
Did not even check to see how long it took....but definitely under 15 minutes...much of it is common sense and I would have gotten the question right without reading the information prior to the quizzes....every question answered correctly the first time...YEA!!!!....piece of cake for all COMMON SENSE people. Glad it was SO EASY. And thanks for providing the website to complete the training.
Took the test and done, was waiting for it. 100% done! Printed and Laminated it already.
Thanx for the news update, I got my TRUST cert in short order :D
Its easy to do and only took me a few minutes to complete. Thanks for informing us!
