I am going to upload a fixed version soon. Issue with this one is that the firing order of the cylinders simply doesn't work too well with engine simulator. The F1 v8 firing order is (1-5)-(3-7)-(4-8)-(2-6) (bank 1 is 1-5 and bank 2 is 5-8). The fixed version will have 8 rod journals so each cylinder is symmetrical to the neighbouring cylinder in the opposite bank. Fixed version : kzread.info/dash/bejne/hJmLj8ptj9bWZso.html

Most of the artifacts you hear in videos of this software is due to incorrect/physically impossible numbers being used which results in an unstable fluid simulation.

this program is so damn impressive. it's a rigid-body simulator that's somehow capable of producing sounds like this in real time. Nearly 20,000 RPM translates to 333 rotations per second. And each rotation influenced by 8 rigid body pistons with gas combustion physics. 333 of anything per second is a lot, but this is especially impressive.

As you can see in the middle left section, the simulation actually runs at 10khz, and the frequency is completely editable, if your computer handles it and the model isn't too complicated you can go well above that

it's not really that impressive physics simulation wise but the sound generation and customizability is great

They used flat plane cranks instead of cross plane cranks. Incredible job, been at it for weeks and can't even get a single cylinder to rev that high

The F1 engine has no flywheel, it goes instantly up and down, that's how sometimes it has been used to "play" songs and anthems 😀

GOD DANG IT I can't wait until this becomes an ultra realistic engine sim, because right now even if this is in development it still sounds amazing, and I love this idea. I hope the creator continues building this program to the very best. But no pressure on him/her or anything.

The artifacts in this video are not related to the simulator or any "lack of testing". The flow numbers seem way too high and it's causing unstable behavior. Also, this was not a compilation of years of work. It was about 4 months of work since around December of 2021. It's been public since day one, but no one paid attention to it until my video was released.

reminds me when I had my BMWs 1000rr and would take it to the drag track. OMG that drag strip would get so short so fast.

All the experts talking about how it sounds. It's a new software so flywheel adjustments may be a future occurence, F1 v8s will sound close to that if they had the capacity to rev to near 18k under all the circumstances that the engine in the video underwent including exhaust

could you theoretically use this program to figure out what certain "Impossible" engines could sound like eg. v20, v7 or 20-cylinder Radial or flat/boxer engines? or does this program run solely off the statistics of previously engineered engines? I have now watched multiple cursed engine Layouts and I reckon its beautiful

Yes it is possible to create imaginary engines. I have seen inline 7 and VR7 engines being run. However, it must still be programmed to actually be able to run (correct firing order, correct camshaft position etc.) It is right now very complex to do and it is much easier to rely on engines made by other users. The website of this simulator shows a whole catalog of user uploaded engine simulations. There are also radial and flat engines. Even twin and triple crank engines. (I am still waiting for the VW VR5 engine, as seen in my profile picture)

That doesn't sound like an F1 engine at high revs.

Nope, I think this person made a V8 simulation based on a crossplane configuration (american style). The V8 engines used in Formula 1 are flatplane, like two regular four cylinder engines joint on a 90° angle. Ferraris use the same configuration for their V8 engines as well.
