It's faster but even then Massa only set a 1:11.875. If you got a 04' F1 car with a V10 and it had DRS with slicks then I'm sure it would have beat the 2018 time. The V8 cars aren't known for being particularly that fast. Sound like a dream though.

@@gondezableh4972 I know that, but my point is that the V8 cars weren't that quick in comparison to the V10s. The 2004 qualy lap records are mostly broken today but what I'm saying is that they were quick enough that if they had slicks and DRS they could beat a 2019 car. A V8 car with both of those things couldn't as we've discovered with the 2013 and 2012 cars which had both.

Bahamuttiamat massa put 2009 slicks on his 2008 car and did a 1:18 in Spain, that’s 3 seconds faster than the cars did in qualifying in 2008. There was not tire war anymore, so the tires weren’t as good as earlier grooved years

Cosmo Kramer 04 and 06 to me, not 2005 for obvious reasons, but the rubber they used then was amazingly durable for the grip. As far as slicks go, 2009 was a favorite for me with the wider front tires

This is an invalid comparison favoring the 2019 cars. Interlagos was resurfaced in 2014 significantly reducing lap times by 3-4 seconds per lap. Furthermore, the 2008 lap is on a race fuel load as opposed to the low fuel party mode qualifying of the 2019 lap. The 2014 resurfacing of Interlagos resulted in a pole time that year (infamously slow cars on average 2-3 seconds per lap slower than the preceding generation) of 1:10.023, nearly 2 seconds faster than the 2011 pole time of 1:11.918 (2012 and 2013 were both wet qualifyings, and regardless those cars were still marginally slower than 2011 due to the decreased effectiveness of their coanda blown diffusers)

The website is a database with all F1 drivers starting from 1950 and includes all their stats- even stats you wouldn’t think of are in there. It also includes every single qualifying and race results with fastest laps and other info. Pull up 2 tabs of the same site, one for ‘17-‘19 (current-gen) cars and the other for any era of your choice. Pick any race of your choosing and be prepared to see how fucking stupid you look. There’s your numbers you lazy simpleton jack off who probably got fooled by equating roaring sounds with speed lmao.
