Personally, for me, the best-looking and greatest F1 car ever built, with the one and only Nigel Mansell in the driving seat. Awesome!

It's remarkable that Nigel Mansell only became F1 world champion once because in the right car with the right setup Mansell would beat pretty much anyone including Senna and Prost

2:36 when mansell turns in the car bottoms out. Darn this goes dead straight. This car had active suspension, not like the one senna ended up driving. Its a little scary seeing this machine move. The car recalibrates in the corner unnaturally from the way a normal spring would. It dips and rises and dives and turns. Its uncanny. Totally incredible. Mansell said you had to throw it into a corner at full speed and trust the computer. This chassis just doesnt work without the active suspension. I just realized there is more clues to sennas accident in the characteristics of this car.

I know the FW14B not the most dominant F1 car of all time, but compared the the RB19 and MP4/4, this just seems much further ahead of the competition than the other two were. The MP4/4 was one of only a handful of cars to run the turbocharged engine regulations. Although it was far ahead of Ferrari and the complete dumpster fire that was the Lotus 100T, McLaren's traditional rivals such as Benneton and Williams were running completely different regulations that were far less superior (despite the FIA's attempts to handicap turbo cars), and Ferrari were much more focused on developing their new semi-automatic gearbox for 1989. Although the RB19 had the cool anti-dive and suspension trickery, apart from that there wasn't anything else that made it stand out from the competition and innovated and changed F1 forever (ok we haven't had enough time to assess whether the RB19 has made a significant impact on car design, but maybe in the future teams will look back to this car and make designs inspired from it). Another thing to note is that since the gaps in that season were very tight, the reason why the RB19 got so many poles and wins was because of Verstappen. Sergio Perez only finished second four times, as well as two wins in 22 races in 2023, whilst Patrese in 1992 managed six second places and a single win with twice as many retirements as Perez and only 16 rounds. And judging by their career stats they seem to be on a similar level in terms of driver skill. The FW14B stands out from these two other cars because it was just so far ahead of the competition whilst still using the same regulation set as the competition. To my knowledge, no other team had a drag reduction system like Williams, anti-lock brakes (at least in 1992, McLaren had them in 1993) and such advanced electronic systems. Combine this with the aerodynamic wizardry of Adrian Newey, and this car was simply unstoppable no matter who was driving it.
