Poor Francois he didn't deserve such a violent death. He was an F1 hero

He was such a good looking lad, like a cross between Joe Namath and Jim Morrison, and totally a straight up dude, he did not stab Jakie in the back like so many #1 and #2 drivers have. I feel for Jackie, he was bringing up this protege and bam he dies, last time Jackie raced 2

I was working as a padlock marshal at the Glen in 1973. I saw him and his girlfriend as they drove into the paddock in his Citroen Maserati on the day he died. So sad.

Strange , I didn´t remember him: I was just 7 at the time. I could remember the names of Jackie Stewart end Emerson Fittipaldi, but not Francois. I re-discovered his career and his tragedy just some months ago.....It was such a waste and a pity that this tragedy happened: he would have won the World Championship in 1974. Both he and the Tyrrell were so good.....

The 1973 track did not have the chicane in the Esses. That was added after Cevert's crash, in 1975.

In 1978 I was the fastest Formula Ford National car out of 64 cars through the chicane. Just saying.

@labulle104 It´s hard to accurately recreate the crash as it apparently was only seen by espectators and other drivers. Poor François, he didn't deserve such a violent end to a promising career, but those were the old days. I am too young to have lived them, but I still feel kind of nostalgic of that era. Recreating them in rFactor is as close as I can get to that.

Although'..as long as in time 'FRANCY' he still drive his famous of all time.

Where did you get the F1 73 mod? All I can find are 71 and 75.

@gold333 They are both converted from F1 Challenge and later enhanced by Tatinos. F1 73-74-75-76-77 are all his work and they have the same quality. I really can't choose between them :)
