@@mricci07 neuromorphic artificial intelligence. Nvidia made years ago an April's joke on it. They made a USB stick with an AI to play your games and win for you. Now fast forward to 2023 and we do have AI that can play games better than humans. They still do not run on sticks though. The big problem with those AIs is that unlike old cheat bots that hack the games that AI really just plays the game like a human would via the input and output of the game. So no hacking of the game required. It is not even required to have it installed on the same computer which of course means there is no anti cheat software that can detect them. And there never will be such software... superhuman performance of course can be detected but anything slightly below that could be just a very skilled player... welcome to the future, son. The fourth industrial revolution has begun.

@@mricci07 copy paste? I did not predict the future. I described the now on actual technology that is made and is used now. The Switch got input and output ports like any other computer... you can plug in controllers and you can capture the screen. There are people who have already turned their Switch into a Steam Deck. Star Craft and Dota got beaten by an AI made by big companies a few years ago. But now you can find AI playing and voice over a Tomb Raider game that was made at home by a single skilled AI designer... The only problem these days is compute power. But as it uses neuromorphic technology which is widely needed in the industry. It is only a matter of time until Nvidia made faster hardware. Their stock value skyrocketed for a reason. Given the fact that the fourth industrial revolution has already started as evidenced by the immense impact of ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion image generation that triggered massive changes in laybor law. Internet competitive games will be dead in a few years because it will be full of cheaters letting their AI play instead. In about a decade a General Purpose AI may appear too. According to Elon Musk it will be in ~6. However. Such AI are trained like a normal person unlike present AI that requires experts. That means that any idiot at home will be able to make an AI to play their games to achieve the highest scores.

Once that Stingray is in front and keeping that 478 km its over no amount off boost is going to help you catch up to it

Duuuude that Death Wind sneaky win was UNREAL. Boost into bumper cars to get around the grey racers? Absolutely clutch. Silence was rough though. I think you need to slow down a little more on that S-turn and hug the 2nd turn tighter(tough with other racers, I know.)

I got so lucky on Death Wind, haha. Yeah, I still need to get better at Silence no doubt, but it feels so rough at points if you aren't ahead/don't mess up on the first lap.

@@Cyberman65 mmm true. I think u gotta just bank the S-turn. With good grip it is tempting to keep the speed up, but for sharp turns you will maintain better speed if you just tap those shoulder buttons rather than hit the wall and also take damage.

Yeah the DW I inside corner was amazing. It took a second watch to realise precisely how clutch, with the spin attack on the blue beetle and bounce off of the wall combo, into a boost with just enough power left! Especially after such a battle with the 'Mute City' player the whole way.

I love this game. So happy we got a new SNES-style F-Zero!

What I find most baffling is that this driving does not seem much different from how I drive, and yet they get first place while I’m happy when I get into the top 25.

It's the calls on boosts and consistency at avoiding bumping grey, blue and red cars

Its mostly managing your boost, understanding when to boost and when to use your Super Meter. I have a full understanding of all 3 to let me win consistently. Also remembering when red/grey cars will drop. The hardest thing is avoiding blue cars at points that can mess up a whole race for you.

Keep playing alone and doing times and trying to improve more and more. This will make you master the tracks and learn to be faster in the game. In addition to knowing which cars can have the best times on each track. Of course, playing with a free track is one thing and playing with a track full of cars is another. But the experience of knowing all the tracks very well and knowing how to be very fast on them makes you a much better player. The secret to being very fast and becoming better and better is when training on an empty track, always trying to set the best times.

Amazing game, so tense all the time. Easy to learn and hard to master. Strategy and balance are essential too. The best part is that nintendo shows how fun is more important than realistcis graphics

Only thing that sucks is that usually the vast majority of people will have pulled out by the final race, like it happened in this video. It's inevitable, and even understandable, but the difference between 99 players and 20 is palpable.

One of the best if not the best f-99 youtubers great stuff. It feels like if you mess up the silence turn then everyone just slams into you making it worse.

This isn’t as big an accomplishment as winning a whole GP but I finally FINISHED one yesterday and I was never really good at F-Zero so I will consider that a win for me. Still watching videos like this makes me want to improve so bad because it just looks so satisfying and actually attainable with practice. Really great racing!!

thx for this, learned loads. is there a reason why you dont use the strafe more often? isnt it more optimal for speed when driving on a straight line and to dodge some grey and red npc cars sometimes tho?

From what I’ve read, strafe does drop speed when turning, so with machines like FS which have really good grip, it’s often faster to just turn normally

I personally use the technique of doing 3/4 KOs in races 1 and 2, to then run the other races with the Wild Goose. Do you think this strategy is also good ? 🙂

What is your start boost technique? I thought the boost was just before the final beep but I see you press accelerator around the 2nd beep or so. Do you let up at some point before the start?

He prematurely charges up so that he can recover faster as the use of Start Boost at the last Beep will lead your engine to stall out longer.

Each vehicle has a different timing for the starter boost. Stingray's timing is the earliest, you can accelerate right after the second beep.

Managed to win Queen league and a Mini prix but I seem unable to win Knight league, kudos to you.

gonna try and learn stingray just for that color scheme, how to unlock the 2 parts of it?

as someone who has never played f-zero, my strategy was to boost in the straight areas, i didnt even think to boost in the offroad. well needless to say the highest i ever ranked was 11th and i'm not even sure how i did that lol

Silence is tough

Im pretty good in ghost mode. I can drive, but i suck at avoiding the last turn blue and red bumpers. Ive gone in almost 30 hours, ranked S-, level 50, and i have yet to win a race. Ive gone close countless times, but always fuck up at the end

4:30 Gameplay/music sync

I've beaten every cup on all machines except stingray knight league because of Deathwind! The beginning before you get boost is so long and Stingray's acceleration is so ass that everyone gets really far ahead in the beginning due to better accel and I can't catch up in the straightaways afterward because everybody has access to the boost pads. Not sure what you're doing different exactly because you're 18th by the time you get boost power and I'm consistently 40th or 39th.

Nice win man but it really feels luck reliant who wins especially nowadays when getting a frontrun started is almost near impossible without stingray plus skyway. People have gotten so much better it feels awful playing GF and BF now. Goose is too strong at its role or BF and GF are not durable enough and don't have good enough tradeoffs. BF definitely should have been more durable than Stingray at the very least. People playing more aggressively at the start has made it impossible for boost reliant vehicles to get more consistent wins and those rely on luck heavily now. If a GF goes for frontrunning a goose has the least boost consumption in the game meaning they can outpace fox on the first lap and force them into the pack to die or force them to waste all their boost and potentially die on the final boost push. Usually not required this situation since people go ham now and being behind the pack is still very close to first place.

Thanks. It'll probably be more skill oriented later on when tougher tracks come out, especially Fire Field. Its part of the reason Golden Fox is doing so well now, where I think it'll fall off later.

I think the problem is lack of control to stuff like skyway and boost since both use boost button. Also the fact that Goose consumes the least boost means it also can boost the most in one lap. Add in how Goose is second fastest top speed vehicle and a total tank. The shift away from Golden Fox is already happening. I hardly see a Golden fox win nowadays and i had to fight all night for the black blue falcon skin and ended up only winning by a super lucky skyway and vehicle kill. Every day i wish more and more that they incorporated more elements form X and GX like hitting the cockpit of a pilot does increased damage and side attacks to ko people at the start of a race. One thing i can say with confidence though is Asia is the best at Fzero 99 in terms of region skill. Whenever i get put into an Asian lobby there is like 50% goose and if i am not playing Goose or stingray its a total strugglebus. Even then other players are starting to catch on that Fzero even 99 is all about aggression and boost management. I think Golden Fox was doing well because people were playing way too passive and basically letting them boost for free and many didn't understand what the role of Goose was or how its played. I also don't see the game getting more skillbased even when the new cups get added though sadly because of lucky bumpers but most of all skyway is almost like a hack at times. In white Snow and Port Town 2 when behind enough you can skip the whole track for one lap. Its so broken and mid at the same time because of lack of control, positioning changing the duration and the fact you can extend it around tight turns.I really hope 99 generated or generates enough hype for a new Fzero cause idk if i could play this for a super long time like GX. @@Cyberman65

Perfect driving won't save a fox from a herd of hungry goosers and aggressive racers. If Fox gets a huge lead yes they win but skyway exists as well so they should not be winning races at all imo. If you get put in a lobby full of aggressive racers you will see just how much boost reliant vehicles struggle. @@94jmbottaro

i furiously hate the stats song now.. its almost as if the ease thatdecended from it tries to run away from being enjoyed. it has its legacy, and is closely related or even a clone of the outrun stats music and is one of my all time favourites. i allready recorded chiptune at the age of 8 1990 or just kept my gameboy open to listen to a particular stage song. It would be ok if the original didnt exist.

You are good, but you need to learn to be better. I have a lot of experience with F-Zero on the SNES and I'm much faster and especially technical than you. You slow down in certain corners that you can just do with your foot on the floor using this car. The Knights League tracks are very easy. This is the best car for curves, you need to better master the technique of sliding through curves without slowing down too much.

That depends, if you at max speed, blipping through the accelarator a little on curves is a good thing. The dude who holds the world record for mute city does that.
