ABOUT F.W. DE KLERK: Frederik Willem de Klerk (born 18 March 1936), was the seventh and last State President of apartheid-era South Africa, serving from September 1989 to May 1994. De Klerk was also leader of the National Party (which later became the New National Party) from February 1989 to September 1997.
De Klerk brokered the end of apartheid, South Africa's racial segregation policy, and supported the transformation of South Africa into a multi-racial democracy by entering into the negotiations that resulted in all citizens, including the country's black majority, having equal voting and other rights. He won the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Peace Prize in 1991, the Prince of Asturias Award in 1992 and the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 along with Nelson Mandela for his role in the ending of apartheid.
He was one of the deputy presidents of South Africa during the presidency of Nelson Mandela until 1996, the last white person to hold the position to date. In 1997 he retired from active politics. As of 2011 he remains active as a lecturer internationally.
ABOUT THE OXFORD UNION SOCIETY: The Union is the world's most prestigious debating society, with an unparalleled reputation for bringing international guests and speakers to Oxford. It has been established for 189 years, aiming to promote debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe.

When will South Africa elect quality leadership that governs based on there peoples interest holistically and not only for there own motives or for there own racial groups benefit. As a South African myself I feel that there is more of a subtle reverse apartheid kind of policy being initiated under the guise of empowerment with a hint of corporate corruption that manipulates its leadership by creating policies that contributes to social divide and I can confidently say that its taking its toll in South Africa. We need a leader, a true, genuine leader that will follow the morally correct path even though all odds are against him/her, and who's vision is not only for the today, but for tomorrow and whatever lies ahead.

THIS reminds me of a lot of lot of what happened. SouthAfrica let's change and start afresh and stick together like Mandela's Wishes. Mandela didn't want to come out of Prison because he found that the country was still not t free as he wished. The SouthAfricans don't feel here free as they still demand the ( Giving of the Land officially to black people.). This does'nt mean we. won't stay together.Change of Papers and change of Policies maybe.,? Because there is still Apartheid here. There is still Rasism , Discrimination here in this country.( Lot of Colourbar) here. These must be officially stopped.

@Kwaka Adzatia If after 30 years of 'Democracy' and the society is still unequal what is the problem? For example, Germany and Japan had been utterly decimated during WW2 but yet a few years after it they were back to normal. Why, because they put effort into educating the populace and into building their Countrys. What happened in South Africa, the Majority inhereted the Super Power of Africa and what happened? Absolutely nothing, no serious effort to educate the populace and no hard work. So what do you expect? Get the Majority to pull finger instead of expecting handouts and maybe there wouldn't be an 'Unequal Society'.

I think his wife's fate is a good metaphor for how he treated the people who entrusted him with power. She trusted him and was married to him for almost four decades. He abandoned her for the daughter of a millionaire who was financially helping his party, even as the wife protested. She was loyal to her people and never bowed to Mandela. She was found strangled and knifed by her African guard, and the media initially said it was a suicide rather than a murder. He is a traitor and a swindler. I am not South African, but I consider him to be one of the most disgusting traitors of the 20th century.

Under Apartheid, white children had their own well furnished schools where they were taught that they are superior to everyone else, their teachers, politicians, business leaders, parents, military leaders and even their Christian reverends in churches taught them from the Bible that they were superior God's people from Bible passages. Suddenly the same people changed their tone and say accept others as equals. Please understand their confusion. There is a story of one white teenager confronting his parents when they tried to instil subtle racial superiority in him. Then non-whites are not allowed the two year military service after high school, best non whites can get is being an 'askari' Gradually they will come to terms that SA has changed. Economic change is coming too. Imagine growing up being told that Mandela in a hardened TERRORIST that should die in prison, suddenly he is your president and later the most celebrated statesman around the world with noble PEACE prize trophy, I would be confused.

The way you describe white schools and what we were apparently taught is completely false. Our studies were purely academic and neutral to any political ideas. Today, however, politics dominate everything - even in schools. Even my parents never spoke about politics and never forced political ideas on me. When they voted, they NEVER revealed who they voted for. Not even to each other! As for the churches... the church I grew up in never ever discussed politics during services. It was all about God and community. You, my friend, have no idea what you are talking about.

Let’s be very clear - the US never supported ZA. Their backyard was filthy with racism. Don’t complain about ZA. The US are only on the scene for their own good. “Might is Right”! The sanctions imposed by the US against ZA were astonishing. No trade, no arms, no oil, not even Kruger Rands, monetary. But when the US wanted ZA to “Help” their ally, Jonas Savimbe - ZA was OK. US dirty war in Angola which ZA had no part in until Kissinger got involved. No help with any arms, troops etc - ZA got involved in a war which escalated, involving Russia, Cuba, East Germany and Angolan forces and at the peak of this US dirty war - Kissinger dropped ZA like a hotcake to face the communistic forces on our own. What Help? In 1979 the US ambassador to ZA had an airplane which was allowed in ZA airspace for his usage - only to find it was a spy plane - taking sensitive pictures of our installations for the benefit of the Pentagon. How filthy is that? Friend? Helping ZA? Wherever in the world the US have been - it has been an absolute debarkle. Always wanting to “Kiss Ass”. Weapons of mass destruction - Iraq. Whaaat? Got their ass kicked. Iran - could not even land their own helicopters on their embassy roof? And got kicked out. Saigon - what a mess - got their ass kicked again. Vietnam - lost that war to the Vietcong - some ratty tatty communistic army. OMG Afghanistan - lost that war to the Taliban. What a mess. In the Horn of Africa - against some backyard terrorist malisha - Clinton pulled his forces out - as they were getting their ass kicked badly. You want to carry on - those are just the highlights. This nation helps nobody - Had to hide behind Atomic Bombs in Japan - as the US new they could not defeat Japan on the ground. This nation is all wind and nothing else. As for Biden - what a fool.

WHO IS ALMIGHTY ALLAH WHO PROTECTS HUMANS ON EARTH FROM SOLAR WINDS WHAT IF THERE IS NO PROTECTIVE SHIELD Almighty Allah says: و جعلنا السماء سقفا محفوظا و هم عن آياتها معرضون " And We have made the sky as a roof withheld (from them),Yet they turn from its portents. (Qur'an,21:32) This verse indicates to that our life on Earth is protected from solar rediations and atomic charged solar winds, meteors and other cosmic attacks, pose a threat to living things on Earth. Asteroids and meteorites have penetrated the atmosphere and hit the earth throughout the course of history. First of all let us make it clear that the word " السماء" (Sama) is used in the above verse which is singular thus it refers to the complete known universe. Space researches explains that the " سقفا محفوظا" (protecting roof) has very vast meaning which refers to all magnetic fields discoverd in space from original magnetic field to the Earth's magnatic field to atmospheric layers around the earth. 1. Troposphere 2. Stratosphere 3. Ozone 4. Mesosphere 5. Thermosphere 6. Ionosphere 7. Exosphere Functions of these layere are to protect Earth from : 1. If these layers have not been existed, life could not be possible on earth. They protect life by providing weathers. Moreover most of Oxygen occurs in this region is responsible for the life of Aerobic organisms. 2. Ozone layer absorbs Ultra Voilet Radiations and thus protects life from hazardous radiations of the Sun. Moreover it provides "Green House Effect" which is responsible for maintaining comfortable temperature on Earth. 3. Mesosphere burns up million of meteors striking the Earth and thus protects Earth from these meteors. 4. Exosphere absorbs harmful radiations from the sun protecting layers underneath. Above discussion makes it clear that" السما" (sky)in the above verse means the universe. It means that Almighty Allah has protected our life on earth form all kind of threats and attacks from space. Because the magnetic fields have covered the universe including the earth like an umbrella. بديع السموات والأرض إذا قضى أمرا فإنما يقول له كن فيكون o ( البقرة : ١١٧) The Originator of the heavens and the earth! If it weren’t for the brutal character of God in your religion and if the way you see His universality and that sort of personality were the character of God… I would become a Muslim. I already have felt like since I met God that I was one. I just can’t justify the paradoxes in both Islam and Christianity and how both seem to be hijacked by extremely bigoted and wronged individuals who would make it impossible to be a part of the religious community. This critique is more of Christianity since that’s my background.
