Since I'm so busy making new video tutorial lessons all the time and teaching guitar, I probably won't have time to answer individual questions regarding guitar. My other videos cover beginner, advanced and intermediate levels. I teach rock, blues, country and just about any other style on electric or acoustic. If you can't find your answer from the resources at the website above, keep digging into my vids, and I'm sure you will find your answer. Keep practicing!!!

@Zibba Thank you my friend. Yes, they are barred if NOT played in the open position.
Erich every time I become tired of playing guitar I just put one of these videos on, before I notice it my guitar is back on my lap and I'm sooo eager to learn. Thanks for the motivation, you are my only real teacher.
Tell you what. Never checked out the CAGED system but it's pretty cool to get beginner to intermediate players used to different versions of chords. Didn't realise that it just took the shapes of open chords and put them in different positions. They're not strictly inversions are they, 'forms' is a good word. Like it a lot.
you're the best teacher i've ever had!
great lesson man I was honestly lost on the whole drop to D tuning and what not before i watched this thanks :D
@yourguitarsage you should do a video on tips and ways to get better at transcribing! you're the best.
Good Stuff! You filled in a lot of blanks for me. I enjoyed your light hearted approch to teaching. Thanks
Hey m an thanks for this , you explained the caged system better than anyone ive seen before , made alot more sense, and also the numbering syste.... great playing, great lesson man... Thanks alot. wish i lived near all these youtube guitar teachers, or atleast one so i could take some lessons
And finally CAGED makes sense. Cheers!

kablooie! that was my mind being blown. thank you.
Wow there is so much great information in here, you might want want to rename the title to include the caged and number system. Best/easiest explanation yet on these systems hidden behind a title I almost didn't watch. I have both your e-books, great job!
Erich you are great you helped me a lot! thanks!
Thanks I didn't even know this song's got an alternative name...here in germany they aired it uncensored the whole day...dont know which I like best
thanks for the lesson! great teacher!!!
Nice lesson I got caged and Nashville concepts now - Thank you!
Erich, that was awesome - had a little bit of a brain melt due to overload but that is awesome info. I need to go CAGED school for a bit, off to the woodshed. Remember everyone - if it was easy everyone would be good!! Thank you O-Sage-e-wan :)
perfect lesson! thanks!
This guy is my hero
@Wilaver388 Good idea! I will try to remember.
Nice lesson, that extra stuff was really helpful. Thanks a lot!
That was really helpful. I have learned what I always wanted to learn since I have learned how to play guitar by myself. I appreciate the time you give us. Thankyou Mr. Chuck Norris... A friend from Peru.
Great video as always, however the first chord of the bridge is III7, i.e. in Cmaj it's an E7! You can also play a D7 instead of Dm in the following few bars. Funks it up a little.
Very good lesson there man
I looove the sound of your guitar. It is so strong and clean :)
Great lesson,I don't even particularly like this song but love the guitar version of it..didn't even know there was guitar in this!
Learned a lot from this lesson. Thank you.

@TrevMusicXpert Yeeeah right on, it gives the song a funk. :)
Well, ya know what? I'm glad you stuck around too :) I appreciate friend like you and hope you follow me on FB & Twitter. e :)
I play D7 it makes it sound cool
@Torste0908 Thank you for telling me that. That is rocket fuel for more vids! :) e
You awesome can you make the video explin how i can play Bon Jovi - It's My Life in acoustic guitar thx ;)
Do you bar those cords when you went up the neck when you were talking about the caged system? I learn more from 1 of your videos than I do from my guitar teacher in a school year. Thanks.
@MClown69 correction its billy madison when hes talking to the penquin when hes drunk lmfao...
Why is D and not Dm ? I thought the scale says the second, third and sixth were minor, the seventh Diminished and First, fourth, and fifth Major.
@yourguitarsage rocket fuel for lessons?? how about a lesson on some rocket man?
Question. Why is it a major 2 chord (with a not occurring in C major F# as the third) and not the occurring within the scale minor 2? Or does the Nashville Number System assume major unless stated otherwise? Or is it actually a modal scale with a raised fifth scale tone, but you play a flat fifth chord? Or is it the simple matter of the F# merely being an accidental?
@tullkass14 I would also like to know. Also, where did you get that scale info? In the e-book? I gotta get that e-book. ^_^
i didnt really get the caged thing, how do you play those chords in different forms, where abouts were your fingers
What was the strumming pattern for the pick?
@agrevane If you dont like the song, why did you watch the video then? says what song in the title, you know ;)
is ur guitar an acoustic electric? if so is it plugged in its sounds awesme
@ 1:04, what strong are you actually picking. It's a little too fast for me to notice. And I know it's not the real point of the video sorry
@renouwa5 Been wondering the same thing. Can we get this answered?
@streetsurf194 LOL i didn't when I saw it just had to say something because it drives me nut every time I here it come on the Radio.
hey can you do Better Than Revenge by Taylor Swift pleasssse?
@parmezans got my info from many places, music theory helps a lot to understand people like Yourguitarsage, when they are giving a lesson, I gotta check that e-book, but these youtubers were also of enormous help to me : Richardjpugh, Waltribeiro, etc etc, so many good people in You tube, Thanks so much to everyone, they make me enjoy music a lot more.
@danielostler all you need is a little patience... and brains (:
Something wrong with lyrics dot com??? :-) Good job man.
hahha "you naughty little kids!" hahaha
3:44 Can someone please tell me the tab for that part of the bridge, I don't know how to play those chords :c
@1Uchi1
6 жыл бұрын
Or at least tell me how to do the A major with the C sharp in the bass
man i wish i was that good
Pause at 00:16
the song in four *looks with a FOUR manner* yeah? :D :D LOL
you look tired, get some rest, great tutorial.
I ddun know what to duuu
@ShaneTube23 Nope thus guy was awesome Or as my family would say He's got the jalapeño sauce
Historically the biggest hits are always 3-4 chords, wierd. The average listener cant absorb any more than that. A secret to success.
haha at 4:41 or so you sound just like adam sandler in happy gilmore haha
@Torste0908 i do the same thing :D
thumbs up if you finished the video
I lost interest when your "c-like chord" looked nothing like a c-chord at around 6:30. I'd rather you tell us exactly what it is you are doing so we can actually do it too.
i think my fingers are to fat to play an f chord
@psufanatic18 10$
you remind me of ryan reynolds...
alot more then that = swear words xD
Don't Sing!!! I cant hear the guitar!!! -_- xD
Just hate this song. The play it to death on the radio and it sucks. It's like an out of date.
