My father used to play the violin, very beautifully, I admired him. When my father died I was 10 years old, I didn’t cry on the day of his funeral, I couldn’t, somehow. When I turned 11 years old I started playing the violin to represent the tears I couldn’t let out that day, and give my late mourns. Now that I’m 16 years old, I finally cried while playing this piece, I cried like never before. This means so much to me, by the fact that these notes made me finally cry my father’s death after those years.

I normally never cry when listening to music, except for when that specific song has a deeper, personal meaning for me, for instance when it triggers a memory. I was watching the movie John Wick 4 today and this song is somewhere at the beginning. I immediately stopped the movie and looked it up as I knew the piano version (I used to play too) but not the one with violin. Well, I had tears streaming down my face, for no reason except for the music itself. I must have listened to it 10 times in a row. This is truly otherworldly beautiful, I still have goosebumps. I'm turning into my dad I think, since he told me that he sometimes cries when listening to classical music and at the time I thought that while I understood, I never had that happen to me. Now it did happen to me and now I truly understand. Turning into my dad is not such a bad thing, he is a good man

I would put it differently. Her facial expression shows how well she knows the piece. It's a tribute to her understanding, as not only a musician, but a human as well. There are many people in the world capable of playing this piece without fail, probably thousands. However there are only a few who truly understands the intended way the composer would have it played, and who are able to play it as such. This duo does, and thus the message is conveyed accordingly. The great classical artists are not the skillfull ones, who practise 10+ hours every day. Rather the ones who live and breathe it, those who submerge themselves in it, and let their souls do the playing. Then again. What do I know. I'm just a random comment on the internet ;)

@David Crespo The performance is absolutely terrible, but still it's your choice listening to awful music and I am in the place to judge, all I was gonna say is that the music is way overrated and so I need to do right thing step up against it. People should try listening to other music so that they understand what good music really is and performances like this should not be appreciated as much.

I genuinely can't decide which is the more emotional (not better, just more easily able to convery the emotion of a piece) instrument, piano or violin... And I'm sure people will argue both sides. I play the piano and certainly many pieces grip you by the heart, but then someone plays a piano piece on the violin and it becomes a whole different sound for the piece. And the same in reverse!

So the next school year I signed up for orchestra, that was 6 years ago. I graduated High School this year sticking with the violin and it made my life so much better. I made friends and memories while being in Orchestra. I would've been nothing without it! Hearing this piece again played gorgeously by you totally reminded me of my love for music, so thanks! :D Man, all those years and I haven't learned this piece yet, haha!

Hi, Gemma. I know you read all of these so I'd just like to say for the past 4 weeks your music has helped me deal with a lot of things. I've had a lot happen this past month and this is comforting. Thank you.

I realised i heard this song 6 years ago in a movie, "karate kid". Listening to this brought me such joy- When I first heard it, the sounds were too loud for me at the time, now, it's simply soothing and a joy to hear.
