I'm sure the F-4F will get better Sidewinders at some point, but it's still weird to see a Phantom without Sparrows of any kind. Unfortunately, they can't even be added by Gaijin logic, because not only were they never used by Germany's Phantoms, they removed the necessary equipment too. One of the best Phantom paintjobs though. Black and red is always cool, but I honestly just prefer the standard camo.

@@diasseitkaliyev8614 "late f4f phantom" is still a f4f without sparrow guidance equipment. F-4F late that we have in game refers to the upgraded F-4s in german service which were integrated with AGM-65. Germans upgraded some of their Phantoms to F-4F ICE standard which were equipped with new avionics, new radar (from F-18), new RWR and some other minor changes. When it comes to ordinance they received AIM-120 AMRAAM - first and only radar missile carried by german F-4s. It also could be equipped with AIM-9L (like earlier F-4F) or with IRIS-T. All this was due to the delays of the first batch of eurofighters.

I'm still waiting on the F-4F to get AIM-9Ls to make up for the lack of AIM-7s and I am waiting on the F-4F ICE which had AIM-120s and a better radar to come later. The F-4F really should get the 9Ls especially seeing as better and better aircraft are being added and seeing as aircraft that have been in the game can already best it due to better missiles/engagement options

3:37 I love that you keep finding ways to describe the AIM-9E almost everytime a new review video mentions it. From "basically an AIM-9B" to "Dont take shots you know an AIM-9B" into "Basically an AIM-9B with an uncaged seeker". Basically an inside joke on how shit of a missile the AIM-9E is whilst fighting againts high G all aspects in that BR

4:01 New comers and veterans! Use Constantly Computed Release Point (CCRP) with F-4F. Press "Switch mission bombing target" key, this will automatically place the target point on one of the "mini-bases". Fly fast and low towards your targeted mini-base and keep pressing the Bomb Release button until you reach the target. Select "drop bomb series" before you spawn. Good luck and happy grinding.

You have perfectly described my thoughts on this plane. I really tried to make this work consistently in a true air to air role, but i couldnt. I have found that taking the gunpods and making agressive head ons sort of work, but they are always risky. And the pods make you turn like a bus full of overweight people…

This thing needs AIM-9Ls like crazy to remain relevant. Makes no sense in 11.0+ games without them. Also the fact it somehow doesn't get the triple Maverick mounts is... Interesting. But Germany already has the stupid MLA so Gaijin will never correct these things most likely

@@Anon-yi9yn Germany developed exactly 0 combat aircraft on its own during the cold war. And for west german 3rd and 4th gen jets, we only have the Tornado IDS (not really suited for AA combat at all) and the F-4F ICE (too OP for the game at the moment) left. Really not that many options, not even if we count the east german copypaste jets, so hard to consider Germany a major nation at air top tier. Ground top tier it's a whole different story of course.

They never had LAU-66 and thus they can't get 6 Mavericks.

The F-4F Early doesn't usually get the love it deserves, 1400 kmh maneuverable jet at 10.3 with 4 aim9J's and a KILLER gun, oh and if you want to be CAS it has you covered with a huge selection of bombs, oh and did I mention its 10.3 which means it can fucking see 9.3? WHICH I see more often than 11.3? Most fun plane I own man, the TT version of it is pretty lacking tbh

@@spinster4000 well most Fighters can have 4+ Sidewinders and each Dodge slows you down. But I agree its a cool and good Plane at 10.3. Its possible to dodge yes but Planes like F-4E/J MiG23 MF/MLx Viggen F-14 are better in near every Aspect.

People complain about the F4F not having sparrows, yet, when do you ever use them? I can't keep a lock long enough for the sparrows to even hit. Just give the Aim-9L's and it'll be like normal phantom play with better Fox 2's.

I absolutely love the Phantom, and you can only imagine my excitement when the F-4F Early was revealed which meant I didn't have to grind to top-tier US to get one. With all that being said though, I absolutely *suck* at air battles, and even more so at top tier ones e: also a side note, but I'm extremely grateful that they changed the combat flaps to only use the leading edge so you don't tear off your actual flaps

F4f is basically useless at 10.7 which it usually get uptiered at 11.3 and without radar missile, the competitiveness is even worse than other f4 variant with radar missile. By adding Aim9L it would be reasonably to get it uptiered to 11.0

For 10.7 it has okay stuff. Compare to a few others at the same br but I can understand your issues. But I did fine with darken and some.others at 10.7/9.7 so can other with practice and fun

I've spent the last few weeks grinding Jaktviggen and when i finally bought it and use the gun i can't shoot anything at all and always lose in a headon. With disappointment i close the game immediately go to sleep. Compared to Draken 2x30mm is better and easier to aim. Dammit gaijin brings back tracers for swedish tech tree and forget that historically accurate bs things! Most of the elements in the game wasn't historically accurate at all!

I remember noticing the smiley face on the tailcone way back when I first played Ace Combat 04, however long ago that was.. I'm honestly surprised you didn't talk about that sooner in your other phantom reviews.

Hoping they buff the F-4F early as well, considering putting a talisman on it but the fact that it has no flares and can and does get up tiered to go against 11.3 at times is pretty hard to swallow

I bought talisman for F4F Early, pretty solid for its tier. Often sees 10.3 and 10.0 since most people bought F5C and A5C anyways. Still good at 10.3 even without flares, ngl worth it.

Hopefully the nxt patch brings parity to all nations, I really felt the limitation with this things 9Js only... (if it was me I would've named this F-4G, keeping things nice and standard of the nation of user). Yup that smiley face was something we all noticed early on.

Has a good mixed loadout. I prefer AGM-65s, AIM-9Js and the rest equiped with Zunis. They can proxy flying SAMs and not need to be accurate when ripple fired. In GRB you always have something to do with this loadout. Go for jets, helis with Vulcan and AIMs & tanks with Zunis or SPAA with Mavericks. It is perfect. If it get 9L soon it would be insanely good.

It's a shame Gaijin refuses to give it the AIM-9L's it should have and frankly needs, or to add the upgraded F-4F ICE which would add AMRAAMs. Sure, that would be a very strong loadout, too strong maybe, but they could elect to do what they did with the Italian F-16A ADF and give it long-range sparrows as a stand-in.

To all the people here asking for AIM-9L trust me, you DONT WANT THEM. The L is so useless and broken right now they make the only plane with them at tt (F-104 ASA) useless. The AIM-9J are much better missiles.
