Actually, 12-13 times more people fit for service, but only 3 times more trained soldiers and then 3 times more reserve. Israel however has 80% more tanks and 50% more planes, most of them more modern. It would be impossible for iran to devise any form of attack without ground or air superiority. This is without even considering the difference in training level and auxiliary technology between Israel and Iran. Any military conflict would end quickly, but obviously the Israely army could never occupy the country due to the lack of numbers on their side.

A war with Israel vrs Iran would be the most unlikely scenario. The only chance they got was if Iran sent troops to Syria or Lebanon to occupy Golan Heights. Note that Syria failed to take the Golan Heights from Israel in 1973 despite overwhelming numeral superiority. After all these years Israeli equipment has been upgraded while Syria and Iran are still using older equipment in which the technological superiority between them has widened. One reason why this scenario is very unlikely is because a huge Iranian and Syrian army would be more of a threat to Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Iran and Syria had supported groups that tried to overthrow the Jordanian monarchy in the past. Relationships between the Saudis and Iran had always been low ,hence, the Saudis and Jordanians would feel more threatened than Israel and would act in trying to prevent the build up in the first place.

How do you know? Are you assuming DCS is accurate ? Where Su-57 are "alien tech" ? We just don't know that. When it comes to stealth, everyone is guessing. We have Red Flat reports of ROOKIES getting 78:1 kill ratios (& saving veterans). No? Red Flag is supposed to be "most realistic" in sim. (and Gripens can hold their own). Seems like Rafale can [maintain] a good positioning once attained on an F22. But we just don't know what the actual specs of missiles & stealth are as they're updated.

  • @jamison884

@@trumanhw Binkov's part 2 essentially ignored the F-35 stealth advantage. Ground radar may help guide the Su-35's towards the F-35s, but a faint radar contact doesn't mean they will magically be able to gain a strong enough radar signal to lock onto them at maximum Fox-3 range; they would need to get much closer and well into the AIM-120D's range before they would be able to acquire a missile lock (and that's not even factoring in F-35 jamming efforts). Then he also ignored the F-35 towed decoy in part 2 (but not part 1?) along with all indications of the F-35 having exceptional above-average electronic warfare capabilities. He also states it's very expensive, but since he made this video it has come way down in per unit costs due to 14 countries (and growing) placing orders, to the point a true gen. 5 multirole jet is on par with or cheaper than the costs of some NATO gen. 4 fighters. Given Russia's terrible performance in Ukraine, where the rare Su-27 and Mig-29 UA fighters are able to down various Russian jets including Su-35s, in addition to Russia being unable to gain any semblance of air superiority even with a large numerical advantage in the skies and a massive investment in advanced mobile and long range SAM systems, the lack of Russia pilot training quality and hours, plus poorly maintained equipment, and an overstatement of Russian capabilities all appear to show the true picture. The F-35 has only improved in reputation since this video was made (such as the pilot reports in Red Flag for several years now, and F-35 pilots stating they would want the F-35 in actual combat scenarios above all other available jets for "unspecified/classified" reasons), while the Russian air force has suffered a severe downgrade in reputation and apparent capabilities.

Also I guess we'd have to count the US troops present on the territory since they'd be there, which would push the scales even further in favor of SK. Now if you have an all-out-war with allies and whatnot (still no nukes)... SK would get the help of Japan and the US. NK now... I just cannot see China entering a war against the US to bailout NK from its leader's stupidity. It's just not an option. That would leave NK alone vs among others the USA. As for nukes... NK can nuke Seoul. I don't think their IBCMs are ready. If they use the nuclear bomb, then... if the US retaliate with nukes that would easily turn NK into a wasteland. There is no way NK can win.

F-16: cant supercruise no stealth minimal load capability limited sensor fusion short range relies on external fuel tanks difficulty reaching top speed with combat load Phased Array Radar high wing load limiting the carry capacity of outer wing pylons F-35 can super cruise has stealth has a huge 18,000 lb load capability when carrying external mounts, and a capability to carry 8,000 lbs internally with stealth ability to super cruise with full internal combat load whilst retaining full aerodynamic performance DAS (distributed aperture system, enables a 360 degree infrared image which is analysed by on board computers to detect aircraft, missile launches and other threats whilst retaining the ability to slew sensors via pilot head alignment meaning that a pilot can see a SAM sight launch a missile, look at it, and slew all of his sensors on to it enabling him to eliminate it quickly) AESA (active electronically scanned array radar) enables tracking of 120 + targets simultaneously whilst also enabling high resolution radar image maps of target sites for all weather precision strike capability along with jamming capabilities and passive tracking for use when remaining in stealth) lifting body design reducing wing load and enabling more load baring capability for outer wing pylons Sensor Fusion, enables the F-35 to effectively go into a combat environment without weapons providing targeting solutions to weapons on board other aircraft/navy vessels or SAM sights, meaning that the F-35 can call weapons onto a target without firing any of its own. another capability of this is group formations of F-35's with only one members radar turned on and having that information shared among the formation, enabling concealment of formation size. if this scenario were to take place with two escort F-35's loading AA weapons externally, results would be different see image: www.google.com.au/search?q=F-35+internal+load&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjKrsiM_PPRAhXGgrwKHaAzDQ0QsAQIGg&biw=2560&bih=1334#imgrc=uMWA4snv50UXjM: these along with many other features make the F-35 superior to the F-16 in every way *excluding stealth* with stealth being an added benefit. in other words, stealth is the least important difference between the F-35 and the F-16

The advantage of this approach would be you could hang back and use the greater range of the AIM-120D, you would never get close to the ground defenses, as their only role would be to intercept air defenders. By hanging back and emitting, making tons of background noise, they draw the defender in, while masking any low signatures provided by the 'scout' element, then cut their loud jamming and start going with smart jamming to mix up the confusion and make it so they're not vulnerable to a home on jam shot, firing at maximum range on passive, while the further forward F-35s run the targeting links. The Ds never go active, so the RWR never lights up, they're fired from beyond IRST launch detection, and they're guided in the whole way giving them a high Pk, and minimizing the odds that the SU-35s manuver to avoid being hit, because they don't know they're fired on. The alternative of course being, constant random course correction, but that interferes with detection and reduces closure rate, which is one of the advantages the SU-35 has.

It is unrealistic to assume that F-22 would be available to escort all F-35. There are less than 200 F-22 built in the world and there will be thousands of F-35 in the USAF inventory alone plus hundreds more in other US services and hundreds more used by allies. There simply are not enough of them to provide coverage to more than a small fraction of the F-35s and none are being built.

Americans say that F-22 RCS is something about 0.0001m2(thank god they don't claim it to be 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000001m2) and that is just not realistic. Георгий Мурзич SU-35 can deal with it but the exchange ratios would be extremely lopsided in the Raptor's favor. Remember that the F-22 was designed purely for air to air and would demolish an F-35 in that role. From manoeuvrability, radar performance, stealth, and kinematic performance, the F-22 dominates. The PK of an AMRAAM fired from a raptor is significantly higher. Other than IRST and instantaneous turn, the SU-35 has no advantages over the raptor. In all honesty, the F-15C would probably whoop an SU-35 pretty hard. APG-63v3, kick-ass kinematic performance, AIM-9X, AIM-120C-7 (future support for AMRAAM-D), JHMCS, and pretty good agility. The F-15C could handle the flanker let alone a raptor....

IAB98Raptor unlike F-22, Su-35 will soon be able carry long range missiles able to hit targets making maneuvers at 9g, and that means that while F-22 will have to shoot for harassment, Su-35 will be able to launch its missile on a range where F-22 won't be able to effectively evade it. When it comes to other characteristics, your statement about raprors maneuvrability is really questionable because of its 2d thrust vectoring compared to 3D on Su-35. It also has less missiles and shorter range. The only real advantage F-22 can achieve is more time for getting to better position before the fight begins thanks to its good RCS. And even that is questionable, because switching raptors radar on would mean that it wont be able to get to Su-35 undetected

  • @trpilot6

The F-35 block 4 upgrades include expanding internal air to air missile capacity to 6 AIM-120D. Also the F35s don't fly in a conventional close 4 ship formation like that. Their ability to instantaneously share and receive information from anyone on the battlefield allows them to fly dozens of miles away from each other greatly extending the range of their sensors. They can also use missiles from nearby destroyers or cruisers or even other aircraft to down enemy targets, again greatly increasing their missile load.

Part 2 is the scenario that is most likely to happen, the Flankers would almost always have the advantage of greater numbers. "the flankers would almost always have the advantage of greater numbers" There are already 4 times more F-35s than there are Su-35s in existence. The gap will only increase too. It's highly unlikely to happen because there are too many false assumptions in the video. Detection ranges are ridiculously optimistic for the Su-35, and many advantages of the F-35 are just ignored.

The F35's can also call missiles from ships and outside bombers, which it would most likely do first to stay stealthy to SU35's. I'd also like to point out that most Sams use x-band to target since that is the only viable targeting option. As for L and S band, this allows the side with low band and mid band to see stealth are there, but they would not be able to target them until x-band or short band was locked on.

Modern sam missiles are having big active radar homing heads (just check size of s-300/400 missiles). You can try to use ground s-band radar to detect and launch missile to region where target is. Missile itself will find and destroy target on close range. Additionally you can use more power and focus to guide it with x-band. Stealth coating can not to absorb all of radiation in this case so range of detection will increase. You can use combination of radars to use triangulation and some other methods of detection with few radars. I think there are many other methods and speliaists know more. Sorry for bad english, i dont know it well.

  • @johndavis2589

Understand what you're saying, but the x-band on the missiles is not that good to pick up the stealth plane, so what ends up being fired at the plane are dumb rockets, which can still hit a plane, but are not likely to do so. And, your English is great, friend!

What if they use clever tactics which play to their strengths not the enemy? What if the quality of missiles improves? +the vu - I'm not considering jamming here. I've some science background, and from this point of view this whole stealth thing looks like the data analysis problem. All stealthy planes are visible, they are just difficult to *identify*. For example, yes they look like a duck at first glance, but ducks don't fly at transsonic speeds. Ducks don't change their RCS when you scan them with different frequencies. Ducks don't fly high. Ducks don't fire missiles. In essence, if it doesn't look like a duck and it doesn't quack like a duck, it's not a duck. Regarding tactics, all stealthy planes become clearly visible from below. With enough bandwidth you could create a data link between various detection devices and send the resulting coordinates directly to the warhead. At least in theory it seems possible to me... Where "enough bandwidth" and latency is probably below what's required for VOIP phone calls... I just don't know. I simply can't imagine that people paying huge bucks for those planes did not consider all that.

bakters : The whole point of stealth is not just data analysis problem. It has to do with signal-noise ratio. Lower RCS mean lower reflection strength , lower reflection mean the shorter range your radar can detect the signal. All stealth aircraft are visible, but the question is :" at what distance? ", and btw duck do have different RCS at different frequency too. basicsaboutaerodynamicsandavionics.wordpress.com/2016/04/12/radar-electronic-countermeasure/ While RCS value of stealth aircraft is much bigger from below, having a web of radar that can be constantly below them is pretty impossible.

This video, just like part 1, is fundamentally flawed in it's logic. First, it completely ignores the electronic warfare capabilities of the F-35. He mentions that the SU-35's will use jamming but forgets that the F-35's will also. Also, at 4:00 he claims the flankers can shoot first simply because they have more missiles and faster launch speed. Did he forget they are trying to shoot stealth fighters? They would need to get much closer just to detect the F-35's let alone start shooting, all the while being well within the F-35's detection and weapons envelope. The ground control cannot provide specific targeting or even exact position data and would likely be jammed by the F-35's. So the F-35's would most definitely shoot first and significantly degrade the defending force. Also, even in a visual fight the F-35's would have huge advantages due to the user-friendliness and ergonomics of their cockpit systems, and the superiority of their sensor technologies allowing them to lock and shoot faster and easier then the flankers.

Just like what Binkov said, once the F-35's radar is turned on, it will be detected by the Early warning radar, the F-35 will have much longer time to jam and see the EWR because of it's more powerful processing power than the F-35 because Russian EWRs uses L-band, thus reacting more quickly and can detect quickly. There are also many US pilots and analyzers that knows and agrees that F-35 will lose in Short range air-to-air combat because of the fact that this aircraft is specifically made for stealth and aims to avoid being seen and avoid engaging in dogfights. Lastly, this analysis video is just a hypothetical one and this fight would likely never happen due to many aspects in air combat.

There was one issue I didn't see mentioned- the speed of the plane depends on the amount of weapons carried, not just the altitude. The F-35 max speed is low, but it can carry a full load at a higher speed than a fully loaded Gen 4 plane. So a recalculation of the effect of speed would be useful.

  • @petetoma

I would also doubt the amount of missile hits allowed on F-35s. Even in WVR the heat seekers aren't as effective against F-35 b/c of reduced heat signature from its F-135 engine and unless guns are used, the missiles are in general much harder to target on F-35 again b/c of its all aspect stealth. Also i read on some forums that L-band radar may still not be long enough wave length to detect VLO plane from a sufficiently long distance. F-35 may choose to jam the ground based radar to prevent being detected so early warning may or may not happen. Anyways my point is that even though the vid is cool it's based on very shaky factual grounds and lots of baseless assumptions.

+Boxy Brown They focus their military expendature far more on defensive measures, hence why only one operational aircraft carrier is operation in the Russian fleet but a myriad of impressive air defense systems such as the S-400/500. I have no idea from where you pulled the nonsense of Russia's militaristic capabilities, but the victor never underestimated their opponent. But your kind can be of use, considering Napoleon once said to "Never interrupt your enemy while they're making a mistake".

Hwang Anderson The S-500 is operational, a deployment of them took place on Russia's southern border following the Turks downing a Russian jet in 2015. Given that you did not know this, I will take your claim with regards to AEGIS' supposed superiority with a pinch of salt.

F-22 Raptors are way better than the F-35 because: Agility , Weapons , Radar , Speed.. By the way F-22 Raptors can go at speeds at 2.2 mach but the F-35 can go at max speed of 1.6 mach . The F-22 have 8 missiles but the F-35 have only 4 missiles . F-22 Raptor is better than any aircraft in the world because when they maked an improvised "Dogfight" the F-22's We're just flyin' around and slowly improvised disaster of the sky and also there was only 1 F-22 vs 5 F-15! The Raptors are slightly faster than the Su-47.. there is a "Dogfight" scenario published on "KZread" . The radar is the most sophisticated aircraft radar in the world!! That's why the F-22 Raptor is the best in the world!

Xzcl Gaming Acutally, the F22 is just now implementing AIM-9X and the AIM-120D and has yet to gain IRST and HMCS. As it stands right now, the F35 had a better weapons and electronics suite being a newer plane and the F22 has been scuttled since 2011.
