On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

    @weazel235 that's a little different though. That person was trained in combat camera and can still be effective at that job. The pilot on the other hand was extensively trained to be a pilot. @@weazel235 This. The pilot has final authority over the aircraft - this happened before on 2 February 1970; 1LT Gary Faust ejected from an F-106 that was in a flat spin, and the change in flight attitude and weight kicked the plane out of its flat spin. Faust was never reprimanded for ejecting (other than some ribbing by his fellow pilots).

    Unfortunately neither are accurately simulated. They're still very classified. I've seen quotes from generals saying the f35 is stealthier than the f22. In 2005 one said the f22 AND f35 are stealthier than the b2. And recently a few more have said the f35 is stealthier than f22. Nobody outside of the field knows the true RCS or what any of its on board systems are capable of. Just going by specs the f35 should be better than the f22 in every single way besides guns only BFM.

    Would not be surprised if the ejection of the F-35 pilot was accidental. I remember this happened to an F-15 near Tyndall AFB. A hose in the cockpit became undone and snagged on the ejection handle. The pilot did not know this and pulled the hose up to reattach it. BOOM out you go. • @jonathanpfeffer3716

    @jonathanpfeffer3716

    Estimating costs gets weird. It’s realistically more practical to have a range, just because depending on the accounting conventions you want to use any specific figure is going to vary a lot. Especially when it comes to big ticket programs with tons of associated costs/sub programs it’s just better to look at overall program costs to get a picture of expenses rather than jump through hoops trying to get unit costs.
