Not really since the sight is only as good as the missile. The r73’s pull extremely hard thus creating the ability to shoot high off bore sight. But the r60 can’t really do that aswell

@@TheRealHIPER R-27T with 8km rear range, or 6km all aspect range, no warning, no visual if they are smart and turn their radar off, and they don't even need to go towards, all they need to do is look at you and if your in range, GG's.

@@WOLFER. the theory sounds cool But there are so many issues that you dont cover because you never played it. Actually all aspect range is 4km which is same to 9L for hot targets. But 9L has a bit of flare resistance while soviet rockets are addicted to flares. Oh, your 27T can simp for the missile that your locked target launches which makes 27T useless. And oh biy you have to find the target first and come very close to actually hit. And they buffed US radars so that you simply cant dodge them with notching and thats so much toxic because you have only 10 seconds to do something to dodge a penix but you actually cant if you are a bit high above the ground. Aim 7 are more broken than 73 on the dev but you, nato simps, really love that so everything is ok.

The 2nd round for the F-16 was actually insanely intense.

Flying through f16 and dogfighting in it 300-330 knots is the perfect rate for the f16 it turns faster than a spitfire

I miss the old Mig29 flight model😢 these days the only thing the Mig29 has over the F16 is the R73. Once those are gone, it’s basically dead.

Don’t drop below 350 knots, your were doing well above 340 but kept dropping to 274knots idk how it’s modeled but at least in DCS 350 knots is the min speed for rate fights.

Gotta remember this is an F-16A. 5e engine only outputs just over 23,000 pounds of thrust. I still agree that it needs a rate speed above 350, but the ideal rate will be lower. I’ve noticed about 375 to 400 seems to be ideal, above that and the F-16A tends to compress.

This F-16 has a hard time staying above 350kts, without having the MiG-29 pull onto my 6. I have an easier time doing it in the F-5E. I'll need to train more with the bird.

I wish every plane had a G limit. Really makes you think about your next move. But just having these 2 have a G limit mixed with planes can pull 10-14 Gs is just bad design.

try to stay in one plane when you're in the rate fight, using the vertical destroys your degrees per second, and always keep the viper fast. speed is life in that thing

Speed is life in that thing, but for some reason gaijin ruined the energy retention in it. Could be because it's the A model, but the C in DCS has no problem staying above 500kts. For some reason it was hard to manage 350kts. Hell even the F-5 could do 400kts. Perhaps I need to train in it more.

Ngl the f16 shouldn't be losing energy that quickly however it is the A model and it has a much weaker engine than the Late A models and C models.

@@K_GHOST225 the mig 29 is under preforming in the 1 circle in air RB.

The thing i noticed about the mig is i guess it compresses in a turn with the after burners on. Youll turn good for a second and then you just cant get the nose around unless you cut back throttle. .. the f16 doesnt really do that it seems.. or maybe my sensitivity needs adjusting or fuel idk

Bro are you kidding? The f16 turns into a brick if it goes over 700 Km/h. You literally have to hit the air breaks to get below 700 for it to start turning well and once you do it does turn extremely well. Both the f16 and mig29 flight models are wrong. They should both be performing better. That or they need to limit other aircraft to historical g-limitations.

@@Takemura76 Nope, the F-16A flight model is absolutely right. Look at its flight envelope charts, it turns into a brick going near and above mach 1. This isn't the F-16C.

All planes in war thunder have a maximum g load in real life. This max is multiplied by 1.5 and becomes the war thunder adjusted max g load. That way dogfights are more fun. For some reason, the f16 and mig29 are stuck with their real life max g loads. This makes them feel seriously sluggish.

@@TheDAWinz The F-16 isn't completely correct in War Thunder. It's flight model is pretty accurate in low speeds when it enters its raid speed though said sweet spot should be about 50 mph higher, however it should _absolutely not_ be compressing into a F-104 at higher speeds - that is _blatantly_ wrong. Also, you don't base an F-16's capabilities solely on whether it's a A/B/C/D, but rather it on what Block it is. For example, the standard A/B Block 15 and onward had the engine we see in-game - the F100-PW-220 - but the A/B Block 10 had the F100-PW-200 and also wasn't able to carry AIM-7 Sparrows like the Block 15. That said, Gaijin got the models all messed up. The ADF in-game is supposed to be a Block 15 but it's missing the extra pylons on its wings, while the F-16A as labeled in-game is apparently supposed to be a Block 10 according to its model yet has the extra pylons the Block 15 is supposed to have, has the Block 15's 220 engine, and can carry Mavericks it wasn't able to IRL. In fact, the only F-16 in-game that should be able to carry Mavericks is the Taiwanese Block 20 (labeled F-16 MLU in-game) because the Block 20 is a Block 15OCU built to MLU standards. The F-16A/B didn't see the ability to carry Mavericks until the Block 15OCU package, which was the same upgrade package that also allowed it to carry AIM-120 AMRAAMs and Norwegian Penguin Mk3 (AGM-119) Anti-Ship missiles. (This also means that the Taiwanese Block 20 in-game should be able to carry AMRAAMs, but obviously that missile would be too imbalanced right now for the same reason the R-73 didn't come to the live server.) As for the MiG-29 9-13, all the sources I can find conclude it's fairly accurate, and all the DCS players I've been talking to say it performs almost identically. That said, I'm not nearly as knowledgable on the MiG-29 and its variants as I am on the F-16 so take that with a grain of salt.

Alot of people shouldn't forget that the mig 29 has been modeled in war thunder very badly still and has not been implemented correctly
