The MiG-29 and the Su-27 have the exact same radar and has the symbol ”29” on us rwr. It’s not a shortfall or a limitation. ”29” is simply the symbol for MiG-29’s, Su-27’s and Su-33’s.

@@appa609 The signal processor is the same ..but not the power or the antenna.. the 27 has a more bigger antenna and power output.. but the core and signal processor is the same as the MIG and thats why it seems identical to the RWR .. the RWR reads the same radar .. tought the flanker will put more output and have better range

Omg 😂 I thought that was the altitude that the enemy plane was locking you at. I was always like, “how the hell is this guy always locking on me at 29,000 feet” except it was just a mig29. 😂 I never claimed to be a smart person.

In reality the F-15 RWR system does have the ability to detect targets in the vertical axis

Doesn't work below or above the F-15?But if the aircraft is in a 90degree bank the wing tip sensors should register above/below threats,right?

what does the RWR/SPO do, I saw it in the controls but didn't know what it did

Then you have the F-16 that has a different sound for each radar in Falcon.

The A-10C also has different sounds for most radars by default: you can expand upon the sound library (sounds) by using RAE, RWR Audio Expansion to get additional sounds (of higher quality). It also adds some new sounds for the F-15C, but it is rather limited

@@terryboyer1342 I would assume so since the Falcon team had an Air Force General and F-16 instructor pilot as an advisor. He even wrote up the training/tutorial missions for Falcon 4.0 based on his IP syllabus.

I have noticed that the center cross-hair thing sometimes turns into a star looking icon, similar to an asterisk. Any idea what that is? Thanks for the awesome tutorials.

@Albert That means you have activated your ECM (jammer); if the diagonal ticks are flashing it means the system is warming up, when it is solid your jammer is active.

That means you have turned on your ECM (electronic counter measures). It will flash and then be a solid symbol after so many minutes.

How does RWR identify aircraft models?

so is the RWR always on? there's no on/off switch for it? just the mode selector?

Is it possible that the A-10A from Flaming Cliffs 3 did not get this RWR radar?I looked at it today and there is still only the old TV screen. Do I need to change any settings or install anything? Thanks for any tips.

The RWR on the A-10A is below the "FIRE L ENG PULL" thing, to the left of the artificial horizon. The old TV screen on the right is for the Maverick missiles.

F-15 internal jammer (ECM) has been activated

I cant get the RWR to work at all. No matter what planes I put in the sky in the Editor my F15 RWR never picks up any planes

@@grimreapers after more fiddling and time in game I'm thinking its simply because the aircraft arent using their radar ergo I'm not being painted or spiked. I'm still pretty new and learning so I'm chalking it up to that haha
