Also got to love the story of I believe it was an Israeli F15 that flew back and landed with 1 wing after being hit. Pilot didn’t even know he was flying with just 1 wing h til he landed! Just knew the plane was flying poorly after it got hit. 😂

I've noticed that its almost impossible to blow off your flaps, they dont deploy above certain speeds and will automatically deploy once you get below those speeds. Kind of a neat feature

@@sooryan_1018 R60MKs are a SUBSTANTIALY more reasonable missile than R73s and are better in the maneuverability aspect. Even then I was more saying how the f15 should have aim9Ms stock so that it could adequately compete. Realistic or not, that’s just game balance.

@@topaz2821 R60Ms have piss poor range and instant flarable. Literally a slightly longer range ASRAAM. AIM-9Ls are miles better for your BR, especially on facing MiG-29s with R60Ms

@@sooryan_1018 sorry but when maneuverability is taken into account with aim9Ls also being a 1 flair it evens out. You get less range but more maneuverability, that’s the trade off. Comparing the R73 to the aim9L is just not realistic. Either they both should get the non-IRCCM missiles stock or neither should. All this considering that the SU27 also gets 10 of the best missiles in the game (both IR and radar) it is not balanced for it to also have IRCCM stock.

I found a strategy that works for this thing. Fly off to the side low. Like really low. Get behind the enemy. Aim for their high guys first with the aim 7s. And then fall down onto their team with the 9m. Usually get like 3 -4 kills a game doing this

The SU27 never carried anything but the R73 as a short range Fox 2. There is no other option for a stock missile.

Being totally fair, the F-15A only had AIM-9J/Ps available when it entered service in the mid 70s. The Su-27 only carried R-60s for a very short time during its prototype phase, the Sukhoi T-10 series.

@@cagingskies9584 but why not also give the flare resistant missile to the Eagle to make the grind a bit more comparable? And they're not "Fox-2s". The fox brevity codes are brevity codes to warn the LAUNCH of a missile, like calling "Fore!" in golf.

I’m kinda curious as to how you connect your Aim-9Ls. Because mine constantly gets one flared and slaving doesn’t seem to work at all

Ehhh One thing I don’t agree with is if I’m going 800-900mph and do a high G turn my wings will NOT snap. But if I’m going 500-600 mph my wings are going to snap. BUT I haven’t snapped my wings for a while now, because I distribute my fuel (1 Drop tank to get to the battlefield, 20 minutes of fuel for the rest) and so far my wings will rarely snap.

I've never really found it to be helpful on most planes with the exception of a few. The f16 one is almost impossible to use in cockpit view but works well in 3rd person view. A little secret that most people don't use or know is both the F14B and F-16c can use their targeting pod (just the stock regular one for F14B works as well) to lock the target. When you this you get a separate EEGS that works very well in 3rd person view on both jets. And this way you don't need to have a radar lock to pull up the other system that's used. (The one that likes to jump around all over the place rendering them useless.

I'm very interested in how your radar controls work, I want to be able to lock targets at any moment and I can't figure that out still with the f-15

I have a tutorial guide going over how to operate radar, check the playlists on my channel page. As for the control layout I use personally, it wouldn't do much good to share it, I use a combination of overlapping keybinds, a 6 button mouse, and an elgato streamdeck as a makeshift MFD.

I mention it in my radar tutorial, when youre in ACM hit your keybind to change your sweep angle.

im having legitimately the worst time I've ever had with any plane in the f15, every missile misses, even the easiest kills a missile will just go the complete opposite direction, I've never gotten burn out in my relatively balanced 4000 hours in the game through the years, but the f15 has actually made me hate playing the game and just sink into despair after every game goes completely being a waste of time. I don't think I've gotten a single kill that waste a friendly with missiles, maybe 2 gun kills, it just hurts, I don't know what im doing wrong and it just sucks man.

The new planes sure do look cool and are a blast to fly but they've turned Air RB into a bigger and badder cluster fuck

Wing rips are a real problem, i’ve had plenty of them subsonic. They have all been irrecoverable. Whereas i’ve seen a Mig29 return and land having lost both wings. I think Gaijin just likes giving a subtle middle finger to US players.

I am fully convinced that soviet union existed so US aerospace could justify manufacturing this type of stuff

Listen the Soviet designs will always be my favorite, but it’s impossible to argue against the F-15 being probably the most successful jet fighter of all time.

Sim is really rough, the radar is the issue I'm having

Min fuel/ clean F15A can climb at 90° up to about 6km altitude holding about 300kph. Kinda funny.

i have started to roll and both my wings snapped with no drop tanks

for me the F15 feels like deltawing without being deltawing

If you mean to change the MFD, there are keybinds you can set for that - go into your controls and search for "set mfd mode"

The real tragedy is that the Japanese F-15 doesn’t get as effective ground attack options as the American or Israeli F-15s. I get why that is bc of what japans priorities are but it still bugs me

I genuinely expected them to be at least 12.7 on live server because you don't really need any statistics to realize that most of the 11.3 planes have nothing to give them a fair chance against 27's and 15's. They really should've waited with that release until they rework ARB, get more possible planes to introduce, and expand the BRs.

No amount of new jets or maps is going to fix the clusterfuck that is top tier. It's a total mess.

I don't hate the F-15 but I always hate this idea that its 104-0 kill ratio is promoted like it soothes ones ego. Don't get me wrong it is a great feat! but the context was this was all done with already piss-poor nations with gimmped export vers of the MiG-29s, 23s, 21s, and some pilots in 25 Foxhounds I read tried to dogfight with Eagles rather then play to their strengths. Its a very good jet but the enemy it faced irl didn't put up much a of fight.

To be fair to the Eagle It's not like Soviet pilots were always the best, flying their best. The IAF sent that message during the war of attrition when they shot down MIG21s flown by Soviet pilots in Egypt with their F-4s and Mirages And at the same time, the F-15 operationally predates both the SU-27 and MIG-29, by the time either entered mainline service, the USAF had been introducing F-15C

Maybe I'm getting spoiled from having a premium...but wtf is this shit. I start off and can't use chaff and only get 2 AIM 9L?

In real life the f-15 IS capable of accelerating while going straight up.

The dev server version (first version) had a horrible problem with wing rip. It was then that I swore if they ruined this plane before it hit the game I would never play this game again and they would never ever get another penny out of me. Someone important mustve read my comment because they fixed the wing rip (which in real life the F15 does not suffer from) because I mean what I say. In 1995 I swore off baseball and football, and havent watched a game since - I mean what I say. Gladly, They didnt ruin the F15 and I dont feel a need to punish Gaijin for ruining the one plane I've wanted since the day I made my account. I almost spent a few hundred bucks on DCS simply because they had an F15 and WT didn't.

Dog fighting in the F-15A is garbage....even with a fully upgraded plane and crew, the pilot blacks out on every turn around....every single one....then you "lose control" and typically get shot down before you can fully recover and re-aquire a target.

This review is severly outdated, as the plane underperformed heavily even after the br changes in february, plus it easily wingrips while turning at 700ish-900ish IAS speeds. Also, a word on how the plane is just a mediocre placeholder with a great name and airframe model on its shoulders.

@@atvkid0805 The F-15 has the biggest wing area of all top tier jets, it shouldn't wingrip while doing sharp maneuvers even with +70% of fuel capacity, though it does at 45% onwards. I may let you pass that mistake with a heavier F-15C, but not with the A. The F-15A underperforms given historical documents and ingame statistics.

​@@atvkid0805 LOL you won't teach me how to play the F-15 as i have both the US and the japanese, played them +320 games combined with over 1.8KDR , i know them pretty damn well and despite its maneuverability, it sucks heavily for the current meta at top tiers. You get only 4 competitive IR missiles without HMD, 4 unreliable SARH missiles + you have to freaking guess how many fuel you may need to not just run out of gas for the endgame while thinking about being maneuverable through the entire game, however literally NO OTHER PLANE has to do that to be reasonably maneuverable and to not rip, not even the Gripen. Doesn't that clicks in your head? at full downtiers though, the F-15 is quite enjoyable as you have favorable chances against multiple PDV radars that doesnt like slight cranks. So yes it is a mediocre plane which wingrips at transonic speeds and at best is worth grinding after you got both F-14s/F-16s, though in Japan is superior to the F-16AJ and way better than the F-4EJ Kai.

Its a tad bit disappointing in my opinion
