My Auntie Ivy was a big Lennon fan. She died of a stroke,late morning...on December 8th 1980,12 hours before John!! Double sad day for us.

What an awful day
this was done so well
I remember this so well I was 15 at the time watching monday night football when I heard the news- I was still mourning with my mom the loss of her mom- my grandma and then we heard about john. my mom and I loved him and the beatles she was pregnant with me when they were on ed sulivan show. so this was our connection to john and the beatles.

At the Dakota, it would be more unusual if a photographer or two *weren't* around.

five years later morning him and my grandma- I lost my young mom. not a great decade the 80s for me.
