Who knows it might. Eye Shield shares the same writer as Doctor Stone so he has gained a lot of popularity recently. There also hasn't been any notable sports anime since Haikyuu. Blue Lock is looking good so I'm hoping that would be spark for sports anime

It’s a shame the anime and manga doesn’t get the recognition it deserves, the manga is my 2nd favorite sports manga right behind Slam Dunk. And also I don’t think people realize that Murata the artist for One Punch Man is the creator for Eyeshield 21

Murata did not create Eyeshield 21, he only draws. Story is done by Inagaki

he is the artist that draws eyeshield 21 The creator and writer of eyeshield 21 is Inagaki, the guy who recently wrote Doctor Stone

Glad to know I wasn't the only one who wants more of eyeshield

i feel like crying now this so nostalgic i remember watching this masterpiece when i was in high school and because of this anime i got into sports

@@Blballerboy yeah they cutted it, there should be last 3 match, devil bats vs dinasour gao rikya, the christmas bowl match sena vs es21 and after that as i remember it was all star japan vs USA that was the ending of the manga

the dynamic between the original 3 devil bats 🤣Hiruma is the nutcase, musashi chilled and kurita is the peacemaker

As an eyeshield21 manga reader, I can notice first day Murata's artwork on OPM. Similar but much improved.

Sena turns the lie of "Eyeshield 21 from Notre Dame" to reality by beating the 2 All-star players claiming to be Eyeshield 21s. And Musashi turn the lie of "60-yard magnum" by kicking their winning points at Christmas Bowl. All thanks to Hiruma.

Hiruma counting the minutes Musashi's late always has me bawling 😢

so nostalgic i was watching this when i was in elementary and i would ran from school to home nonstop after thinking im eyeshield

I love Eyeshield 21 I watched it when I was in Middle School and is my fave sports anime. I was saddened that it never went to finish the manga and 15 years later I have now all the volume of it. I wish they would either continue where the anime left off (a la Bleach style) or a complete redo (a la FMA Brotherhood). The latter would be nice since it didn't have an english dub.

@@bjmichaelmoria9322 Yup. The anime ends after Deimon Devil Bats defeated Ojo White Knights (Shin's team) in the semi-final of Kanto Tournament (or specifically more like conference semi-final). This is the 2nd match of Sena vs Shin on the field.

That last kick was epic! The rest of the team blocked the unstoppable Yamato, aka the real Eyeshield 21. It's portrayed in large panels without dialogue

Reboot this please, I read the manga and it was probably the coolest sports anime ever, and watching this quality of anime without any nostalgia goggles is very hard

What I like from anime adaption is the music, it realy suits the anime

I will have to mention a change they made in the anime that I think impacted how the scene with Musashi and his dad went. In the anime as we saw in this clip, Musashi's dad just weakly punched him in the stomach, but in the manga? He grabbed a piece of rock to increase his fist's density and socked Musashi in his face so hard that he fell to the floor. Musashi despite having a mature appearance ironically is pretty childish in this situation, he was so fixated in helping out his dad and the workers in Takekura constructions that he didn't notice that his father, while still sick, is nowhere near as weak as he thought he was, the same is true for his workmates. His father's fist reminded him that it is okay to be a bit selfish and leave him in the dust, because they're no people who's so weak that they can't go on without a 17-year-old kid helping out. BTW in the manga, Musashi actually returned in the Seibu Gunmans match and not the Bando Spiders match.

Did i mistake? I read manga long time ago where musashi return in seibus match. That scene what i more hyped is when kid says it first time he feel scared (because now deimon can do any strategies).. Or did i mistake?

Yeah, you're right. In the manga, Musashi returned to the field during the Deimon - Seibu match. Kid then realized that Deimon no longer has any weak points and can now employ any strategy they can come up with, using the 'rock paper scissors' analogy.

Musashi return during Bando Spider match (as shown in this video). Not during Seibu's match. This is the match that decides which team go to Kanto tournament as the 3rd place in Tokyo region.

Komusubi didn't get a single line of dialogue or even a bit of camera focus outside of group shots. Sad. It's also sad that the anime ends before he and Kurita get one of their greatest moments vs Gao and the Hyakshu Dinosaurs.

Why’d they have Musashi’s return be in Bando Spider’s match and not on the Gunmen’s? Felt weird reading the manga and seeing his return come earlier than expected.

But it felt reasonable because Bando Spider had Koutarou and the highlight of the match is "kicking". It's the best time for Mushashi to return since Deimon didn't have a kicker at all.
