So I took in this kitten during our first winter storm and he was in horrible condition. His eye was closed shut with an abscess inside the eye. I have no money and nobody wanted him and none of the society’s will take him. I decided to use this treatment and his eye is back to normal and the upper respiratory infection all gone. Now he’s ready to get fixed and vaccinated and getting adopted. Thanks so much for your advice. ❤

What did you do to help the upper respiratory infection? I found a stray last night with an eye infection one eye face all scratch up and it sounds like he has a upper respiratory infection too. I’m wondering what I could do to help that without having to go to the vet I did already call my vet and everything but I just want to treat at home before I bring the cat to the vet at the beginning of the week

I couldn't afford to bring all 4 of my cats to the vet for eye infection so I tried the honey. It was completely cleared up in 5 days. Putting drops in was too difficult for me because I have arthritis in my hands so I soaked gauze pads with the honey mixture and saturated the eyes that way ( after I cleaned the gunk off of course). I expected there to be a sticky mess and was pleasantly surprised that there was no sticky residue. Thank you so much for saving me a very expensive trip to the vet.

We used the black tea, but just dunked a cotton round in the cooled tea and then lightly patted and pressed over his eye (excess tea would spill off). It worked! His eye was swollen and the pink layer was red and he looked miserable. Vet appnts were 2 weeks out and warm compresses only helped slightly. In a day and a half he was greatly improved. Three days in and he is back to normal. Thank you.

I have a cat that visits every day; don't know where she comes from. She wreaks of Febreze every day! Her owner either sprays her with it or her bedding is doused in it. As a result, the cat's eye is oozing brown stuff. My cat died of lung cancer and had this very same symptom. (Vet kept saying it was season allergies!!!) Most here already know this, but for others, please people, don't put perfume, air fresheners, essential oils etc. or Lysol!!!!! on your cats or their bedding or your house.

You could track down her owner, or put a little loose collar on her with a note to the owner. Or you could just keep her indoors and try to treat her eye. My cat gets brown gunk too, but it's not from anything other than the food she eats sometimes that causes it. Serious sinus infections have compromised the sinus cavity of my cat to where dark brown foods will cause brown eye leaks. It's not infection, but it looks bad.

Thank You so Much Doctor ☺️ there is a stray cat that has taken to us. Stays on our front porch. When it gets too cold,we let her in. I noticed yesterday something has happened to her left eye, she can barely open it. I'm really saddened and concerned as I don't have the $ to take her to the vet. I will try (if she lets me) to clean her eye with the sterilized pads with lukewarm water and get a dropper and try the green tea drops after the tea has cooled. Trusting these homemade remedies will help. I am really worried about My Lila Girl. Thank You Again, Ever so Much for These home remedies. You will be Blessed 🙏☺️👍💖

I used to have a cat that constantly got "pink eye." I don't know if I was supposed to, but I took hydrogen peroxide and diluted it quite a bit. I swabbed her eye with it a couple of times a day for about a week. It always took it away. I didn't drop it in her eye, but the cotton ball was really wet to allow for a little to get inside. I imagine that rather than dropping into a squirmy cat's eye, this "really wet cotton ball" method might work just as well. It did for me.

The black tea is magic! I noticed my cat's left eye was red and kinda gunky, and she wasn't opening it as far as the other one. I used concentrated PG Tips in distilled water just two times, last night and this morning, tonight she's totally fine! She has had multi-week conjunctivitis eposides in the past, it never cleared up like this before. I'm still doing a few more drops today to make sure it doesn't come back. Thank you so much for getting the truth out there! ❤🐱

I used the honey/water drop method on my old Labrador years ago (after watching one of your videos). I tested it on myself first and it briefly stung and then I gave it to her. My dog's eye infection was gone in a day. As far as castor oil goes, I put a drop in my own dry eyes every night before I go to sleep. It is marvelous stuff and very cheap to buy.

Hi Dr. Jones. Is chaga ok for dogs? My chihuahua mix has a heart problem she was born with and sildenafil (can’t spell it but it’s generic viagra) which has really helped. But she has a lump on her chest (she’s only 8!). So I’m wondering if the ground chaga I use would be ok for her? Thank you, you’re the best vet 💗

I asked a question on the flea spray video, and I hoped for an answer. If the alone Vera juice is old ,but was kept refrigerated, is it ok to use it in the spray?

You are TRULY AMAZING and I am so happy I found you. Animals have always meant more to me than anything. I have adopted (she more adopted me) a feral cat that is fixed and had been to the vet before as she has her ear clipped. Long story short I want to bring her to the vet as she has a few items going in I want to stop before she gets older. I’m deathly afraid she is going to have a heart attack from the stress of getting her TO the vet. Any recommendations??? Thank you fir everything you helped get rid of her ear mites.

I had the same fear with my feral cat, to my surprise she did outstanding . I talk to my kitty of what was going to happen , like " I am going to take you to the Dr. you will be riding in a carry case , I will be with you the whole time ,the Dr. will look at you , and when he is done you will come home with me ." She only cried when her carrier was moving about , I told the vet ahead of time that she is faral and afraid of people, they took the time to let her decompress before moving in and touching her. Good luck.

Dr Jones, I acquired a stray baby kitten to which she had the cat virus. She was hard to catch, but when I did I treated her but she lost her eye do to the infection. She leeks from that eye daily, I wipe it with warm cloth. Should I have the eye removed or just leave it? I put in neomycin and polymyxin B sulfate and dexamethasone ointment.

Hi doc! My cat has a swallow upper eyelid with green boogers. So he’s being winking a lot. Will food allergy cause this? Because I gave him some freeze dry food last night for dinner. Can I use these remedies to treat him? Thank you in advance!!

Hello. I just want to ask about panacur. How much are you suppose to give your dog for cancer treatment? I was only giving my dog 1 gram of safeguard. I wasn't able to get my hands on panacure. The company took 2 weeks to get it to me. My poor dog passed away of lung cancer. The vet said he dad a low chance of survival the cancer was spread all over his lungs. Did i take care of my dog wrong or was it too late? Id like to know please. Thank you

I have a 11 month old foster cat that's been having a persisting teary eye, squinting for months. I asked our rescue group (also foster's vet clinic) that I'm fostering for what to do and they said it's probably herpes and gave me an eye drop which didn't clear the symptoms, also had us try lysine, nothing working. Do you recommend different remedies for herpes eye symptoms?? Hope you'll also cover this subject. Thank you so much!

Thanks for this! My cat Moo has had this for the past nearly 2 weeks. Formerly, tobramycin drops worked but they didn’t at all this time. Took him back to the vet & spent $200 for whole new drops. Eyes finally seem to be slowly clearing up. But if it occurs again I’ll try these first!!!

Turns out the eye drops again are not resolving the issue. I’m going to try your recommendations. My kitten who ate part of her toy was having vomiting for a few days to no remedy after spending nearly $1k at the vet. Applied your recommendations & she is all better. Thank you so much, they were on the verge of recommending surgery even tho I insisted it was gastritis & all X-rays were clear. You’re a life saver, a true doctor in a world where so many claim to be, but aren’t. 🙏💕

@VeterinarySecrets how long would conjunctivitis last for kittens. I tried to apply drops prescribed by vets but it doesn't make him well. Now I just use honey but they scratch their eyes when I apply it.
