Eye Contact With Strangers Experiment
Where has the human connection gone in our big cities? In this public experiment we discover what happens when we intentionally share eye contact with strangers...We had no idea how quickly things would escalate!
Enjoy and share to inspire more experiences of connection in public.

I remember that one eyecontact i made with a stranger on the train, he was sitting infront of me , at first we were avoiding to look at each other cuz it was awkward then kinda both started gazing at each other's eyes for quite a long time and we ended up smiling, his eyes were so beautiful i felt like he was looking into my soul, when he reached his station he told me to take care even tho we didn't share any conversation. Everytime i remember that moment i start smiling its been more than a year since it happened and each time i wish i can meet him again

Prolonged eye contact is very personal that's why people either feel closer to someone or like their personal space is invaded

Right! It is personal and i don't think it is an obligation.I think that it can make some people very ill at ease to have a prolonged eye contact ..it depends on the people.

Frenchie séverine Yeah it's not an obligation to keep eye contact with anybody but it definitely is relevant to how you are perceived. Prolonged eye contact makes you appear more confident and open, avoiding eye contact seems either offish or insecure. It's hard to establish a connection with someone without locking eyes. I noticed if I meet someone and the person is friendly, smiles and keeps eye contact it makes me feel more at ease with them but when someone is just staring with a neutral expression it makes me uncomfortable. The context is important.

This video and one another gave me almost conjunctivitis.Sorry but i don't see myself looking straight into the eyes of a stranger for a minute or more .It is a personal feeling too.I like to look at the people i love or appreciate but i don't stare at them more than 20 seconds..

+Frenchie séverine I get what you're saying. It's about reversing the process you're talking about though. Building and realising a connection by making eye contact rather than making eye contact with someone you already have a connection with.

Chrissi I think your missing the point... it’s about not having barriers to even invade. It’s about being Human and accepting yourself as you are :)
No words have been said but wow this has me in tears.
Sitting here like a big baby crying. This is beautiful, meaningful and powerful.
This video and other Liberators International videos have helped to change my life as I heal from a Traumatic brain injury. As a former US Marine I was taught to be rigid and strong. But this reminds me that Strength is from within and should be shared. Spreading humanity through love and smiles. It doesn't get more simple or beautiful. Thank you.

I always make my way back to this gem. Something about this is so moving🖤
Why do I burst in tears when I watch this video ? I'm not sad ... I'm only human :)
Loving well intended eye contact with no judgement is true beauty
Beautiful . Eyes are the gateway to one's soul .
The power of eye contact! I was in tears watching this video
Where have we gone? When even eye contact with another person excites us, we get more distracted every day and forget the beauty of life.
i have anxiety and i did this aswell in my city. tears came down my eyes when the 5ith person came. it was my mother😢😢

I couldn’t watch the whole thing without skipping as if they are looking in to my eyes...god this is so powerful. We don’t need words or actions all the time, just an eye contact is enough to feel serene,
This is truly an insightful experience. Go on give it a go today. See what happens.
I was touched just watching
Absolutely beautiful .....without a doubt!!.......
Beautifully moving, powerful stuff.... ! thank you x
Tolles Video. Das zeigt wie wichtig zwischen-menschliche Begegnungen sind. Sehr berührend.
This should not be an experiment but a daily part of life! If I stare into your eyes, trust that I want to know you afterwards
This was interesting to see. For me it was making a point about people seldom never, well hardly ever looking at strangers in town and city centres. People are indeed way too caught up with their own egos and preoccupied with looking 'cool' by creating a vision of themselves having plenty else going on. It's sad that population centres come across as so unfriendly.

I can't agree more about what you wrote and realised I was like this as well. Damn, seems we've all forget about our relatives, yet we need each other so much..
This was just so beautiful and moving. I loved it.❤
Why is this hitting me emotionally? It's just eye contact for crying out loud. I guess it's much more than that. I once fell in love with a girl who only just looked at me without saying a word. That's how powerful eye contact is.
I did this in Copenhagen in 2015, and I have never forgotten
What a simple yet powerful act
Beautiful... no words needed.
Deeply moving. Well done.

…gOLd… & essential in these challenging, socially distanced times… Although we may not -currently-be able to share hugs, we can still share the L❤️VE ❤️🙏🏼❤️💞❤️🙏🏼❤️
In the future eye contact is how we communicate mostly. Vocal sounds are only used for extremes of pleasure or displeasure and for entertainment. You can say a lot more without words.

Damn. That made me emotional.
People are beautiful!
Amazing concept
Amazingly simple
This made me cry 😭
Essentially they are just looking at eyeballs but if you look at eyeballs that are out of their sockets the reaction is different so it has nothing to do with staring into someone's eyes but more of a social stigma as to what that certain action means to specific people. It's equally as awkward as holding a strangers hand.

Hello my name is Melvin and there are a lot of people that I have to come friends with in other words confidence s for one reason we took one second to look in each other's eyes without saying a word I can't explain it I guess we are peculiar people
This is nice, but my college professor did something similar and the girl I was put with was not wanting any of it. Kind of embarrassing.

Meeting the souls. Probably the same ppl we were in heaven together along ago, or we may meet again there
We do this regularly in a holistic transformative system called Biodanza, accompanied with music and movement, in a more gentle and very progressive way, allowing both partners to be in feedback with each other. That way we learn to build self-confidence, joy, deepen love of ourselves and of others. May All Beings Be Peaceful.
