Exynos vs Snapdragon in S24 After Updates | Which is Better?
Ғылым және технология
Let's test the battery life, performance, and power efficiency of Exynos 2400 vs Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. I used two Samsung Galaxy S24 phones, one from Canada (Snapdragon), and another from Austria (Exynos). The test is conducted AFTER the February updates for Galaxy phones.
The test includes Light performance mode, standard mode, power saving mode, and 5G. I also tested CPU throttling.

Samsung in general isn't good at manufacturing chipsets when qualqum depended on them to make their "888" and "8 Gen 1", they both were less efficient that the 865 and to conform that the "8 Gen 1+" manufactured by TSMC was much more efficient that the 8 Gen 1

Also since most haven't used snapdragon side by side, they will have no comparison to make so don't know how worse it is. And it was pretty much known that samsung exynos won't be as efficient since tsmc has been gold standard now. You can't catch up so easily. And exynos problem was never lag. It's battery life.

Because the vast majority of people buying smartphones don't check performance tests, mosts don't even know (or care) what kind of processor their device uses. Approach ten random Samsung phone users in the street and ask them what a Snapdragon is, I bet eight will think it's some kind of small aggressive dog breed. Samsung sells worse phones at higher prices in the rest of the world compared to the US because *it can*. People still buy it. Companies really only change their behaviour if punished by customers with lower sales, leading to losses in profit. As long as they can slap their cheap in-house processor in a phone and it still sells like hot cakes, there is zero incentive for them to change.

Again, it was a great and well-prepared test, it is truly admirable that you are doing so much work to help people make decisions at a time when Exynos has question marks... If Samsung wants to prove that Exynos is good, it can prove it with the S24 FE, not with very expensive flagship phones! Battery consumption is still problematic and even though it's winter, it's hot, I don't even want to think about what could happen in the summer! Thank you again for helping people make decisions for these tests. Best regards

i always refer your videos to people arguing with me about exynos lol youre the best
For the S24+ Exynos, I did a few tests to determine battery drain depending on the type of mobile network. Also checked the use of 1 or 2 sim. In all cases, the phone is connected to wifi and not in use. Got the following battery usage results: 1) 2 sim, network type one 3g, the other 4g - consumption 2.0% per hour 2) 2 sim, network type of both 4g - consumption 0.8% per hour 3) 2 sim, network type of both 3g - consumption 1.8% per hour 4) 1 sim, 3g network type - consumption 0.5% per hour As a result, we have obscenely high battery consumption with 3g network type when 2 sims are used.

Well, on the S24 and also on other Samsung phones, the last 10% (10 to 0) is usually equal to maybe 3-4% when the battery level is higher (50 to 47, for example). The difference in daily life will be much less than what you claimed. And contrary to you Exynos 2400 does improve a lot since last year and is without a doubt one of the very best SoCs around. The only problem is, that Samsung is offering the same phone in 2 versions for the same price giving you no choice. If you dive this deep, then why not mentioning that core architecture of both is not the same this year. In theory Exynos 2400 should be ahead in low power tasks regarding battery. But competition is always good - imagine there would be only Qualcomm ...
I wonder, is the 4G connection more efficient if you do video calls? Looking at your data, the biggest issue of the Exynos version really seems to be the modem. As you said ... even Apple is buying Qualcomm modems ^^.
@Techmo, extremely well done comparison. But HOW do you verify that with "updates" etc. (after getting criticism) the Snapdragon variant wasn't just throttled performance wise to come closer to the exynos? In other words, you customized how the power saving mode works by toggling the apps and home screen limitation, but the power saving mode itself wasn't on for the tests in this video. Software can't update hardware... Samsung might maybe(*) be able to slightly narrow the power draw difference under load by compromising in performance by limiting peak performance/max clocks in Exynos. But standby/network connectivity power draw simply can't be lowered without affecting also connection quality and risking signal drops. * If lower peak states result in CPU staying significantly longer in higher power states and unable to idle as often that can negate power saving.

From a point of thermal throttling and weak performance, now exynos can atleast stand against snapdragon counterpart. For me ,i like competition among processors,so that for an end customer like me may have choices. I am also glad about mediatek, the same way i am happy for exynos too. Another reason is amd ,and their gpu capabilities. Samsung managed the thermal way better than previous gen exynos and i now have high expectations with the next exynos. I am also excited about snapdragon 's laptop cpu also 😅
I have the s24 exynos and these do not happen to me and Im getting around 8 hrs of screen on time..
Amazing video and work, showing how the rest of the world gets ripped off with the exynos no matter what they say. Normally don't comment but have my engagement mark here as well as a like and follow! Hope you get some slightly better payout from youtube because of it!
