Lived in Florida for 30 years. Watching this gives me a storm face. Focused eyes, serious gaze, what's next look. Been in hurricanes but these short burst Northern storms appear to be as terrible. The poor Northern Trees are not used to such force. Blesses to all involved, past, present, and future.

I feel for the people that lose their trees. I have a big locust that I planted well over twenty years ago and have cared for through bug infestations and droughts. I'd be heart broken to watch it torn from the ground.

There's nothing I love more in this world than Canadian home video commentary; thumbs up from me, dawg.
I have an unbelievable wind story that is 100% true... At my parents home, they had 2 trees that were in dire need of coming down, however my Dad's unexpected sickness & eventual death prohibited this from taking place, finances & time just didn't allow, then my mom became ill & passed in September (2021) A severe storm came through in January or February and I just knew those trees were coming down, my oldest son & I were there at the house and we witnessed EVERY tree around these 2 trees bending & blowing like crazy...yet the 2 dead trees weren't even moving!!! My mom had lived in fear of those trees coming down on the house, after she dies...they DIDN'T MOVE in a storm. Can't tell me my mom DIDN'T have something to do with it!!! Both of those trees have come "back to life", also, the dead branches sprouted leaves, and as of right now, we think they can be saved. Those trees stood practically dead for almost 2 yrs, needing to come down. We just couldn't afford it, now my mom's taken care of it, because we STILL can't afford it...lol. Prayers and those who go before us have the power to work miracles!!!

Joy, some trees have a long deep tap root and can withstand strong winds. Others are shallow rooted and can be lifted back into place and replanted. Your trees might have looked dead but there was a lot happening within them. Blessings.

This happened to me before when I was in bed. A very windy thunderstorm happened at 9:00 PM when I was in bed on a Monday. I nudged open the curtains to see what was happened and I was surprised that tree branches were swaying all over the place. Normally, I wouldn't be surprised cause thunderstorms are quite common from where I live. I tried to sleep but then I heard a loud BANG, then I got really scared. There was thunder every 1-2 seconds, there was LOTS of rain and lightning outside, then I heard a notification. I woke up to see what it was, it was a Severe thunderstorm warning. And then I was able to sleep. The thunderstorm lasted for 4-5 more hours, then it stopped. Believe it or not, I've been outside in thunderstorms MULTIPLE times.
I would be surprised of there weren’t any clips from Kansas

Absolutely not. Houses are nonliving constructs that can be fixed. Trees are beautiful, living and breathing beings, yet are vulnerable and many times cannot be fixed. You're claiming that a tree that has been growing and survived for 80 or 100+ years but is damaged beyond saving in seconds has less worth than a material object like a house? Talk about apathetic and backwards thinking.
@billrobbins5874
Жыл бұрын
@@emergencyfood3568 Actually thinking as a realist. If wind does damage to a 80 - 100 year old tree. It may have gotten to the end of it's life span. Not all trees like sequoia have an over 1,000 year life expectancy. As a realist would only hope the house my family lives in is structurally sound enough it will stand. Basically intact. Even if part of the roof is damaged. At least we're still given shelter. Wind storms often cause big trees weaker limbs to be snapped off. The grand firs in WA state given enough wind the roots can end up uplifting an entire tree over 100 years old because of their shallow root system. An opinion based on observation only. Yes, i agree with you. Trees are beautiful.
@Steveman27
Жыл бұрын
@@emergencyfood3568 So you're saying that if a wind storm destroys the home that you live in, you wouldn't mind if it doesn't affect your tree if you had a tree. I'm pretty damn sure you'd rather a tree get blown over than your house being destroyed.
THE CHANNEL IS WELL NAMED.

Wow! These are some very strong winds & storms.

If you have a snapped tree and you’re able..pick it up and put tape or support around it,I planted a tree then my kid stood on it(was knee high)and it broke in two,it’s now years later and the plumbing tape I used is still on and tree is doing great

The lost trees say a lot about leaving trees on property, as opposed to planting after construction. The house I grew up in was built between the 1920s & 1930s; & the youngest of our trees had grown from a but a squirrel forgot about, planted when I was a kid. The trees were decades established! When we had a darkroom dug under the breakfast room for my dad's hobby, a chunk had to be cut out of the root growing north from a tree on the southern property line. It crossed the side yard, then the width of the house! That tree wouldn't have gone anywhere in a windstorm!
