Never buy land from stranger who approach you on internet and WhatsApp. Land in rural areas in South Africa is acquired through village chiefs . You must visit the chief and village in person. I accidentally came across your blog.. And I love it. I relocated from Midrand and I fortunately managed to buy an incomplete house at Umgababa and completed it with my alterations indeed. Although it doesn't have a sea view but it's like living on holiday everyday.. I loved the area when I went on holiday hence it was my plan to end up in coastal.. Keep up the good work.

You should look in areas near port Edwards they are very cheap and beautiful seaview areas

South Africas rural areas are indeed beautiful, thanks for showing this to the world, hugely potential as you said good vlogging. 😅

I like your videos but please make sure to tell us the names of those villages and sometimes talk to the owners of those houses so we can hear from them about the experience of living there like the safety and how are they surving. We can't rely on the passers by information without hearing from the real residents of those areas.

It is constitutionally illegal for any authority in South Africa to refuse land ownership to a woman on the basis that she is a woman; all you need to do is approach the courts, and any such decision will be overturned. It is also immoral, even by traditional or customary standards. We live in a new country, where women are equal members of society in every sphere of social life. That said, thank you Sister Velile for this video and all others you have posted before, from which we have learnt a lot.

It is sad that this is still happening. I also think it depends on the Chief of the village because I have many women who have acquired land in villages I have showcased here. I think the chief of that village is prejudice and she needs to take this further and stand for her rights. 🙏🏾❤️

This is true, and it’s prejudice that requires one to be wise in dealing with it. Because just taking a certain chief to court and think you will live peacefully in that land is not realistic. That will just make me a target unfortunately, people get killed over such things.

but you also must remeber that the land is under the cheif,its his land so hes pluasable not to sell it to you if he feels like it despite the bias he might have,it is not entirely true that you cannot get land if your female,it depends on your family leineage to that particular community or village,or if your a widowed woman,this is done to protect the family leanage and legacy,becouse these lands are still under tribal land the practitice cultural and tribal practices,femalees in particular are mom as this is also practiced in the middle east,your dubais,your sarabia but vocal in our country becouse they can just pull out the constitution,the ways of these rural communitites have been thought out tried and tested for years and is within the interest of protectecting the family and the surname,children are being abused in all forms,and in the event of the mother being deacesed the newly wed step father will kick the children out of the house and overtake their entire estate..ifa lamndeni,

Hows the internet in these areas? Most of us work from home so internet must be great. Which areas are these?

Its very hard to acquire land in the rurals as preference is given to those with ancestral lineage. Tried emacambini and the ward councillor will tell you that all the land has been sold. Its very discouraging.

Hi Sis Velile. That’s where I’m currently looking. The chief would assign it’s people to make vacant land available to people & those assigned would sell it for about R100k. Yesterday we learnt that the beach house land is actually R350k, my heart was shattered 😩

Hi Sis Velile, I’m not sure if been to Nonoti Beach, in Stanger. I’ve been seeing pictures of sites for sale there on Facebook, I’m not sure if it’s legit. I’m abroad & I can’t do much about finding out whether it’s legit but I’ll have some of my family go there to inquire about it.

This is close to where I leave. Velile is right, please be careful of scammers. Go to the village and find a family willing to sub divide and sell you a plot. I got my land through linage in 2012, back then things were different, now even izinduna have to increased their fee. People have become greedy unfortunately.

In 4years I've 50,I planing to settle in Tsolo Village,just off the N2,The are plots for sale there,I got mine for a mere R15000😅😅😅😅

I actually tried this in the Eastern Cape by the coast. I want land right in front of the beach/sea. Purchase was rejected because I’m a female and unmarried. That was disappointing. I’m still interested but 😅I don’t know where to start outside of my our tribal lands 😅

Please do that because you need to see the village and make a decision based on what you see as well as get to make deals personally than via telephone calls. Sorry to hear that. I tell people everyday that they must acquire land from village chiefs and must visit the villages first, research and get proper processes. You can not buy land from strangers who contact you on internet and WhatsApp.
