My suggestion for the fireplace is to do the mantle in the faux wood and the rest of it in the green color. Hope ya’ll had a nice vacation 🦋

I always clean the house, wash all the bedding, clean out the fridge and take out the trash before vacation. I also make a list for each person so we don't forget anything. I usually try to rent something that has a washer/dryer, I wash our laundry the day before we head back so I don't have to do it when we get home. I hope you have a safe trip and have fun!!!🦋

Yes Girl....im depressed if I dont come home to a clean house & money. It makes it feel like its not even worth it...that just me!!

Maybe do the mantel wood and the bottom of the fireplace green?? You can also accent the wall green and do the fireplace wood.🦋

Next year, mix some sand into your raised garden beds. It helps to keep the soil from becoming impacted, and it also helps the plant roots to spread more easily in the soil. This also works for houseplants and potted plants outside. I usually mix about 1 part sand to 4 parts dirt. Also, your tomato plants may have tomato worms. The worms are green like the plants. They will strip a plant of its leaves and eat the tomatoes, too. They get as big as your finger and have a horn on their head. I use Sevin Dust. Not crazy about using anything not natural, but I have never found anything else that works. I hope your vacation is relaxing and fun 🦋 ❤😊

Our pre-vacation duties are to make sure the house is spotless, the trash is out, and to empty the fridge of any food that may spoil while we are gone. I'm so excited for you all to get a pool. We had one for our kids when they were younger. A good tip for pools is put a small dish pan or even a baby pool at the base of the stairs full of water. When the kids get in and out of the pool they can rinse the grass/dirt off their feet to keep your pool from getting dirty. We also have that fly trap because we live in the country. It works amazing. A tip for the stuffed animals - they make bean bag style bags you can fill with the animals and then the kids can sit on them too. 🦋

Best thing to do with your shock is to mix it with water in a bucket then pour around the edges of the pool. That is what I do to my pool. My pool man taught me this! Hope all of you have a great vacation🦋🦋🦋

I love your packing method for the boys!

I always like to have someone here in my house when I leave on a vacation. This way my fur babies aren’t inconvenienced if we cannot take them. I still clean before but I leave the fridge/pantry stocked, and I’ve been pretty lucky to find the house in the same condition that I left it. Enjoy your vacation. I also make sure I have clean bedding and the bed is made, all dishes are done and put away and of course trash cans are empty. I love the bean bag stuffed animal storage we got from Amazon. It's so easy to put all the animals in and they can use it for a seat.

They have a bean bag chair, but instead of stuffing, you add stuffed animals. Not only is great storage for her animals, it is functional as well! It will give her a place to sit on.

I am with you - I always take off one day before vacation to clean the house before we leave. Suggestion for next year’s garden - mix some pete moss in with your garden soil so the soil is not so dense - this allows roots to spread and helps plants stay hydrated after watering. You can buy it at any Lowe’s or garden center.

Oh my! The kiddos will love that pool! I always cleaned everything, especially the laundry and cleaning out the fridge! I’ve been gardening since COVID and you are right it is definitely a learning process, but it’s a fun process. Just a tip for when you fertilize sprinkle it on top of the soil around the bottom of the plant and water it in.

I always clean before I leave for a week vacation or a quick trip. We haven’t done our garden yet. So hot & humid here. I’m still doing house projects and it’s probably why I haven’t rushed the garden yet. Some days-I want to clone myself. 😂 Have a great & safe vacation! 🦋

For your zucchini I know this sounds crazy but if you have an umbrella you could shade it for the hottest part of the day. I have a hydrangea bush I had to do that to before it got really established. I just clamped the umbrella on a chair next to the plant. Maybe it will help before you have to move the plant. 🦋 I’m taking my kids to the island of pigeon Forge at the end of July. Before we go on any trip I have to have a clean house. And laundry all done before hand and put up. Kelly, I was taught to water after the sun goes down that way the soil stays wet all night. The water will evaporate during the heat of the day leaving the plant parched if you water in the morning. 🦋

It depends on where you live as well. In the south everything tends to get fungus and other nasty things if you water at night, especially tomatoes.

I’ve boarded my twice and never again.. my one dog cries from the time I drop her off and I stay upset the whole time I’m away, I have had someone come to my home and keep them but now I just take them with me. Hi Kelly. Same as you I make sure the trash is all out and dishes are done. I make sure for the most part everything is tidy because yes it’s the worse to come back from vacation to a messy home. And when we’re on vacation (typically rent airbnb) I was all our clothes the day before we head home so I’m not stuck at home washing all I have to do is put them away lol.

🦋The heat here in GA is crazy~ I’m a used to be Miami girl, and I can’t take it here💙. A little suggestion on laundry, a 1/2 cup of vinegar, it softens and cleans! 🦋 Enjoy and safe travels on your vacation 🦋💙

The zucchini likes the sun. Mine does very well in very hot summer weather. Make sure you are watering enough on very hot days. Also, you have a new garden so it takes time to build nutrients. If you go to your local nursery they can help you troubleshoot your soil and what your plants.

🦋 Before we leave for vacation I like to check through the fridge. Throw away any perishables and clean yhe fridge.
