The footage was very clear. Which model camera do you prefer. It seems my decade+ old one just isn't worth setting up!

I don't blame you I don't do any tree work in the summer unless its down and blocking a road or trail ....fall, winter in spring yes - during summer it can wait! lol

In some countries in Europe it's even mostly forbidden to do tree work in the summer. Nesting season for birds, growing season for trees, root funghi might spread... And yes, also over here there's a wilfire ristk. It's just so much easier to just leave it for the winter.

Thats a hungry looking bear, stay safe I know all too much about bush fires cheers from OZ.

I noticed that I could create sparks just by hitting the wedge with my big hammer when I'm trying to split big rounds of wood. But of course I can't do such kind of work in the heat, so that's another reason to be lazy in such days - to not create a fire hazard. :)

I just drove through your neck of the woods coming back from the Applegate area. Yep, it was/is hot there. I only saw one fire so I guess that's good. Crossing my fingers that no new ones start. Great pics on the trail cam. Which ones are you using? My trail cams claim to be super high resolution but don't look as good as yours.

@@Bushman9 if you're going to leave them unattended, you have to disconnect the batteries.

Marin County CA. - yeah, we are in a heatwave here now, highs around 103, but we did have 3 consecutive days with the high of 118 ! …. In 1972. !! Remember that well as a kid- haven’t seen anything close to that in 50+ years. Weather patterns come and go

@@kenbrown2808 well, that's an assumption you could only make with the above mistakes, plus hubris! For shame. Shade does, in fact, keep you cool. The more of it, the better.

@@willtheoct and yet, temperatures are always measured IN THE SHADE. which means as hot as it was on his property, it was that hot IN THE SHADE. and it was also that hot in the untouched parts of his woods. but the part where he cleared the lightweight fuels and ladder fuels and standing deadwood, are less likely to have a devastating fire, because he has created defensible space. the only hubris here is you, thinking shade magically stops hot air.
