Hello guys from countries where it is cold and a lot of diesels, please learn to use diesels, there are diesels before you start, you need to wait until the spiral on the instrument panel goes out, otherwise you will break your diesel engine so quickly, or the whole car will become unusable Good luck sisters and brothers.

they makes the same mistakes .you should heating in the first contact 5 or 6 times and wait to the wire indicator in the dashboard turn off and you should start the engine very quickly after heating because the glow plug it's cools down quickly very very quickly if the engine won't start you should be repeat the same operation . welcome for any critical comment.

There are many additives and types of blends in diesel fuels. Summer diesel fuel sold in a warm country, can block your filter even in -5 -10*C already. Winter blends sold mostly in Europe won't be good until -40, I reckon they can cause trouble in -30 already. (In Poland they sell -32*C grade diesel this winter, but who cares if we have -5 today and its the coldest day of the whole winter XD) Regions like those use special arctic blends, some owners use aftermarket antigel additives too. This is why sometimes diesels in Siberia start easier in -30 -35 than same engines in Europe at -20 -25. Different fuel blends.

I had a Ford Orion with the same 1.8D engine that the escort has at 11:18 . It was a total bitch to start when its below -10. All glow plugs were fine, battery was brand new, but i still had to call a mate to tow it to start it. Until i installed a oneway valve on the fuel line, after installing it, it wasnt such a hassle to start it. Three times ignition to get the glow plugs heated up and started on a second or third attempt.
