A shout out to Florida emergency management. I live in a manufactured home in fairway village largo and with help of my veterans affairs case manager,, was evacuated to Dunedin middle school used as emergency shelter for this hurricane. I'm still at the Dunedin middle school which was used for emergency shelter during evacuation, its special needs people. The staff have been complete professionals very kind and loving, supplied excellent care food and service to citizens. Thank you to all employees, emergency people and staff in taking care of us. Still waiting to get approved so we can return too our homes. A few grumpy citizens wanting to leave but I'm impressed by the kindness and love the staff showed and continues to do so. I will probably never again be in the company of a finer group of people. Thank you, too all that served and protected us.

@Davrotu72 i don't have any past experience with this staff, agencies. This was arranged by calling emergency management that was supplied in the local newspaper flyer you receive in you're mail along with standard junk mail. They arranged everything in a timely professional manner and all service was truly professional. Keep in mind its emergency shelter, but lots of thought went into preparation. The many different staff people all worked as a team, very impressive, I can't say enough. In addition , they put in many hours with little sleep. Full attention was given those in need.

I feel sorry for all who are affected with this strong hurricane..Stay strong and do not lose hope. love from Philippines.. As i watch the houses, it seems that it is not a hurricane resistant house, Homes that are built using concrete often have a much greater ability to withstand strong wind and rain, and should have a second floor higher to protect you from storm surge and floods.
This video was shot right behind my work that’s been completely flattened. Insane
WOW! The unrelenting force is what gets me! @@Graphics_Card while my heart goes out to these people, the fact of the matter is that this happens every so many years, and it's the same routine every time-- stuff gets destroyed, news coverage shows crying people and the aftermath/destruction, and then people stay there and it happens again and again, rinse and repeat. Living in a mobile home in a place well known for its hurricanes isn't a very smart choice. Hi
Hurricane Ian was my 31st birthday gift from Mother Nature! I wish I could have met him!
Had I not moved back home north, this would have been my situation. I'm sure the home didn't survive being the eye wall traveled over the area I once lived n. A little voice within me kept telling me to leave. Never ignore that voice !
This footage is superior to the "professional" channels. Thanks guys!
I'm in Englewood. Watching a couple minute clip is nothing compared to the 12 straight hours of this. It was like sitting a foot away from train tracks along with pounding rain. My inside walls shook pictures off and flung things off of shelves(I'm in a cement block home, not a mobile home btw) . There's a boat trailer still on top of the trees down my road. Signs, street lights and pieces of houses is literally everywhere. Water just came back on but pressure is low. Power might be back on in a week or so but at least half of the power poles are on the ground or leaning half way over. We watched porches ripped off of neighboring houses and fly down the street. The intensity of the storm along with it's size was one thing, but it moved so freaking slow and Englewood rode the top part of the eye so we didn't have even one minute where he eased up. It was brutal. I wish I could personally thank every local emergency personnel along with the convoys of FEMA, National Guard, disaster teams from all over the country along with power trucks from EVERYWHERE.
Thanks!
I always questioned y these houses in Florida are not built with blocks totally because of the hurricanes they experience. In Jamaica the most damages we would experience are the lost of roofs. That's y my house is a decked roof only an earthquake can get that down. But it is heartbreaking to see what's going on. Hope most people were able to leave

Thank you for sharing this. We hope to show it to our mobile home park residents in Largo (where we were far more fortunate than our southern neighbors) in hopes of instilling in them the truth of the situation. We cannot stay in our park just because we believe "it won't happen to us". or "we'll be fine if we just stay indoors". This is real. This is dangerous and all the evacuation warnings need to be taken seriously. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those so seriously impacted by this storm.

Yes absolutely! That’s a great idea and just by nature we don’t always appreciate the level of danger until we see it in a way that hits home or end up coming face to face with it! I live in Riverview and I know that if god forbid we end up with a direct hit to our area by a major storm it’s going to be catastrophic and if people do not listen and evacuate we could easily see another extremely deadly Hurricane Katrina situation or easily worse.
I give you all Storm Chasers credit for doing what you do so that us 'At home storm chasers' can watch the devastating impact. Is there ever a time when you decide "Okay, enough is enough, let's get out of here?" Prayers for all who are being effected by this devastion. 🙏
Oh my god! Keepsafe sir idol. Thanks for sharing this vidio. Gos bless!

This is why you don't want to be in a mobile home whether it's in a tornado or hurricane.

These homes actually fared better than i would expect. And some people don't have a choice. I live in a doublewide, and we turned a large set of concrete steps into a tornado shelter, because I got tired of having to run down to the creekbed every time there was a tornado warning.

@@Graphics_Card , I understand. But if you are elderly or disabled or poor, and there is no one to help you, being required to and actually being able to are not the same thing. @@Graphics_Card you completely missed what they said and fail to understand that the news can tell people to leave all they want. Most people have no where to go or no one to turn to in these situations (common sense). To go somewhere you need a couple hundred dollars to a thousand and most people don’t just have that lying around (also common sense) The gas prices in FL were even made more expensive when people were trying to fill up their gas tanks to evacuate.. It’s not easy just to get up and go without being able to afford it. Not everyone has the funds or resources where they are able to relocate to a safe destination. (Common sense)
