    I kind of agree. The stone chips on the frame can be touched up but I accept the fact that Kellan is helping Urban make the best in class so everything has to be perfect. I wish the auto industry would try 1/2 as hard to give us good products.

    still not a 100% bullet proof van. Call me picky but if I was buying a van from a top tier company, charging good money and wanted to keep the van for 20 years plus I wanna know it's 100% not 99%. Urban are always trying to improve there products which is awesome

    That's some caravan luxury with stability and safety. Just on a side line we have a 13ft hybrid, a luxury upgrade from our rear fold camper trailer, but obviously quite small. Like you I love my espresso café style coffee but can't fit a full size machine so decided to try a Bellman coffee maker. Bloody amazing coffee, takes up hardly any space and don't need electricity. I'm a qualified automotive spray painter. Powder coat is great, but prep is key. If I were them, I would do the new powder coat, then over all the draw bar area, I would be using clear film pads over it all, like what you see on new cars around the wheel arch areas ect. Have that on the areas that cop a hiding will stop it. Then after a few years you can peel it all off and either put more on or just leave the newly revealed paint

    Hi guys, loved your review, I have been taking notes on your pros and cons so ty :)) there is another item that I have been following so as to reduce setup time, and that is electric Hydraulic stabiliser legs, something to keep an eye on... TC be safe :)

  • @evil17

    @evil17

    11 ай бұрын

    Nice, I like that idea, being lazy I have thought about this too. I was wondering if just electric stabiliser actuators would work ok? Cheaper, lighter & easier to setup automation & safety checks so you cant move when they are down, could/would also serve as a theft preventative. I guess a electric/hydraulic system would offer the extra grunt to actually lift & self level the van automatically, but it would also add a substantial weight gain.

I think if something is 99% in your eyes thats pretty good and I am not saying dont try to improve on that because if you stop trying to you fall behind. But 99% is pretty damn impressive. I liked your review of your van as its honest and down to earth... on a side note I saw your lap tops and was wondering what you use, windows or apple.. Could you please advise what brand of dust reduction system you are running. Thanks Just another thing from a seasoned caravaner…(1) Pull your awning out by sliding your rope to the middle of the drum so that it pulls evenly when releasing the locks(2) slide your awning arm up and lock in place on the drum before lifting the awning up to your desired height rather than trying to lift the arm up when the awning is already at the desired height. Do not lock the top arm until you have your ropes on and then tighten the top arm once you have the full tension on your ropes. Then install your intermediate rafters and anti-flap rafters so that you don’t have the rafter pin falling out of the drum which causes the rafter to fall down and hit the side of the van. Not being critical but just noticed what you were doing in the video….jumping/high reaching to slide it up to lock in on the drum

    Keeping a modern caravan for 30 years? Hmm, I do have my doubts about anything they make these days lasting that long if it goes off road. Not that I'll be around to see if I'm right or not LOL. As something of an old school caravanner I do have a bit of a giggle about all the modern conveniences people use these days. We spent 7 years on the road full time without even having an indoor shower/toilet. Just a pop up tent and a porta potty.

    Have you guys ever considered changing the tyres from the off-road ones you currently have fitted to low rolling resistance highway type tyres. I would love to see you test the current tyres vs highway tyres to see whay difference you get in fuel economy when towing and if it makes any discernible difference to teh way the van tows, in my mind it makes no sense to have high traction tyres when they are not driven, I imagine you may lose some sideways grip but I think in reality it will be negligible and the gain sin fuel economy will out way nay negatives.

    The mud terrain tyres have a stronger sidewall compared to highway tyres. If it was a on road caravan, highway tyres would be better but the risk off road is punctures

    Enjoyed the show as always. I disagree that 99% success should be treated as a fail. I get the focus on protecting your integrity, but unless Urban was guaranteeing zero chips, it’s not a fall IMO. If they threw everything out that wasn’t 100% (normal wear & tear) they wouldn’t have a business. If you point out the issue and say it’s 99%, that’s still impeccable integrity.👍😊

    @@SarahandKeelanTravels I get it. That said, how much will they spend to eliminate chips? Is the extra weight of a thicker coating worse than 1% chips? It may not be good business to target Zero chips. I like the commitment to perfection, it’s just not always good business. This is not a criticism, just a perspective from working with clients making R&D decisions. Wear & tear is part of the deal. Still a brilliant summary by you and the fact you have committed to being able to say what you want about products you’re getting discounts on, is superb!!

    I got to say, storing/putting your coffee machine above your washing machine is absurd. You need to get someone to make a surround or base plate for the coffee machine n leave it on the kitchen bench. If it makes a big noise, take it outside or just use a microwave until everyone is awake… or buy a second one and store it in an outside compartment!!

    How do you do an honest review when your a sponsor or ambassador for the company?

  • @SarahandKeelanTravels

    @SarahandKeelanTravels

    11 ай бұрын

    Good question, You see a lot of BS on the internet these days and it's very valid. ill run you through the way we communicate with brands who want to work with us and the vetting that takes place so we can keep our integrity, make honest review videos like this and show our awesome viewers the respect they deserve. the first thing we say to brands if they want us to review/ use there products. "are you happy for us to honestly review this product, good or bad?" if the answer is yes then we come back and say we need X amount of time to test it the product before we show it in any capacity, if the product is no good or we don't believe in it will send it back. which gets us in trouble a lot and makes companies very upset but we refuse to promote cr4p! We always establish a relationship and understanding with the company where you are able hold your audience at the highest regard & respect them by being able to say whatever you like about the products, the good and the bads and NO personal experience or opinion with the product is censored from them. You also be 100% transparent about the relationship (which we did) You tell the truth about the product and highlight the fails & the bad (which we did) you highlight the good (which we did) highlight the things you would do differently next time, as the van is not perfect. that is how. We are the only " Van ambassadors" openly getting on YT and highlighting negatives about a caravan company they are working with Which we also did with the last 2 vans "sponsored" or not. We think the Reason Urban want us as ambassadors is because people trust us and we hold our integrity over a pay check any day of the week and will continue to into the future! hope that answers your question.
