    I'm guessing she won't figure out her super-ability until something absolute fails to kill her: drugged-punch-bowl-plot takes out everyone but her; car-bomb explodes and seconds later she thuds down butt-first on the twisted-wreckage; or someones power blows the top-floor-wall out sending her down onto powerlines and run over by a trolley unscathed.

    @@22espec maybe based off the fact it's not just the one family that gets powers, but in My Hero Academia he gets a power in like the second episode. This looks like it's about her dealing with basically everyone she knows getting one except her. Plus it's heavily suspected he was born with a power but it was stolen by his doctor, they definitely show the doctor that told him he wouldn't get one worked closely with All For One. So unless there's a chance her power was stolen or she inherits someone else's power imo it's more like Encanto. Plus MHA is about them learning to use their powers properly, encanto is basically just living their lives with the powers. Here she's getting help to unlock hers but it didn't look like anyone was getting any training.

    @@katehu7194 We're not animals Kate. Your assumption hinges on that for some weird reason. You do realise we've used nuclear weapons to wipe out cities before right? You do realise that we've engaged in wars involving multiple countries right? You think if everyone was armed it would somehow have the opposite effect? How asinine is your perspective to deny human history itself regarding its use of weapons?

  • @katehu7194

    @katehu7194

    Жыл бұрын

    @@altustalent410 I understand. You are an "idealist". I am a "realist". I think nuclear weapons have made our world safer because of their deterrent effect. In the same vein, I would feel safer with an armed bodyguard than an unarmed bodyguard. Evil lies in the intention and misuse not the tool itself. If everyone had a weapon, it's possible less non-syndicate crime would happen. Most criminals go for easy pickings and expect little resistance. Even rage killings may decline. Nothing like staring down a barrel of your target's gun to shock your senses awake.

  • @altustalent410

    @altustalent410

    Жыл бұрын

    @@katehu7194 Firstly, your analogy of the bodyguard is asinine because bodyguards actively defend whereas a nuclear missile is strictly offensive. An offensive weapon doesn't deter anything, it eliminates. None of these are "in the same vein" as you've asserted because your definitions are confused, you haven't got them right. Secondly you refer to yourself as a realist (rather arrogantly) in complete denial of human history. Nuclear weapons and any other advanced weaponry has actually accelerated our capacity to conduct warfare on a large scale thereby resulting in more deaths per capita and this is a factor of greater safety in your supposedly realist mind? Seriously? This means we're killing more even easier, not less because the coverage is wider precisely because of the advanced weaponry. You haven't studied history, you're speculating ignorantly. Hand someone a weapon and it'll be used. That's why you require special permits under certain conditions to carry certain weapons and the sale of other weapons are strictly banned for civilian use. Where is your supposed realist mind when acknowledging that governments are actively aiming to limit weapons to people for specific use only?

  • @katehu7194

    @katehu7194

    Жыл бұрын

    @@altustalent410 "Realism" and "Idealism" are proper terms for two schools of thought for international relations, particularly useful to understand security theories. Realism refers to seeing the world as it is: no one can truly trust anyone. Idealism refers to seeing the world as it could be: peace and harmony and everyone trusting each other to just be kind. There is no arrogance intended. I apologize if that was confusing. You may find the "sole purpose" debate on nuclear weapons to be interesting. The argument is that nuclear weapons should be used to deter and, if necessary, retaliate instead of actually be used to attack/first use. This interpretation squares with a bodyguard idea: prepared to fight but not actively seeking to provoke one. Please review the policy and consider making remarks to your Congressional representatives if you agree/disagree with the ideas.
