Extraction's Ending Flawlessly Explained

The Netflix original film Extraction may have felt like a standard action thriller at first glance, but there was actually a lot going on under the surface. Anyone who expected Chris Hemsworth to play a charismatic, unstoppable action hero was in for a surprise, as his character, Tyler Rake, is a somber, morally complex character who just wants to die. He of course goes through some significant changes over the course of the film, and his ultimate fate in the ending seems a bit ambiguous. Let’s take a look at the director of Extraction’s flawless explanation of the film’s ending.

Brian So Daniel Craig was flat and lifeless, as though he’s bored to death playing Bond and can’t wait to leave. Casino Royale and Skyfall were good Bond movies not because Craig was great in them. Bond is dead now that they’ve gone extreme woke and made an androgynous, lesbian, black ‘woman’ 007.

Mike Coxlong I think Henry can be a good 007 too, maybe even more so than Chris because he has the elegant quality in him. Sometimes I think people are over emphasizing the gender neutral thing. Men and women are born to be different and so be it. When 007 is built around a capable gentlemen then it’s ok to follow the tradition. There is no need to make it a woman. Batman doesn’t need to Batwoman nor Wonder Woman need to Wonder Man.

Randeep Hooda is a great actor and at first when I saw the trailer I thought they haven't utilised him properly but I was wrong actually had a great character arc. After Ovi gets kidnapped Randeep Hooda talks toh his wife neha Mahajan (her real name I don't think she had a name in the movie 😅) that he knew Tyler and his team before. So maybe we can have a prequel about how he knew them.🤔😁

I figured it out. So at the start of the movie Tyler jumps off the cliff and lands in the water, he then begins to see his family on the beach, he decides if he wants to go be with them (die) or swim up for air and live. He chose to swim up for air, to live. What if at the end of the movie he was doing the same thing, deciding to go be with his family (die) or swim up for air and live, I think he swam up for air because he sees that kid as his family now and he wants to live for him. What do u guys think?

I agree, as much as I liked his character, him living through that would feel cheap. They could do anything with a prequel though, more great action and maybe even going into the implied past romance he may have had with his commander. Either way, this film was a welcome surprise considering how stale netflix has been. Chris Hemsworth has usurped everyone in this lane and placed himself along with Keanu Reeves for firearm-based action in opinion, he killed that role.

This could go 3 ways. A prequel called “Pre-Extraction” or something like that where we learn about Tyler Rake and how he became the person he did such as when he found out his son first died and how he became such a killing machine or it could be about him extracting and saving Gaspa to show how Tyler saved his life and why Gaspa owed him in this film. There could also be a sequel called “Next Extraction” where if Tyler is alive at the end of Extraction then it takes place from after he supposedly died but before he see’s Ovi swimming (so it takes place in the 8 months) and we see how he survived and he’s saving himself/extracting himself to get home and be safe aswell as to see Ovi. Final way is that this is a one of film which I personally would be fine with as I feel it was an asking film and the ending was satisfying in terms of the viewers knowing that Tyler did all he could to save Ovi and he completed his mission as well as now being with his son. Excited to see what they do 👀🔥

I think that Tyler survived. A very important quote that the movie shows us is “ You drown not by falling in the river but by staying submerged in it”. Rake could be doing the meditation thing under the water to wait until the place calms down. Dead bodies usually float, and there was none. Also, a bullet to neck isn’t always insta dead. If the bullet missed the tubular and trachea he could survived.

Just finished watching this movie and I LOVED it! Interesting and good plot/story, loved the characters, great casting, amazing action scenes! A friend recommended it to me like 3 hours ago and I just went straight in without knowing what it really was about. So I didn't really have any expectations, but BOY am I happy I gave this one a go! The only negative thing I have to say is that I wasn't exactly happy that they killed off Amir as well, he was a good antagonist. Would've been more interesting if he stayed alive and appeared in a sequel. Definitely needs either a sequel or a prequel. I'd be happy with either. Some ideas: A sequel could show us how Tyler's death affected Ovi so much that he gets off the right path and goes in search for the one(Farhad) who killed him to exact revenge. Maybe Farhad becomes a leader of an influential gang or something. Prequel, more about the life of Tyler and his family, about how he got into this work of field. Should bring Gaspar back for this too. Show us how Tyler saved his life and what actually went down. This one could take place in Afghanistan.

I love the contrast between Tyler and Saju. Saju, from what we've seen, has stable home life, for lack of better terms. His wife trusts and supports him while having a son. Tyler on the other hand is suicidal, fatalistic and relies on drugs and alcohol. He has no family, son dead years before and marriage that fell apart. Both are strong men and both have good reasons to do what they did, Tyler for redemption and Saju for protection. Arif is a good foil for these men as well, although more ruthless to his henchman Fahrad, he actually sees something in him and wanted Fahrad to rove himself, although in a twisted way. All in all movie was great.

My vote is to bring Tyler back and it starts when he goes in the water. Tyler is a beast he can survive the hell he went through to get Ovi out. Tyler and Ovi have a bond now and Tyler has come to grips with losing his son and finds the will to live through Ovi. Bring him out of the water, heal and get to Ovi - Maybe Nik goes back and gets him out - The bodyguard idea is good and maybe some flashbacks to some history of the battles Tyler and Nik had but not so sure about the romance angle....this is a bad ass fight movie with an emotional aspect with Tyler and Ovi. Perhaps that street kid makes an appearance again because he needs to be shot down! Please do not make a prequel...we need to keep Extraction alive...Tyler has more to say and more to do!! Love this movie!

You guys really don't watch it properly, saju worked for indian mafia boss father of kidnapped kid .it was his plan to employ mercenary team to extract the kid and later get rid of mercenary because he didn't had the resources and men to do it in straight forward way and he is all alone for this rescue. He is responsible for the kid or the indian mafia boss will kill his wife and kid thats why he applies this trick.

When he fell in the water I thought about the saying that obi said, you don't drown because you can't swim, you drown because you can't resurface. Maybe Tyler had put something into his head and strengthened his will to fight to stay alive
