Thanks, this video is the only video on youtube that actually provides actual software that assists in filtering keywords from a job post to write ATS software-checked resumes, a great video

Thank you so much! For the longest time, hearing the term ATS just made my blood boil and looking for key words and phrases to incorporate into my resume was a daunting and challenging task. Hearing your spin take on how we can turn the ATS into something that plays into our favor, how we can change our perception of the ATS as a tool that can eliminate discrimination (though I do not think this is as applicable to entry level applicants), how looking for key terms can actually help with general resume improvement, and that learning/remembering the key words can greatly assist in a first interview has been extremely helpful.

A informative video , one question I need to ask we come across different job description while applying for multiple jobs , do we need to make different CV while applying for different jobs ?
Very useful information... Thanks a lot
Thank you sir for this valuable information. Can we add periods (full stops) at the end of bullet points in CV?
Summary of the video : You have to change your job description every time you are applying for a job. For suppose, we are in Desparate search of jobs and we are applying on an average of 5-8 jobs per day. Then you have to change skills and job description for each and every fuckin job. Coz even if the job is same in every company, different hr use different job description.... Utterly applying for 5-8 or 5-10 jobs in a day takes only maximum of 1 hour. But changing the fuckin job descriptions almost takes 4-5 hours in total for all jobs in average... DARK SECRET. NO ONE TELLS YOU THIS. EVERY ONE SIMPLY SAYS, PREPARE RESUME WELL..

Very good Video. please make more videos like this
Thanks sir. Wonderful work. I wonder if you have videos on how to write an actual CV and cover letter using extracted keywords. That would be very helpful! 🙂
Great tools! Thank you!
I really appreciate your video, it made things much more clear. Something is still confusing for me. The main problem I am having with incorporating the phrase or words in my resume is that it ruins the balance of white space in my resume. Like the new sentence might cause a few words to go to a new line, and fixing everything to fit perfectly on one line (to save space) takes so much of my time. Time wise, it just doesn't worth it. Can I just list the keywords in my skills section of the resume instead? Like is there a priority score given by ATS to keywords mentioned in skills vs experience section of the resume?
Many Thanks for the knowledge sharing

ATS, another example (out of many) of HR laziness. Then you get the interview and finally get to that rage inducing questions that requires all of your patience to stop yourself from reaching across the table and slapping the interviewer in the face (i.e "Why should we hire you"), only for you to answer that question and then get a blank stare when you ask "why should an ideal candidate work for this company?"
Thank you @Sumit
I recently read it's good to put the job title under your name at the top of the resume. Did your list and word cloud match?
Thanks Very Much Sumit
Hi! I happen to come across your video & I am learning well about the keyword thing in ATS. However, my point is how an entry level person use these techniques. I am a career changer from a completely unrelated field. I am trying to get into tech from a completely non-technical field. I also find a lot of action words these days in job description but I am not able to include them in resume because they don't align well with my work experience from previous non-tech background. My target job involves coding and other stuff but my main field was customer service where I was not generating sales or deploying or contributing into financial growth of the company. I find it really tough to integrate these words into my responsibilities.

If you have found a tech job already, great. If not, maybe it might be better to get into tech support roles and then transfer to coding internally later on. Given, the recent tech layoffs, doing a career change to tech might not be the best timing right now.
Thank You sumit!

Welcome, my pleasure.
An older video so not sure you are watching comments anymore, but how do you take 50 + key words and add them multiple times on a two page document. Seems rather daunting, and impractical. Any advice or clarification might be helpful.
My name is Sandipan Sarkar.I am an aspiring data analyst but not getting calls from HR or the recruiters.I need some help so that it can pass through te ATS
Thank you sir.
Amazing 😍
Does the frequency of a keyword appearance increase the percentage match. For example, if there are 10 keywords and you have all 10 of them in your resume that’s and 100% match. How does it compare to someone else that has those 10 keywords but some appear twice in their resume would they have a higher match or it’s the same 100%
@omgmaw
8 ай бұрын
I don't think it makes a big difference. As you meet that benchmark, you should have a better chance of getting your resume to a hiring manager than people who did not reach 100% .
Thank you!

Hi Sumit, Thnks for this informative video, however do u also have a rough count on the number of times these words should be used in the resume. Are there different ATS'? Do they have different algorithms?
@bobbybelcher9097

There are dozens of ATS systems out there. The more something appears in the word cloud the more I would incorporate it in my resume.
@YourExecCoach
3 жыл бұрын
There are different ATS systems, but they have similar algos with regards to keywords. For word frequency, I agree with Barry. For the top 3 words in the job description, repeat it 3-4 times and other words one or two times.
thank you for this video sir. i have shifted my strategy fully for my job hunting like you are doing it now. now i focus on applying 2 to 3 roles a day everyday instead of hitting the apply button 20 times. i want to know your opinion of a software called "jobscan". if you have used it of course.

I find it very helpful and insightful in terms of formatting and keywords.. estimated match rate is 75% but 60%+ is suffice depending on job description

Very confusing everytime u need to change ur CV and the original CV will be mixed with some fake experience to match with ATS.its unfair
Thank you Sumit for this insightful video! Can't wait to implement the learnings from here. What's your thought on "should a person edit the resume every time before applying for a job or make a list of the key words from 4-5 job description and add those key words on one resume and apply with the same?" Looking forward for your response and thank you once again!

Glad you found it useful Neelam. That is a really good question, I’ll do a video on it soon 😊 In short though I usually target 3-4 different types of jobs and create specific CV for each of those job types. So it’s not overly specific to each role, but sufficiently customised to attract the attention of the hiring manager. Hope this helps !

I am not a big fan of it myself Anuj, but hating it will not help get a job unfortunately ! There are absolutely ways around the ATS - if one is a good networker :)
Would the ATS still work if keywords is in white ? for example; if I put key words at in snall fonts (size 6) and highlighted in white so it can't be seen by human. Essentially, making key tags in my CV for the softwware to pickup but not for human to read. :) Hope that make sense ?

ATS are very advanced nowadays, they would easily pick up words that are highlighted white. I wouldn't do this. If you're caught you can be blacklisted from a company.
