These last few days I've been trying to make atmospheres out of songs I like. The idea is to accompany - in a very personal way - a future role playing game campaign I will master for some good buddies of mine.
"Unveiling The Obscure" is not a great song at all IMO, uneven as most of Extol's songs. But, first time I heard the intro was really memorable. I thought its airy, even celestial colour would really fit a very special moment in my campaign.
So taking the intro and turning it into a loop is not really easy, considering my dummy level and the very minimal hardware and software I use (kind of old Acer notebook and free version of Audacity). As expected, the first tries were very mediocre, filled with clicks and rhythmical unevencies there and there... But I finally had a good surprise persevering in the track : you can actually hear some kind of a harmonic or piano note at the very beginning of each chord progression. Ole Børud knows how to put layers together for sure.
