Since the beginning of the war, President Zelenskyy has had to be on camera explaining why the rest of the world needs to invest in Ukraine, but what I cannot fathom is why any explanation is even necessary. It's as if us Americans and many others have amnesia about anything that happened before 1989 or beyond our own borders. Ukraine has not asked for troops or for any other country to fight with them or for them. The money that allies are 'giving' are being spent back to the countries for military hardware and of course future 'thank yous' are be pledged. We should not be asking WHY we need to support Ukraine but HOW Ukraine would like us to support their country. Slava Ukraini, not just for Ukraine, but for everyone.

That the rest of the western world understands , Finland and Sweden even joined NATO and that would never would have happened . Most are paid trolls working from St Petersburg or elsewhere but on a Kremlin paycheck. Some are russians who are just too far gone. A minority could be magas reading disinformation that originates from... russia mostly. The average citizen have no clue to the depth of russian disinformation, but it's been documented they had a role in BLM, MAGA, the alt-right, the border issue, everything that would stoke polarization and distrust. Same was with Kazakhstan, we were practically forced to give away all nuclear weapons left by the Soviet Union although Nazarbayev (our former president for 30 years) did have a choice to sell these weapons to Muslim countries. Their representatives visited Kazakhstan and offered big money. But what did Nazarbayev do? He gave away nuclear weapons in exchange for the guarantee of sovereignty from US and Russia and for the sake of peaceful development of the country. Same agreement as Ukraine has signed. Now we observe how this treaty isn't followed not only by Russia but by US as well. Why did US initially allow Russia to keep its nuclear weapons? Why only Ukraine and Kazakhstan were forced to refuse from it? Because US had too much trust in Russia. While we, the colony of Russia for more than 200 years, having similar history with Ukraine (we also had Golodomor that took away the lives of at least 2 mln ethnic Kazakhs in 1930s but the world doesn't know much about it), we have an ancient saying left us by our ancestors "Befriend with Russians, but always keep your fight axe by your side" which means NEVER trust Russians fully, always be ready to defend yourself. We've been their neighbours, their vassals and former suzerens (Golden Horde, Ghenghiz Khan's Empire) for many centuries. We know what they are far better than US does

As for Israel, they have made no good faith effort to find common ground with their neighbors. They walked away from this week's ceasefire negotiation. This man has elevated to a personal hero of mine within the last 2 years based on how he has kept his about face and not backed down even when staring annihilation& the death OF HIS COUNTRY/PEOPLE in the eye ... from every single thing my little tiny brain has been able to observe and learn about the situation, and even the history of Russia and Ukraine dating back almost a century, he has remained true to his people & himself. I hope I would be even half the man that he has been if I were in his shoes. My entire life I have only had one personal hero, Steve Irwin, but in the last couple years during this invasion, I can 100% honestly say he has secured his spot next to Steve as a personal hero of mine. Don't get me wrong I know that's not worth anything at all, but watching him speak candidly and from the heart during this interview and almost being able to feel the desperation in his voice but also the hope that he still has in his eyes.. this really hit me in the feels and I really needed to write this out. P.S.. im absolutely ashamed of the people that run my country, BOTH sides of the aisle.

I never took the time to watch a Zelensky interview, but now I see how challenged this man is. You can hear the cogs grinding inside his head while he tries to articulated the most simple sentences. In sheer numbers the Russians may suffered the most but that's only because they had the largest population. %-Wise there's a different picture. Russia lost 12.7% of its population, Ukraine lost 16.3% of it and Belarus 25.3%. Also... who raised the flag over the Reichstag? It wasn't the Russians, it was the 1st and 2nd Belorussian Front, the 1st and 2nd Polish Army, and the 1st Ukrainian Front. You should be ashamed, you spit on all those soviet soldiers and civilians who suffered and died for the cause, just so some idiots claim it was all alone Russia.

Much of it goes to supporting the Ukrainian economy thru payment to pensions, government workers etc. However, even the money spent here on weapons for the Ukraine just adds to demand in an inflationary economy. Instead of making and building stuff for our own country...oh, like a bridge or two, maybe some rail systems, we are making weapons for a foreign country which will most likely have to make a concessionary peace at some point, regardless.

What does Russia need Ukraine for? Russia presently has a land mass more than two times larger than any other country in the world, gaining territories lost in the past will only lead to the same final ending, loosing them again. The world has seen the rise and fall of governments that attempt to manage and control through expansion of their territories yet they have always ended in bankrupting their native country and losing those temporary gains of expansion and growth. You get too large and then more mistakes are made cascading into unexpected serious problems that lead to decline and decadence. The people of territories conquered do not like their society being controlled by a foreigner that simply exploits their culture and resources or forces them to adapt to the culture of a country beyond their own borders. Concentrating on what is now instead of what we had in the past that we want back will lead to better results since change is inevitable and there is no returning to the past, especially with world population growth expanding at it's present pace of the last century. Putin would have a better chance of being a great leader if he concentrated on improving the territories he now has under the government of the Russian Federation, helping these people have a better life which will lead to improved morale. Instead of improving the lives of people in Russia he is destroying many lives through this war which will eventually bankrupt the economy and morale of the people. Putin will not be satisfied until he has Zelenskyy as a ballet dancer in the Russian circus and more headaches and responsibility with conquered territories. Is it really worth the thousands of young Russian and Ukraine lives being lost in this war and devastating destruction of infrastructure, businesses and homes?
