This was so well done. I was focused on it during the complete presentation. To listen to President Zelensky, how grounded he is, not delusional, level headed, and full of love for his country was a gift to this East Canadian household. We continue to financially support Ukraine regularly. 💙🇺🇦💛 💝🇨🇦

I've been following up on the war closely till date, and this is one of the most unique, real and raw accounts of things on ground in Kyiv. Right from the subway setting, to the noisy trains disrupting the tempo of the interview, the terrified young girl trembling, and my favorite: President Zelensky himself helping David put on the translating device. Gold. This one's going into the history books. Slava Ukraini!

Mr. Zelensky is spot on about humour and its importance. It keeps your humanity, releases tension, helps us to focus on the necessary. I've always said there is a great similarity between Ukrainian and British humour - dark, dry, sometimes sarcastic. At a personal level, it's what got us through WW2 despite the overwhelming odds. Their humour will help the Ukrainian people to get through this too, just as it did us, with the help of its allies, especially the USA. Glory to Ukraine. Respect to America. 🙂

What an amazing man! What an amazing country! What amazing people! Thank you, David, for doing this interview. Thank you, President Zelensky for doing this interview. Your sense of humor, sense of humanity, and sense of love for your country, it’s people, and the freedom not only of Ukraine, but of the whole world…Thank you. I hope all of us in the United States sees this for what it is. Sees the investment we make in supporting Ukraine’s fight to save not just themselves, but all of us. They have their boots on the ground, the bombs in their skies, the deaths of their sons, daughters, parents…we do not. We do not, because they sacrifice for us in this terrible way. They deserve every penny of our support that we can give, and we should give freely and generously…understanding that if they fall, if the world allows them to fall, if the US and the world turns their backs on them…bombs will be in our skies, we will be sacrificing our lives for freedom because we failed to support a valiant fight against a terrorist state. Support these amazing people in any way you can. Their bravery in the face of such a massive enemy to us all, protects every one of us. We need to remember that. Slava Ukrainii. Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦, Glory to Freedom, for us all. With love and respect, from one supporter from the USA 🇺🇸 who values our freedom and our liberties, and gives great thanks to the sacrifice of the people of Ukraine 🇺🇦 who fight to defend their values which are our values. Slava Svoboda!

This terrible situation cannot be ignored or wished away, as if simply stopping help for Ukraine would stop Putin's aggression. It looks to me that Putin is the kind of person who would never stop until forced--sadly, tragically but really. And Zelensky and the Ukrainian people have surely shown that they are willing to use the help that is given to them to fight back--bravely and determinedly. Special thanks goes to Netflix for sharing this video.

Last year our community sponsored some Ukrainian families. I worked in a grade 4 class with one boy. Google translate is our friend. He wrote a poem about wheat, growing it and turning it into bread. He then made a picture with the blue sky and the gold earth was a wheat field. That is how I learned what the flag represents. 💙💛

Well, if you look at just the numbers, it’s not hard to come to the conclusion that Ukraine would fall in just a couple of days. Russia are very good at one thing… they are very good at fooling the rest of the world when it came to their military and it’s strenght. And then you have Zelensky, a pretty new president in a situation he wasn’t trained or prepared for. So yeah, a lot of people thought he would run away as fast as possible…. Luckily that didn’t happen, and hopefully what we are seeing now is the end of the russian federation, one that hopefully ends with Putin hanging from a lightpost like Mussolini!

I had tears and smiles. 2 comedians, both of whom have decent, perceptive and kindness within them, yet they understand just how valuable freedom is. Showing this on YT is a gift from Netflix and I was transfixed by them together with just the right touch of humor in the midst of what is truly a global issue and is so tragic. It makes one wonder. Do we need a Letterman in the White House? I ask that not as a casual matter or to be facetious. Men like Zelensky and Letterman care about ordinary persons and their asset value to freedom.

United we stand for Ukraine, for Ukrainians and President Zelenskyy - what a stand up, hero and fellow citizens. Loved that joke he told about NATO showing up. We are all linked together, and Ukraine fight is our fight! What a history they have to be able to fight for their nation and freedom - such dignity and resolve. They are all heroes to me, and role models. I had plans of visiting Ukraine and where to go. Such amazing people in MANY ways!! TYG. Thanks David for all the years you put up with all those G.E. Now, when he interviewed President Zelenskyy, it brought tears to my eyes several times to see the courage and the kindness, and, yes, the humor of President Zelenskyy. He loves his people. He loves Ukraine. I pray every day for the end of this terrible war, for the peace that Ukraine deserves. Courage, and Faith, and Wisdom I wish for President Zelenskyy and his country and people. That was wonderful of Dave letterman and as usual he did a fabulous job! Even though I keep updated every day of the situation in Ukraine and sewed and hung a huge Ukraine flag from my front verandah here in Albany, Western Australia, on the 25th February - this is the first time I’ve actually uncontrollably cried for Ukraine. Seeing Zelenskyy’s face at Bucha, followed by the huge photos of lost heroes in Kiev, the soldier holding the cat, tears just poured. We can’t let this drag on. We must give Ukraine proper NATO weapons to take out the bastards on the Black Sea. Biden stop pussyfooting around before China too will be attacking Taiwan because the west just dilly dallys!!! Macron - “go feck yourself” - you will never be the leader of the EU. Schulz - go back to Hogan’s Heroes ….

Thank you for posting the episode here. It's unfortunate that this war is still ongoing and he's right, the Russian ppl have mostly just feigned ignorance whether that's out of fear or because it's the easy thing to do. Whatever the reason their leaders actions is their actions and only they can put an end to this madness. Until then we should and must continue to support Ukraine, the rise of authoritarianism is increasingly concerning because we've all forgotten that freedom is something we have to continually fight to maintain. Peace has made us complacent.

"This man stood between Putin and the West. He stood for Ukraine freedom. He showed the world what is possible when good refuses to accept evil. The West should never forget how bravely he and all Ukrainians fought for democracy. May God bless and comfort Ukraine for their suffering and help them move past this horrific experience." - Chris Powers Glory to Ukraine! ✌🇺🇦🇺🇸✌

It's just so great to see David not joking around. He's worth of Dateline occasionally or perhaps he can do the BBC Conflict Zone seat if Tim leaves. He certainly surprised me and I enjoyed his humanity very much. I really hope that the President and team are safe while Kiev has the shite bombed out of it.

@Sticky59 It is necessary to forcefully oppose an authoritarian system, at every step. Because if you’re not opposing fascism, then you're definitely supporting it.

@BBHubbs So you're suggesting that fighting until the last Ukrainian is the best strategy? The fact that the US and Western Europe continue to funnel weapons into Ukraine suggests that this war is FAR from over. It's only going to lead to more tragedy as if Ukraine hasn't experienced enough already. On the other side of the spectrum, Russian civilians will also be killed in greater numbers. Since 2014 they have been a primary target in areas, such as Donbas and Lugansk. I don't expect a comment from you or anybody else for that matter. But you'll only come so far if you continue blinding yourself and believing in this propaganda. Before the war, you couldn't even place Ukraine on a map but suddenly you care about their nation and its people?

This is absolutely brilliant! Slava Ukraini 💙💛 I love how Zelenskyy immediately answers yes to if the war would stop if Pootin was no longer breathing, this just shows how well he knows him and the Russian government, politics and what have you, nobody wants this war but Pootin!
