Considering global warming, this seems pretty ignorant to me.

In what way? It's disappointing that she's sponsored by the bloated petrol-guzzling SUV maker Land Rover, but she's no global warming denier. "Mikaela Shiffrin leads push for winter sports sustainability amid climate crisis" -- The Guardian. I wish more countries were like Japan, where fast bullet trains transport you right into the heart of many ski areas. You can take Amtrak and get close to Lake Tahoe, Utah, and Colorado ski resorts instead of driving or flying, but it's a slow inconvenient slog with only one train a day.
