    You were up against the best sports team in history in this particular instance, not just the best rugby team, so I wouldn't take it it to heart. Plus a lot of the Canadian team aren't even pros. They stopped them from scoring in the last 20 min also, which most top tier teams don't even manage. Hopefully being on the world stage helps create more interest in the game there. Look at what Japan did, beating the world number 2 (Ireland) the other day. At the 1995 World Cup the All Blacks put 145 points on them... :D

    I thought Brad Weber had a great game, he has real speed on his pass and runs great support lines (as most halfbacks should). He's also got wheels, more top speed than Aaron or TJ. Sevu Reece and George Bridge won't be losing much sleep tonight, don't think Ioane did enough to warrant his 11 jersey back in more important games. Mo'unga and SBW were awesome, I honestly don't think we will win the RWC if Mo'unga gets injured, the Beau'unga gameplan is critical to our success.

I feel for Namibia this weekend because I guarantee the All Blacks also believe they left a few tries out there. Ruthless is what the world will see this weekend from the All Blacks vs Namibia & the scoreline won't be pretty at all...good luck to both teams anyway!!!

    It wouldnt of made a difference in the end, but in the first twenty mins i thought the ref was pretty poor,especially if you were Canada, that pass from Perenara to Todd leading up to Jordies try was a shocker, there was another real obvious one too and some infringements around the ruck areas that he probably should of pulled us up on. It irritates me when refs cant keep up or arent up to the occasion, especially when its us that gets the benefit, it gives the Northern Hemisphere guys more ammunition about how we get preferential treatment from the Refs and best cheats on the ground, and thats why we win all the time, as opposed to the fact that we are the most skillful as a whole, in my biased opinion of course haha

    Poor Canadians, there one chant to score and they went up against a brick wall right on the line. The Amateur teams are made up of lawyers, firemen, and Average Blue Collar guys who love rugby. Need a professional league in The Americas.

    Davy Franck. That wasn't Ian's question. He's not talking about the conversion. He wants to know why a penalty try was given since no foul play occurred at all. The Canada 9 contested the ball fair and square.

    I am not fully sure, i would suggest it is how far around the scrum he is before Read takes the ball off, perhaps even touching him first. No idea other than that.

    Hi guys, im trying to learn the rugby rules, can anyone explain to me why the referee gave a penalty to canada (i believe) and didn't let them to continue their attack at 5:19 mins ?

  • @newremote

    @newremote

    4 жыл бұрын

    Mehdi Belila : At 4:39 the ref signals a penalty to Canada for a no arms tackle. He lets play continue to see if Canada can still gain an advantage from their position. At 5:19 he decides that Canada have not made any progress so he stops the advantage call and goes back to where the penalty spot is for the illegal tackle. Refs often do this, called playing advantage, if they think that stopping the game for the penalty might also penalise the attacking side by stopping their momentum, especially close to the try line. They let play go on for a few seconds to see what develops.
