Within a hall of illusionistic mirrors at the Gucci Hub in Milan, Creative Director Alessandro Michele presented his latest collection, Exquisite Gucci. In his notes on the show, he wrote, “I use the metaphor of the magical mirror to approach the phantasmagorical power of fashion. A sacred power that radiates from the surface of the fabrics. And there I work, on this tactile surface, through cross references, alterations, loopholes and grafts. Juxtaposing worlds and meanings. Altering the stability of perception. Manipulating and magnifying the existing. Through these interventions, I celebrate the clothes as real optical labs: magical machines that can give birth to fairy tales of metamorphosis and re-enchantment.” #ExquisiteGucci #MFW

Now that's what I call a show! All the pieces were dripping with opulence and artistry, set against an inspired backdrop of stage and music. This is truly the first time I've been inspired by art since the pandemic started. Thank you, Gucci. Grazie, Grazie.

Wasn't always that way. Wasn't until Tom Ford was hired at creative director that the house of Gucci broke away from their conservative box. Since Ford left Gucci, they have continued to explode with innovative style while maintaining superb craftsmanship using the ultimate in luxury materials. So exciting to see every new collection the Gucci produces.
The opening track of the show "To The Hills" Il Partigiano Johnny by Alexander Balanescu. Beautiful. And midway upbeat classic 80's "Small Town Boy" by Bronski Beat.

never disturb the artist’s intention. you wouldn’t say that, for instance, picasso needs to add more detail to his paintings, because the lack of human qualities makes the painting hard to appreciate.
This collection is amazing, an exquisite exhibition of art.

An unexpected partnership, I must say, but I am delighted to watch such an absolutely dramatic and hypnotic runway. The music is gorgeous, the 80s are quite a trend now. Although focused in one tendency, GUCCI/ADIDAS attended here to an heterogeneous public, and this is also awesome.

So i may be late in watching this but I did to see what fits Kai would look best in. I'm pleased to say that the fits for the most part are really nice. There are quite a few i would like to see Kai in. Hoping he gets to go to Milan in May for FW and fingers crossed that he wears one of these fits.
