Exactly. You CHOOSE to run it or not. It's not mandatory. Being old, I've seen all the incarnations of ALL electronics that "ruined" bass fishing. Yet, here we are (50+ years later) talking about FFS ruining bass fishing). As a little kid, I still remember when the old "Green Box" was "ruining" fishing according to the them old (now dead) guys. Then, it was the paper burner that "ruined" bass fishing. Of course next came down and side scan that was "ruining" bass fishing. In 2019 (a whole 5 years ago) when Thrift won the FLW cup, he "ruined" bass fishing with the 360. Now, it's FFS that is ruining fishing. Newsflash: Wheeler just won on Santee with FFS and a ball head jig with a piece of plastic on the hook watching it on his FFS. Yet, everybody had FFS on the same lake, at the same time, yet "The Wheel" is the one that won it. Now I know that Wheelers decision to stay off-shore, find the hardest bottom return on a nothing flat that had little to no traffic with very little isolated cover and knowing that post front, the bass were glued to the bottom, had nothing to do with his win. It's the electronics that told him all that. The other 9 guys with the same electronics set-up, at the same lake, at the same time, etc, etc, for some reason, didn't get told by their same electronics the information that Wheeler's electronic told him. Must have been a systems malfunction on the other 9's gear. Call me silly, and me just being a week-end hack, but I would SWEAR that Wheeler somehow knew something the rest of the field didn't know, and however remote the chance, it MUST have been the FFS that told him.

They are more than willing to play the game with electronics. If they say "want to just get back to fishing" they are lying. They will do anything to get an advantage over other anglers. If it was true what they were saying, they'd all band together and get rid of electronics in tournament fishing. They all want an edge over each other and that's why we see them with multi units on boats

The most damaging thing that affects bass populations as it relates to bass morbidity/mortality is the delayed mortality from those circuits that still think its necessary (so you can have a weigh in for people to watch) to travel all day up and down the lake with bass pinned up in a "live" well.

I just watched Randy Blaukat's response to this. He is %100 correct. Randy is fighting the good fight. He brings up a good point. With all the money the sonar companies pay Bassmaster why don't the anglers see more of that money in tournament payouts? Seems like Bassmaster is keeping most of the money. What is a typical 1st place payout? $100k-%150k? Seems like people are getting screwed by Bassmaster.

I watched Milliken zig zag half day 4 for fish. It’s gotten ridiculous. They need limitations so it places the best in top, like any sport does. Not say take electronics away, do it in a way that every fisherman has an equal advantage.. Funny even Ike says FFS makes poor fisherman great, pretty sad.

💯 i wanted to get back into tournament fishing but realizing the cost of boats and electronics it doesn't seem possible. On top of that the new opens format is a dream killer for blue collar guys. With that said they're gonna have to limit the technology. Arkansas had to do it with the mojo decoys bc they were just too good. The fisheries are gonna suffer, especially the crappie, bluegills, and redear.

I don't understand why you can't just run mapping, downscan side scan and 2d at the console, and then some kind of ffs at the front, I'm always gonna want contours up front too.. I'm not going to pull a Randy B here, but it is definitely getting way way way out of hand! My question is where does it end where is the line drawn.?
