I have been listening to David Pawson for about two months now and I have been blessed. I am a Nigerian, in Nigeria where prosperity gospel is the order of the day. I’ve not heard the real gospel for a very long time till I stumbled into David Pawson’s video messages on the internet. Since then I’ve not taken my time off the channel. I love Jesus Christ, I know I cannot sit in David Pawson’s teaching class, but I am in his congregation studying the Bible with him. Am so grateful to you all in Christ Jesus.

Itsuokor Ayegbeni Felix...greetings. I too have recently come across David Pawson. Yes I agree, he's very informative and good listening (very addictive haha). I came across David's videos from a recommendation from..."James Jacob Prasch" on KZread. Jesus is Our Leader and the most beautiful name...Amen. Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life...Amen. Have a great day and week ahead. From 🇦🇺.

He passed into eternity at age 90 last year. Great Bible teacher...study him carefully... Life and doctrine for buy it you will save not only yourselves but also those who hear you...he taught a more biblical New birth experience than what is commonly taught and today is evangelical churches Jesus said born of the water and of the spirit yet we tell people they can pray a sinner's prayer and be saved that is not all there is....NO there is much more. His commands are not burdensome. See Acts 2 38 and ask the Lord to lead you into all TRUTH en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Pawson

I watched this once a year or two ago as a new believer and it didn't impact me whatsoever. Now, having gone through the pandemic and its consequences and practicing/acting upon my faith, I watched it again......I found light and really understood every words that Pastor Pawson spoke...Praise the Lord for opening my heart and eyes for the Words of the Eternal One and transforming my heart from stone to flesh...the process is not pretty since I now recognise how many wrongs and pains I have caused before my conversion...I still suffer because of my past actions and decisions. However, it is so much better to suffer the sins from my past for a little while than to spend eternity ruminating in Hell. What a privilege to be His adopted son and having the opportunity to repent and to be reborn through Christ...What a glorious message to all sinners in this world! Hallelujah!

A Very Humble Man that he is, the Preacher, Mr. David Pawson, so Many Times would personally acknowledge his mistakes of the past, even the wrong teachings he once believed and preached. I Haven't seen nor heard that from the rest. He burned for the Lord till his last breath! Such an envy, a Man's Life Fully Consumed and even till date , his messages are still Fully Burning ! His preachings were not as popular as the prosperity preachings, but I see his messages are rapidly getting attentiin and spreading like fire !!! More So after he died, specially to those who desire the Pure Word of God. This Man had Lifted Jesus so high!!! And True enough, souls are flowing and being drawn to God!!! Listening to him gets you so addicted to God that you Tend to Crave and Thirst for More of Jesus !!

I knew someone who went to the UK to visit his church but he didn't preach, because he said he did not want to be upheld as opposed to The Lord; I'm paraphrasing however you get the picture - God will provide when David is gone, and we will mourn and yet rejoice in his going to a better place - rejoice in knowing this Great Future is upon him!

Thank you so much for clarifying the part about received/receive Jesus. This was something I always struggled with. How can a person receive and host Jesus if he is not physically here? How does that work? What does that mean? He isn't here. But yes, I understand now. We receive the Holy Spirit. I struggled understanding that too, understanding what the Holy Spirit "was" what that _meant_ to receive and how it is different to Christ. But now I understand. Thank you so much for clarifying this to me.

I hadn't listened to David since 2016 when I was laid up for a long time, so sick I couldn't stand to watch movies or anything. He mentioned preaching in a church where there was a notable incident involving a wealthy widow. This story resonated with me, and I've become eager to learn more about the exact location and probably as well the year of this event. *Would you be kind enough to inform me of the specific church in Hannover where David Pawson preached on this occasion?*

For all his talk about Greek tenses, Pawson was no Greek scholar. There are not just two verb forms in Greek - there are five (Present, Future, Perfect/Pluperfect, Imperfect, & Aorist), there is no such thing as a _present continuous_ tense in Koine Greek, and the aorist tense does not of itself mean something was a once-only event. Verbs also have mood (indicative, infinitive, imperative, and subjunctive) and voice (active, passive, middle). With the *aorist* tense - This tense describes an undefined action, _usually_ occurring in the past, but it can also emphasise the beginning of an action, a timeless truth, or the certainty of a future event. With the *present* tense - The present indicative active form of a Greek verb _usually_ describes an action occurring in the present. The action may be continuous or undefined. If a verb occurs in the _Middle_ mood, it also connotes an element of self-interest and, if in the _Passive_ mood, that the action was performed on the subject. See Mounce, W. D. (2009). _Basics of Biblical Greek._ Grand Rapids: Zondervan. In Matthew 5:31-32, Matthew 19:9, Mark 10:1-2, and Luke 16:18, the verbs μοιχεύω (moicheuó), ἀπολύω (apoluó), and γαμέω (gameó), the latter meaning ‘to marry’, are *all* in the _present indicative active_ form. On the basis of his _present continuous_ tense claim, Pawson asserts the adultery of a post-divorce remarriage is continual. To be consistent, he would have to say all three verbs were referring to something being done continually. Few would conclude from these verses that the husband is also _continually_ dismissing his wife and _continually_ marrying another. Consequently, whether the adultery is continual has nothing to do with the verb’s tense or its aspect and has to be argued on other grounds - which Pawson fails to do. Had Jesus wanted to say the adultery was continuous, one would expect to find an adjective like διηνεκής (diénekés), meaning ‘continually’ (cf. Hebrews 10:1), or a verb like πράσσω (prassó), meaning ‘practices’ (cf. Romans 1:32), in the text. The simple reality is that Jesus used what is known as the _gnomic present_ to make a timeless statement. The construction is typical of proverbs (maxims). In other words, Jesus was telling his hearers what is true any time, rather than what is true all the time. See Wallace (1996), _Greek Grammar Beyond the Basics: An Exegetical Syntax of the New Testament._ Grand Rapids: Zondervan, pp. 523-4.

I dont claim to be a Geek Scholar but I can confirm David did study Greek. Whilst you are correct in saying Koine Greek does not have a ''present continuous tense'' there are many verbs in the New Testament one would class as ''present imperative'' tense It would be more correct to say that the these verbs are present imperatives and that we normally understand present imperatives to have an ongoing aspect. Therefore the exhortation is indeed to ''keep on asking'', ''keep on seeking'' and ''keep on knocking''. It's not a 'present continuous tense' but it does has a continuous aspect. Whether there is a present continuous tense or more accurately it is a present imperative tense - the correct translation is to keep on knocking, to keep on asking, to keep on believing

@@DavidPawsonMinistry The imperative and indicative are entirely different verb forms. The text in question uses the indicative form. In any event, there is nothing about the imperative that connotes an ongoing aspect and the present imperative has nothing to do with what Pawson called the present continuous. Your understanding of Greek grammar is abysmal. Moreover, the imperative form connotes commanding or exhorting. Surely you're not saying that Jesus was commanding or exhorting his hearers to continually fornicate, divorce and commit adultery?! As for your treatment of Matt. 7:7-8 & Luke 11:9-11, where you say «the exhortation is indeed to ''keep on asking'', ''keep on seeking'' and ''keep on knocking''» that's exactly what they _don't_ mean. There is no sense of repetition or having to wear God down in the text.

It could be said that in Phil ch4 Paul describes his lifestyle and attitude and in verse13 he speaks a principle that can be applied to any undertaking in the will of God. This would seem likely. We do recieve Jesus as he says in John 15 that he and the Trinity will live in and make their home in us. Paul sometimes speaks of the Spirit as the Spirit of Jesus, so it is appropriate to speak of God in a Trinitarian fashion but to think too ontologically Trinitarian may give you 3 Gods. Paul always speaks of "Christ in me", so it is quite right to think of Jesus with us and on us and recieving him in believing and in the Supper. Thank you for the teaching and it is wonderful to know more about the context, but it by no means limits the meaning to only this.

John 15:5 CHRIST said without ME you can do nothing, therefore this allows Philippians 4:13 to be used in other areas in peoples lives. For a complete clear understanding on this issue just let me know and ill be happy to help. Much love to David Pawson.

At 1:04 his definition of perish is one he chooses to believe in. Strong's Concordance of the Bible has "destroy fully" , compare this with Matthew 10:28, fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. I will stick will perish meaning to be fully destroy which I believe fits better overall with Bible teaching.

I have a question comcerning Joh 1:12. John says in Joh 20:30-31 that he wrote the gospel so that people will believe in Jesus (continue believing in Jesus) and by believing have eternal life. That was his own statement of purpose for writing the letter. It is the message concerning Christ that introduces Christ to the people of the day and to people of every day right through the ages. It is in receiving the message of Christ that we receive Christ. That is the primary ministry of the Holy Spirit (Joh 16:8-14) - to convict people concerning Christ.

32:43 Blessed Hope Translation John 3:14,15,16 Indeed, no one has direct knowledge of the things of heaven, except for one: The one who has come down from heaven, the Son of Man and just as Moses lifted up the bronze serpent on a pole in the wilderness, so it is Gods will for the Son of Man to be lifted up, so that all who place their faith in him may share in life in the coming age. Indeed this is how God showed his great love to the world: He gave his matchless Son, so that all who place their faith in him may not be lost but share in the life of the age to come.

Scripture can often have a two-fold meaning because the Word of God is living! David seems to miss this point. So when in Rev 3:20 Jesus addressed the angel of the church in Laodicea, He emphasised that the prosperity (love of this world) teaching had replaced Him as being on the throne within their midst. This teaching can also have a spiritual application. He knocks at the door of the lukewarm church that leaves Him out and He knocks at the door of the heart of the sinner who is presented with the Gospel. It was relevant in that specific church in Laodicea, it is relevant of any church since then to this present day and it is also relevant concerning the Believer in Christ. As a new Believer I was followed up and counselled by a man of God who asked me, "Ian, where is Jesus right now?" I was about to say, "Everywhere," but out of my mouth came the words, "Jesus is in me." The Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father whom Jesus has sent was in me. (John 15:26)

Having said that, I would like to know if David verified in the original languages re the "past tence" gleaned from the missing "s" he used to conclude only the Holy Spirit is available to us today and not Jesus. Saddly, David died last year. I'm not in disagreement necessarily, i'm suggesting further research on the originally writting on such an important point is warrented. The Hebrew Matthew manuscript shows researchers that there were translation issues here and there. So, i am going to invest in a Bible which offers English, Aramaic, and Hebrew. I do not think checking only the Greek is sufficient because that translation came after the Aramiac. Errors have been discovered. Most don't matter, some significant.

There in no such thing as a Hebrew Matthew manuscript, so researchers can't possibly refer to one. The earliest Matthean manuscripts are all written in Greek. Any Hebrew, Aramaic, or Latin text of Matthew’s Gospel is a translation from the Greek - as are our English translations.
