Exposing corruption, abuse and war crimes - Whistleblower | DW Documentary

From Edward Snowden to Wikileaks - whistleblowers are seen by some as heroes defending the public. The system sees them as traitors. What are they really?
In the authorities’ eyes, they are traitors, yet the public at large often sees them as heroes. People are driven to whistleblowing by anger, disbelief and powerlessness. It is a decision from which there is no turning back, a moment when someone obeys their conscience regardless of the consequences. It marks the beginning of a battle against the system in which old allies become enemies.
Revelations by whistleblowers such as Swiss Leaks bring tax authorities around the world billions in revenue. They uncover corruption, data abuse and war crimes - without whistleblowers, the world would be a more naive place. Behind each story, however, is a personal fate: when the auditor Rudolf Elmer disclosed illegal business methods by Swiss banks, his life turned into a thriller. Stéphanie Gibaud, too, a marketing employee at UBS was first put under massive peer pressure and then fired. This is the price that most whistleblowers have to pay - just like Swen Ennullat, who had the gall to cry foul twice!

Whistleblowers should receive a bit more appreciation for stepping up and being brave regardless of how long it took them to do so. I hope that more people become aware of such corrupt systems and the systems will eventually change to become right.

They’ve killed everyone from the messiah to black leaders for exposing them to jfk & their own. White supremacy will kill anyone to continue ruling & has. Now that people are waking up they fear the fake politics won’t work to divide us & we will focus on who owns us & fight them now each other. #WakeUp

One of the most important videos on the internet. The reason why so few viewed this video is that people don't care. In the video, they emphasize that their actions against the corrupted systems are important for the coming generations, so by staying complacent, you are in some way a perpetrator of your children's future. It is so egoistically and a lack of understanding and generosity to not pursue your right to complain when you know that something is corrupted in the system you work in. You know that it will have dangerous ripple effects for generations to come. In Sweden, where I live, we also have several cases where people got punished in the end for sharing what they know about corruption. At first, some newspapers described them as heroes, but in the end, silenced by the lack of opportunity to make themselves heard.

Yeah the "Swiss bank" had thought I don't live any more so in 2012 they simply cashed my stocks and "transferred" ... all without even trying to check if I am really dead already. So over 6000€ simply vanished and they never apologized never refunded me any cent after I resurfaced being very surprised what is going on with my accounts by the bank. I can provide more details and names but not here.

It would be worth studying, why there is sometimes a great public moral outrage over an injustice done to an innocent human being, a family, a child or a group, but almost none toward the whistleblowers, who risk not only their social life but even confront death for the sake of the common good? One can even witness a kind of apathy from the public, evident from the number of views this video has garnered. Seems it is like a persistent phenomenon in human history, that society needs some kind of martyrs, to be celebrated posthumously.

The governments of today will always be unstable until Jehovah God steps in to end it all. These days are fast approaching as Daniel's prophecy stated in Chapter 2 vs 44 in the Bible. "In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed. And this kingdom will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it alone will stand forever. Once this happens, we can enjoy peace forever as quoted in Psalms 37:11 "But the meek will possess the earth,And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace" vs 29 "The righteous will possess the earth,And they will live forever on it." That's the future for those who hope in the almighty God Jehovah and accept His sovereign rulership
