    In my opinion, and this is coming from someone who actually sells these phones to the public. The only reason why people really stick to Apple is two things, iMessage, & the stupid belief that the iPhone is way more easier to use than android.

    Samsung has more to offer then Apple, but Apple feels more premium then Samsung. Like the material, front and back glass, round edges, logo, interface, security, battery and face-id are important to me. I miss this with my current S23 Ultra.

    I honestly use both, and I can not choose one over the other. My everyday use, they both have pros and cons. The imessage excuse is just an excuse. imessage does nothing any different than change bubble color. To me, Apple is more like a fashion statement to most in the U.S. They use apple because thats what is in style. If famous people were all to start using Android, then you would see a lot of U.S. people using Android. At the end of the day, in my opinion, it boils down to preference.

    I agree 100%. Most people buy Apple because of the name. Some people don't buy Android because when they hear one person say something bad about an Android then they all Android phones are bad. Little do they know, it's thousands Android brands from government phones to top notch Android.

    You guys seems to not understand how android app development works, you absolutely do not need to develop for individual type and sizes of android. If you use the right constraints and layouts, the android IDE does that in the background and you have the opportunity to check how it would look in each format of android. Additionally most of these apps that are better on ios are American and because their market base is mostly ios, it makes sense that they start with that first. In other markets though, that's a different story

I love them all except pixel 7 pro. I just couldn’t love it, like I do my other devices. Had the pixel watch and sent it back because it was too small. If it wasn’t for my family having apple devices I’d probably wouldn’t have it as my primary devices.

    Honestly, genuinely, someone can explain to me how an iPhone is easier to use than an Android 🤔 For me (and the majority of my entourage), the fact of not having a universal back button and a real file manager is already too complex, incongruous 🤷🏽‍♂️ 7-8 years ago you could have talked about application optimization, now it's 2023. And regarding updates, I'd rather have an Android with Android 6-7 on which I can use all the apps than have an iPhone with iOS 13-14 on which WhatsApp and others do not work. And regarding the ecosystem Samsung and Huawei do the same, and Samsung's ecosystem is much broader than Apple's without being a jail. The day, iOS will have a universal back button, and a real file manager, we can open a debate. 🙏🏽

    There's so many more features that android offers too. Android simplifies steps and reduced steps. Apple adds them and makes things harder and doesn't innovate at all. There is no genuine explanation. I've asked that question all over these videos hoping to get a response and I've got none thus far.

  • @WaffleusRex
    @WaffleusRex9 ай бұрын

    In all of these except for ecosystem, my preference leans towards Android. Yes, even ease of use. I like having that universal back gesture and typing on an iPhone makes me want to throw it out the window. Not even SwiftKey or Gboard fully fixes things. Besides their iOS versions being worse than their Android versions, iPhones still revert to the stock keyboard for certain things like entering passwords. The iOS calculator sucks too compared to even the Google's very basic one, let alone Samsung or Xiaomi's. As for ecosystem, I have that very low on my list of priorities. I actively try to avoid being locked into any one company's ecosystem. I have an S23 Ultra and Tab S9 but I also have a Lenovo tablet. I have a Pixel Fold and Pixel Watch but only because it came included. I would otherwise have been fine with my Fitbit. And before that, I used a Surface Duo 2.

    No one ever talks about the keyboard, but it's absolute trash on the iPhone. My symbols, numbers and letters are all on one page, I don't need to toggle through multiple pages while texting. Jesus that would drive me nuts. Everything is just so much quicker and easier to use on android. I don't get how users of both could disagree with that.

    I love but also absolutely hate that a lot of apple’s strength is in their locked ecosystem. Like if you ONLY have an iPhone you’re missing a huge chunk of the experience. For me the only reason why I use an iPhone is because of the “it works smoothly 100% of the time” factor. Every other aspect I like android more but in the end, I’d rather own a plain car that I know will work every time I turn it on vs a super car that won’t

    I agreed with marques video but i know very few people who have the option to switch between phones. Typically there's one reason that gulfs everything else in why you used what you used. I know a number of people who have large families, including elderly, living off FaceTime and getting your entire family to switch to another video app is a bit unrealistic. Or, in my case, my main number is Google voice (for over a decade now) which only Android integrates properly so unless i want to give that up, it's not an option for it. I'm also a big fan of emulators which also aren't supported on ios. Some people are also forced to use one, usually ios, because of work.

  • @brianv2871

    @brianv2871

    6 ай бұрын

    @@tamwilfred On Android, Google voice integrates into the operating system, you don't have to use an app to make or receive calls. Basically i make calls and receive calls on the phone and it doesn't show the carrier number at all, it uses Google voice number for everything (except texts, which do come through Google voice app unfortunately). I realize the Google voice support is better now on iPhone than it used to be, when i originally got Android it's because Google voice app wasn't allowed on iPhone and you had to jail break it to use it. anyway, yeah, the integration is a minor distinction but nice not to have to go into app to use Google voice if it's your primary number.

    @@brianv2871 Thanks for the info. I use so many devices and I am in the middle of trying different carriers that haven't notice much of a difference. The Samsung Galaxy SII has an Android 13 rom available for it, that's eleven years of software support. Sure that's not all from Samsung but it's there. The iPhone of the time, the 4s, is stuck on iOS 9 which was released in 2015. I know a lot of people wouldn't want to mess around with custom roms and would find buying a new phone to be far easier, but it's an option that should be presented when doing iPhone vs Android videos, as it actually gives the edge in software support to the Android side of things. Ecosystem wise I find the Android side of things to be better but not because of the integration, simply because it will work on both. For example I have a Galaxy Watch and I can use it on Android or iOS. My friend can't use his Apple Watch on Android though, which limits his future options because if he wanted a Android phone he's have to buy a new smart watch as well.

I'm sure apple will cripple usb-c anyway and it'll still be slow charging, etc. 😀

    I don't know what referring to about the pricing of Android and Apple. If you do an apples-to-apples comparison then the phones are the same price. The release price of the S23 ultra is $1,199 and the iPhone Pro Max 15 is $1,199. The only Android phones that are more expensive are foldable phones. I would consider that a different class. If Apple had a foldable phone then it would be the same price too. Off the top of my head the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the iPhone 13 Pro Max were $1,099 but the base storage was only 128GB

    To me, neither is the winner holistically because its all about your own preference. Those who love customization will go with Android, those who love simplicity, ease of use and optimization, they will stick with Apple. I have the S23 Ultra and 14 Pro, they both are nice and are used for different reasons throughout my day. I would say that when it comes to the accessories , Apple is still in the lead with the watch and Airpods. Keep up the great discussions CJ.

    Got my first iphone a week ago 15 pro. Tbh iOS is more feature rich (minus customisation) and everything blends together much smoothly. The animations, the app quality and the general smoothness. The speed of opening apps is the same as android, so performance isn’t really an issue on either platform. (My last phone being nothing phone 2 which was the pinnacle of smoothness as well as speed on the android side, believe me, try it and every phone upto the galaxy s23 ultra will feel slower).

    Great video. “Customization” is a plus for SOME people. Being able to drill down and design every aspect of my phone has NEVER been an appealing option to me. I’m not a tinkerer. I prefer to pay for time saved, convenience and design than do it myself. I know plenty people buy “unfinished furniture”, make their own curtains and change their own oil. I’ve always felt slightly offended by a company who expects me to pay top dollar and receive an unpolished, unpolished device and call that “freedom”.

    It really depends on what one calls customizations. If you're just talking icons, then yeah... but customizations could even be simple things like folders, background images, widgets (all customizations which iphone does support). Even originally, ios didn't have an app store, so customizing what apps you have on your phone could also be customizing. At the end of the day, there are tons of tweaks you can do (especially on Samsung devices) that you don't have to do, but may make life easier. For instance, i rearrange my quick tiles to have features i need quick access to, higher on the drop down but those might be different than someone else based on their usage. I also have routines set up, so when i get in my car, once it sees my Bluetooth, it automatically turns on my mobile hotspot and does a couple other things. I also customize select apps with different notification sounds so i know if something is important without picking my phone up. Some features you can't just make an executive decision for all your users but you need to allow them to customize for their lifestyle.

    To be honest, Apple's ecosystem is way more refined, Apple's is geared toward people who just use their phones. On the flip side android Is refining its ecosystem, but the real draw to Android is the amount of customization that you can do to your device, and you can really make your device your own with Android. I had to get a Apple IPhone 13 pro max beside so many people are in Apple's ecosystem. So I have a Z Fold 4, Z Flip 5, and a I Phone 13. At the end of the day their is not perfect device you what is best depends on how you use your device.

    Ease of use Apple? Are you insane? Doing stuff on iOS is sooooo more convoluted than Android by a lightyear..... If you want better productivity that isn't time consuming or takes 5x more steps to do the same thing or options iOS just straight can't do then you go Android. If you want a fashion accessory (which is fine) you go Apple. You pay more for less with Apple, it's always been that way for the last at least decade and it'll stay that way. The iPhone 15 is mostly the same as the 14 or 13 or even 12 really. Artificial restrictions and a new chipset is the only difference. You buy Apple simply for it being fashionable, you don't buy it for anything else, because objectively Android is just a superior product in general. You can do more, they have more options for phones, they have the best hardware (most of iPhones components come from other companies. Half your iPhone is made by Samsung), better features, more convenient to navigate and faster to do so. New development tools for Android actually makes development for apps easier on android than iOS. Android is constantly innovating and will always faster than Apple now, because there are FAR more manufacturers of android devices than Apple obviously. Apple devices for what they are are ALWAYS more expensive for what you get. Perfect example now is the OnePlus 12 for $799. (I know it wasn't out at the time of the video) This video is honestly kind of a wash. Anyone that is a semi heavy user will take Android over Apple any day of the week. It's simply easier to use, better features, better productivity, better screens, better third party options (apple can't do APK) I've given Apple fair shots, I can't do it, they are so irritating to try and use it's unbelievable. You are the delusional one, and clearly biased. I've tried Samsung, Apple, Google, OnePlus, Asus phones. The only one I can not stand to use is Apple. It's NOT convenient to use, it lacks important features I use DAILY, that are basic af like simple navigations just for going backwards in an app. Apple is just straight up behind by years in the software and QOL useability. This again is unsurprising since 80% of the planet uses Android devices and there are far more manufacturers because Google doesn't charge for Android OS, so you get far more resources poured into it than a single company can manage. If you're a casual scroller iPhone is fine for you, but you're paying top dollar to do the bare minimum so it still makes no sense, especially since the last 4 years the iPhones have been practically identical besides cpu, but if you're a casual user you won't even notice that. If you're a power user, you just don't go Apple. They are just straight up missing FAR too many things.
